Hi there,
I want to review my go pro Videos (shot in 2,7k resolution) while on the go but cant playback them on my fire tablet using different players like VLC and that one from go pro itself.
My fire 5th gen tablet has CM12 installed.
The go pro videos are shot im 2,7k (i.e. one setting below 4k but one setting above full hd)
The micro SD card of the go pro is inserted into the the tablet.
No player can play the Videos back. VLC and go pro android App only play the sound while occasionally showing a still.
Any ideas? Just want to sort some Bad Videos out. No More
Thanks

I've installed RockPlayer on the NC and it seems to run standard def video (avi) that I've got in the 20-25 fps range while hd (720p) video is pretty much a slide show. What are the NC's capabilities video wise?
I ran quadrant and can see that the 3D performance isn't good compared to my Samsung Captivate but does that apply to video as well? I've played the same videos on my Captivate using RockPlayer and the stock video player and the stock player works much better than RockPlayer on the phone with much smoother playback. I've tried to copy the video player to the NC but get install errors every time so I'm guessing that it's incompatible.
Are there better video players that people recommend?
I am using mixzing to watch my movies. Works great!
Anyone else getting out of sync audio on... Everything? I've tried lots of sw player and not a one was in sync (avi, mp4, sd, hd). From what I've read, 2.2 should fix this, but bummer if it doesn't. I've got an ipad, and want to want the nook instead since the ipad isn't the laptop replace I thout it would be.
EDIT: Looks like MP4's are in Sync, so I assume it's the FFMPEG software decode that these players are using, as the MP4 should be done in hardware. Hopefully this thing'll get 2.2 before Jan. 3rd when my B&N return is up!

I'm having the same problem and hoping someone figures out why. I can't imagine it's a hardware problem...
What exactly is the point on watching a HD file in a non HD device? With the Nook's screen you can get away with a 480P video and it'll look fantastic. Lower resolutions will look pretty decent too. Pixels are all nice and good but there's a time and a place for everything... well, in this case only a place and that's your living room big screen TV
Using the stock player on the Nook I am having no issues with audio and video staying in sync.
Mixzing is great, but won't play avi files. I don't want to have to convert all my files just to play on one device...
act 1 video player works fine for me no sync issues

Per your post I checked this out and you are right...it does work great with more options while playing. I think the only way to "back" out of a movie is to use the "n" button though. ?
I would like to know how can i play HD videos on youtube like on a normal PC where we can choose to play 720p videos on youtube instead of 360p..I know there is this HQ button but the quality is still very bad..
Not sure how to do it with the andriod app but I open youtube with the browser as a desktop site so I can play it at 720p
Wife got one of these for Xmas.... Kindle Fire HD 32gb.
I've got a bunch of mp4 videos that I am transferring to it, but they don't show up in the stock launcher under videos (on Device).... I can get to them using the ES file manager, but just checking there isn't something special you need to do to make them show up instead.
Use the personal videos app and the will play just fine; if you want to play other formats use the MX Player, it just plays everything you trow at it.
I have a microSD card with a bunch of non-DRM m4v movies on it. I had a Hisense Sero Pro 7 and with this card, Google Play Movies would see the movies and play them no problem.
Then, I switched to the Nook HD+ a while back. I can't remember for sure, but it seems I was able to play movies off the card (either with stock ROM or with CM10.1, I can't remember). Now, I tried this morning, and Play Movies app does not show any of my local movies when I go to My Movies. Music files show in Play Music, so I know the SD card is working.
Am I crazy? (rhetorical question). Does the Nook HD+ play m4v movies with stock or CM10.1? If not, what is a good, cheap (doesn't need to be free) player that will play back these m4v movies (high quality BR rips)?
Thanks.
OK, I'm not crazy. I have another HD+ that I had unboxed a few weeks ago, put CM10.1 on, and put back in the box and on the shelf.
I fired it up and started Play Movie app. It sees the movies fine and plays them. BUT, it's an older version of Play Movies. The older version is 2.4 and the new is 2.5. The older version had (and I say "had" because it just auto-updated to 2.5 and I lost 2.4) sections called TV Shows, Movies, and Personal Videos. My movies were under Personal Videos. Now, with 2.5, no Personal Videos section.
So, how do I get 2.4 back or how do I get 2.5 to see my m4v movies?
I found a 2.4 APK for the Play Movies app and uninstalled 2.5 and installed 2.4. Works great again!
Hopefully Google will fix 2.5 (assuming it's a bug that personal videos is missing) soon!
I have found that irrespective of hardware or software, MXplayer is the most versatile of the video player apps. It has multiple codecs and will recommend download of any additional ones needed for a specific file. I have played multiple mV4 movies successfully on multiple devices including the NookHD+. There is a free trial and really worth the 5 bucks.

Might want to have a look at Dice Player, very nice too.
Sent from my HD+ Running CM 10.1 from emmc
MX really is the best one out there, updated frequently too.
That play movies app that came with the nook is really nice though. I like the way it works.

Currently, I am "testing" two apps, BSPlayer FREE and QuickPic. Both are working fine with my m4v files. Both has good UI. But, I'll kept only one in the end.

Well, BSPlayer FREE wins out. One can zoom in or out, change the brightness and volume all from the screen.
I'm having problems playing MKV files on my 5th Gen Fire 7 using a custom rom (the excellent "nexus" rom featured elsewhere on these boards). On VLC and ES Media player I just get a black screen with perfect audio. Using MX player with the ARMv7 codec I get video but it's badly out of synch with the audio. The thing I find odd is that I VLC for windows and the EX Media player on my Galaxy s7 both play the same files with no problem. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Jonny

No problem with MKV playback w/standard VLC v2.0.6 on a slightly tuned 5th gen Fire running the latest Nexus build. Really depends on encoding as these pups don't have much horsepower. Try snagging a few test vids to see if they play. I had no problem with the 3D samples.
