Overclock settings self change - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good Evening! So i am noticing that when i use multiple different kinds of overclocking/kernel editing apps, my overclock settings change on there own after a while. If i set it to performance the values go down on there own or it will go from performance to interactive the next time i open the app up. Can anyone tell me why this is and how to fix it? i am running a note 5 6.0.1 (920k) stock. googy- max 1.4 kernel. Thanks

Its because of Samsung dfvs mode.

Ahh gotcha. I see there's an older xposed module to disable it but it seems too outdated to try. Do you have any other suggestions for this issue?

[Q] 'Device not compatible' gapps issue with new ROM (Slimbean)

Hi folks.
I would appreciate a little help with a problem I have.
I rooted and installed Slimbean (240 dpi)? plus formula84 gapps from the stock T Mobile junk. I have an odd issue when checking 'my apps' within google play which says 'Your device isn't compatible with this version.
I have tried to clear the application cache/data for play within settings and restarting.
Also, the camera seems to keep looking for external storage which is a little odd?
I would appreciate any advice immensely.
Cheers all.
Forgot to mention, Ive changed the dpi manually to 240 and ran through the general UI instructions after changing the DPI but still get the problem. Boo!

Had the same problem on first build of slimbean as well. I had to repeat the steps involving changing the DPI several times before I had success with play. The latest build of slimbean should already have DPI set to 240 and since that build ,I never had a problem. I never messed with DPI on latest build.

Thanks for replying. I thought I had the latest version. After a few goes of the same process you mentioned I managed to sort it.
Yeah, it can be a pain to get working properly. The only mirror for the 240DPI build isn't working, so the other 2 links are for the 182DPI version. Otherwise, they are exactly the same. Before flashing, you could edit the build.prop to reflect the change, and it'll make it easier for the Play Store to work right off the bat.

Never edited build prop before but I guess I could look into it just so I know how for future reference. I'm sure its simple. Probly just open the build.prop and find where the DPI numbers are and change them?

That is exactly how to do it, or just use ROM toolbox, there is a section for build prop edits, or you can do it before you even flash the ROM. In build prop you can also edit some stuff to get an amazing benchmark, but no help to the actual performance, so kinda useless( its something with frame rates)

Debloat Gapps, what version do you use? Remove Google+ if there is some, it takes about 30MB... For battery, change governor and IO scheduler with NO Frill CPU app to PegasusQ/SIO for example. Generaly CM11 drains battery more than stock. And if you have installed it today, take 3 full charges and see what will happen. When I change ROM I get more battery drain in first 2-3 charges.

I used Maclaw. But where can i find the IO scheduler?
I flashed Aroma Gapps so i didn't choose and install Google+
But once i rebooted my device , it's functioning well already.

I told you how to change IO and Governor, with NO frill CPU, download it from Play store.
Or like R_a_z_v_a_n told you.
P.S. Change launcher, install NOVA launcher or APEX from play store. The one with CM11 is lagging.

Franco.Kernel settings don't stay after a reboot

Hello All. So I have setup franco kernel with the settings I want and have set the triggers to retain those settings on boot, any time I reboot my device, I noticed the settings don't stick and I have to redo the same tweaks again - any thoughts?
How are you setting them?

Oh OK. Probably best to ask in a franco Q&A thread I guess.
Are you also hitting the little slider on the right? That toggles 'set on boot'.

This will require you to reinstall The PEH firmware and reroot. Once done The new rom will flash files not a system.img any more. The zip file will be alot smaller. I think this will also help on the MMS problem for some people, as the system partition was getting messed up during multiple flashes of system.img images
Recommended you be on PH1 or PI3 firmware and Rooted
Install Flashfire

You must decide if you want to use Google IncallUI or Samsung InCallUI. Samsung InCallUI will allow too still receive and switch to video calls and the google IncallUI will only support HD calling. To switch to google IncallUI goto settings/applications click on default applications choose calling app and click on the blue phone app. To switch back to samsung IncallUI is a little more complicated. You will need an app like root explorer and goto data/system/users/0 and then findthe setting_secure.xml and delete and then restart phone. This will restore samsung IncallUI as default
You will also want to turn edge features off since everthing is deleted
Also you need to goto SuperSU app and goto settings and click on enable su during boot and also click trust system users
Goto this thread and under Recommended Next Steps find the S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_V15.zip or latest version and flash to fix kernel lage and doze fix.
Goto setting/about phone
Click on build number 5 times to enable developer options
Change animation and duration scales to .05 this will speed up phone
You will also have to change charging/file mode from within developer options
Remember Wiping Dalvik cache will cause phone to take up to 10 min to boot on deodexed roms
If using samsung IncallUI here is a fix for call phone FC and also location service fix

I didnt mean for my reply to come across rude. I just thought since the OP looks like the other one you thought it was the same. This is basically nothing but a bootable rom with like 5 apps installed thats it there are over 180 running apps removed. I kind of thought it would be cool to be able to build your rom how ever you want it without having to worry about what you can delete and what you cannot. I appreciate the support especially on new development. Understand I have many threads and and other devices so i sometimes keep my answers short and direct especially when using the mobile app which I hate using.

Ok, that is what I thought. I just was trying to determine if there was anything else major missing from that other ROM, knowing some apps would have to be pulled or installed, hence your "Playstore" moniker for this ROM. Ok, this is a good clean base ROM for those who like to order "a la carte" down the road when the need for other features are required. I may give it a spin for the fun of it.
Cool! We are good.

I'm using the Google incall with no issues at all. Probably no need to flash if that's what you're using.
So far the ROM is nearly perfect.
Having some MMS issues again. It only works when Wifi is turned off or not connected to a network.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I even flashed your fix it ZIP.
Hey I'm considering installing this ROM because I live the minimalism of it. How's the performance? Anyone mind posting an AnTuTu score?

I actually found one of the battery saver apps to be causing the issue. I think it was amplify through xposed, it caused the mobile data to turn off when connected to wifi. So, i turned it off and haven't had an issue since.

na.. just pick whichever rom, download it, find a latest "gapps"(google apps pack) and download it, and download the latest supersu(latest). then go into recovery, wipe data and system, then flash the rom, then the gapps, then the supersu file.. then just reboot.

1728? that doesnt seem right, at all. stock us 2649, so elementalx wouldnt be 1728 by default. seems as something else changed it to 1728. but yea, change it to whatever you feel comfortable with.

Guess all I needed was a reboot and it's normal now. Btw I'm experiencing very slow charging speed after custom kernel. I don't have a turbo charger so I use normal 2A charger and before it used to charge from 20 to 90% in like an hour and now I charged it for 3 hours and it was at 67%. I tried powering off and then charging too still same. Fon is snappier than ever. Even in power save mode it's very snappy. And battery life is good. Though a little higher standby consumption but screening time is way better getting more than 5 hours compared to barely reaching 4 before. I'm pretty happy with everything so far except the slow charging speed. Is there any way to fix it?
