camera Unable to initialize [solved]

So I was working on developing an app for android when I noticed that my camera had stopped working. Like many, I rebooted to find that it was still broken. This is my record for future Droid 3 users who get the same error "Unable to initialize" when starting up their camera.
To note:
I was rooted
I had the OTA update installed
Camera was working with both cases above
The camera was found broken after:
1. I was connected to the computer with "USB Mass Storage" Enabled
2. I was uploading Kitchen Sink, a test app for appcelerator through titanium X
3. I was testing geolocation which worked
4. I was testing camera which then reported "Unable to initialize"
I then quit the kitchen sink app, started the stock camera, which reported "unable to initialize"
I had read a few pages of google searches by this point like the one following:

I've had this camera since the release so its not that easy to simply send it to wirefly which is where I got it.
So I tried wiping the data, still didn't work. Reinstalled the camera files directly from the OTA update file, didn't work.
So what seemed to work was what follows:
-Factory reset
I restarted
held the X key
wiped cache TWICE
did a factory reset TWICE
reboot
Still didn't work.
So I restarted
held the X key
installed the latest OTA update
reboot
And now it works.
I hope this helps someone like me out there. There really isn't much material on this issue.

when my camcorder wasnt workin i replaced the build.prop cause i know i did a few things that messed with it.

Can someone else confirm this fix?

Droid 3 camera not working.
So ive been looking all day on this site for a successful fix for my problem and everything I have tried is not working. Im not sure how it happened I assume I did it when installing a rom. When I Try to open my camera or anything involving the camera hardware the screen stays black and will force close then upon a second time it just pops up with the "camera was unable to initialize" Im running the Droid 3 android version 2.3.4 sys version .xt862 and currently have on the dark droid rom. Im not that good at this and have been just winging it and following walkthroughs on the sites but I seemed to have missed a step or something along the way. Any help or advice would be awesome.

Galaxy S Advance Camera failure

Hello guys, i'm quite not sure whether the thread exists, i couldn't find it
My Camera stopped working, every time when i try to start camera app it shows "camera failure" or "unknown error occurred" i tried to use Instagram camera and i downloaded another camera app, but nothing is working.
then i tried factory reset, formating usb storage + sd card, at the end i flashed different JB firmware, but still nothing after all, now i'm afraid i have hardware failure, what do you think? any idea pls

try to downgrade to gb and then try to open camera and if it works...no hardware prob! If still doesn t work....i think should be an hardware prob:/

The touchwizz camera app, already made me lose good moments, since it takes 3 minutes to open

Please paste logcat and dmesg log, reboot phone and after launching camera app.

Is Fiddler working again for installing Nokia apps?

I downloaded the program and the program named Nokia Portal, but after trying for several times it wasn't working. Is it possible to work again or to install them somehow?

Some apps may install but may not work, fiddler been working every day this week, but some apps may check to see if its Nokia after it installs

Did you disconnect from the proxy before attempting the actual download? That step is required... the download process itself cannot be proxied, only the selection of apps to download.

[Q] Xperia T,update.205. playstore problem, urgent help required.

okay so, i recently updated my LT30p to the new firmware*9.2.A.1.205.
after the update was complete, i did a factory reset on my phone(without clearing internal storage)
after it was complete, i set the phone back up, managed to get 2-3 apps to be updated, after which i had to go out of range of wifi and so stopped other apps from downloading or updating.
When i returned and restarted, the apps wont download. like the downloading bar progresses on the playstore but theres no downloading icon on the status bar of the phone(thought it flickers for some apps when download is started) but the download never starts on WIFI.
Ive been trying to fix it since, tried everything from removing account and re-adding, clearing cache and data of play store,play services, as well as download manager.
meanwhile, i tried to download the apps on mobile data, and 4/10 times the download started with the logo appearing on the status bar and all. Other times no luck, as the downloading appeared on the play store only and thats it. I nw even reset my phone once again(without erasing internal storage), but the problem persists.*I really need help as this is annoying, im stuck with an empty phone with nothing working to improve the way things are..*Thanks.

You don't have to erase internal storage, I didn't do it and it's ok.
Try to repair the ROM with SEUS if you have locked bootloader and if not, flash .205 again with flashtool and then flash any kernel you want. Sometimes the download won't start because the Google Play updates itself, I always have this issue after installing new, stock ROM because the Google Play is always outdated in it and it HAS to update. Try to leave the phone connected to the Internet for some time and see if it updates Play Store to... let's say - 4.6.17 version, this is the version I have at the moment and I don't have any problems.
My phone is T. Xperia T.

Okay so I Reinstalled it using the SUS,still.no luck..
There a thing that I observed though,
While re-installing the apps after reset, I was also downloading a torrent simultaneously, the playstore download speed was really slow and often it stopped(as in the case when no connection is available) and so I stopped the installing of apps...
Thereafter when I tried to install the apps the next time this problem took place.
Could it be that maybe the download manager or playstore isnt responding to the WiFi as available Internet or something and so the download doesnt start, as on mobile data the download takes place normally. If it is possible then the solutions please...

Its blocked in my country do will need a proxy for it :/
Theres a network error on even the mobogenie store when downloading apps frm there too..
And I just noticed that my galaxy tab 3, is also not able to download apps too. The downloading logo in status bar appears, and it doesnt move beyond downloading..
So I suppose theres some network communication problem between my WiFi and appstores, bizarre it seems.
Any help plz?

I had experienced this before even my computer can't load youtube videos actually it did solve by time.

Im sorry but thats irrelavant, my problem is not being able to download apps from any playstore on WiFi(and to an extent on mobile data too)

It takes some time to Play Store and Google Play Services get updated, just wait for some time.

Check or change your DNS settings...just a thought. Maybe use a good public one...

Camera not working Lenovo k3 note Failed to Open Camera may be in use by another app

First thanks xda forums and members for helping.
Each time i turn on the camera it says Can't connect to the camera or Camera might be in use by another app.
What i did try:
-Clear cache and disable enable app
-Restarted phone
- Formated the phone
After i formated it the camera app was gone and i downloaded another app form playstore and it same error again. I tried to enable the app by apps but the disable button was greyed out.
I opened up the phone and disconnected / connected the camera & and booted the phone again but still the phone wouldnt work.

I am facing the exact same problem with my K3 Note and i have tried all the possible methods available on the internet so far but without success. Need help.

tell me if you fix it, did you take it to the service ?i havent taken my phone there yet , i usualy fix all my computers/phone problems myself but cant do anything to this one.

I have the exactly problem after I change the photo storage location from internal storage to external sd card. I think it is a issue of android 7.1.2
It is normal after I change back to internal storage and reset the camera.
