Hi everyone!
As many of you know, the stock kernel on our device is really bad. Only 4 cores are working even when you are performing heavy tasks like gaming and even in benchmarks, 4 cores are always sleeping. Only time i saw them working was when i used a CPU stresser app.
If someone was able to make a custom kernel which would utilize all 8 cores it would make our devices so much faster!
for me us faster enough, what I miss on kernel are Otg drivers

In order to compile a custom kernel, first We need the kernel sources from Huawei, and (at least for Marshmallow) they haven't released a fully working one yet.

Well, I'd switch back to lolipop if there was a custom kernel for it. Only thing i really like about marshmallow is the smaller navigation bar and permissions and I could live without those features.

Hi.
I didn't find where to share it so people can try it and give feedback or whatever...so I created this thread. I compiled franco kernel with the updated code for the wifi driver (same thing that was done here).
It also modifies libs and config files so do a nandroid backup in case you don't want to use it anymore (use any other kernel...including the original franco kernel) ... or you can use (you have to use[/B]) this to revert to stock driver and pure franco #134 kernel.
Anyway... flashable zip in attached files
Source is here
I just wanted to help so be cool.
And credit to the people that deserved it.... you know who..
Well since the wifi problem is fixed (I think)... I'm just sharing my personal build of franco kernel...it's franco kernel+faux sound+faux gamma control.
Enjoy
What version (date) of the Prima Driver does this Kernel Contain? BTW, currently testing
Just as a heads up I'm using jszaq 's motley version and it's not missed a beat in weeks. It's so awesome not to have to worry about missed notifications on WiFi, after waiting so long for crappy Google to fix it.

It works for me too... But I read motley's thread and apparently doesn't work for everybody... I hope that it works for most of the people so franco will include it officially.. But since it uses libs and other config besides the kernel I don't think he will

Since it changes libs and other stuff you can't just simply flash a new kernel. Have to restore from a backup.
Edit: Forgot to report my results. My internet is 30/5 and with this new kernel I actually get 30/6.5 which is obviously a faster upload than my computer speed tests.
If I flash a new kernel, do the new wifi drivers and such go away?

The kernel changes I made and the wifi libs and config in rom side need to go together... so if you flash a new kernel only the files in rom side stay.... and your wifi will mess up... so use the revert zip to change kernel but you will lose the fix

Hello,as many of you know ,that here was no updates made for a long time ,but i was working on this ROM with the help of Adam77Root ,Ive tried a lot of different combos of the Build, a lot of logging ,testing was done, but now Ive come to point where I ask any developer to help Porting this ROM to our for 4X ,so ive decided to make this an open development and publish current build.
NOTE: THIS FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY,THE ROM IS NOT BOOTING
CURRENT STATE:
This Port is based on CM10.1 stable with no /system/app.It has - repacked kernel, many imported libs and frameworks. The ROM was stuck at bootanimation all the time ,untill the last libhw_legacy.so was added and it got stuck at LG splash .

Since you port from HOX and use Sense 4+, I assume it's the 4.1.1 version. It will be an enormous work.
Does this.boot or i need to test myself?

Small suggestion. EGL libs have no need to change also hw libs (for start) so first to get the rom booting and after that fixes...there is no need to pile all at once!

contacted him before this ,didnt answer yet ,priority is to get it booted now.
In reply to @Gmobilize for the PM, but others might also be interested:
This and similar ports are not impossible to do. It just needs a lot of work. We are in a good situation, because: 1. We have NEON instruction support (Nowadays almost all new devices have this, but it's a pain if one doesn't.) 2. The HOX is similar both in chipset and in screen size and resolution. 3. We have official JB.
These were the pros, now the cons: HOX JB is based on 4.1.1 and it's slightly different from 4.1.2. Many native libraries should be replaced, which should not cause a problem as the chipset is similar.
I have already worked on a port similar (Stock Samsung JB from Exynos 4 to Tegra 2, without NEON support -> it was really hard), but would not participate in this project right now (I'm intereseted, but have some other work atm.).
Regarding rumours, 4.2.2 with Sense 5 will land in July to the HOX, I would wait for that.
If you need any help with the project, I'm here. Some advices first: Don't flash the whole rom, rather do it one-by-one, i.e. first frameworks, fix the necessary natives, boot into system_server, let SystemUI and core services start app, add providers, add core apps then others. It is a time (and adb ) consuming port, but it has to be this way.
Finally is it booting?I didnt find in any post anything

Devs waiting for ubuntu touch to be stable.. Then they will port it. Just see the ubuntu touch thread for more updates.
I get the idea that they should wait for the stable release, but wouldnt it be easier to get wifi, sms, phone working now?
Anyway great work devs

Not quite. pawitp's said in his Ubuntu thread that modifications need to be made in order for sms and other phone capabilities to work. And these ports are made directly using Ubuntu's source code. So until they update it with the neccesary modifications needed in order to get GSM and data working, its not very likely we'll see functional ports past the current stage.

So pawtip is waiting for the final code to be released because then the modifications needed will be there or will be updated??

In this recent review, the newly finished Sms, calling and power management capabilities have been shown.
So basically this is good enough to have all basic operations of a phone like wifi,3g,calling,sms,camera etc.So it's very much possible to have functional ports now .

The one that had "(Recommended)" next to it.
I guess going to 1804MHz doesn't freeze at first, but once I put it to heavy use it freezes.
The I/O scheduler only can set to ROW. I cant set it to anything else.
The only problems I noticed so far are the bluetooth, I/O scheduler, and the video camera that came with the KitKat launcher ( I was kinda expecting that), but the stock camera app works fine.
Very fast and snappy rom. I will probably probably use it day to day till a more stable 4.4 comes out.

Nice to have ya back
I get a slight problem sometimes after I flash a different ROM then go back to this one, it won't boot up. Not sure if its from the previous ROM (its just been the 4.4 rom ive been switching back n fourth with), or another matter.
I get it to boot up again after retrying a few times, but not sure what the problem is. Maybe the installation option.

I believe what's causing all the problems is the permissions. Beta will be a major improvement over prebeta, as in my free time when all I had was just my phone I was doing some heavily studying up on aroma. Not good giving an ETA but CE Project 2 beta will be released along side AOIP CE BETA. So it will be a dual release. Note CE Project 2 is NOT project ION. If it was then I would've referred it as that and not CE Project 2.

I want to add my verbal support for this project as well. I think AOIP 8/10/2013 is currently the best ROM that I have encountered for this phone thus far. The AOIP 2.0 builds had nicer features, but they weren't as stable as the 8/10/2013. An improved version of AOIP 8/10/2013 would be awesome and that sounds like what you are attempting to do. So, thanks!
AOIP CE is just hold people over for now and give a users a feel of what's to come. CE 2 is ROM independent but will also be required later on for project ion features. Once betas start rolling out it may move over to the dev thread but since is prebeta its here for the time being. Ya the 8/10 aoip is the best which is why I used that.

Im good. just slow after a dog bite on my arm. can only type one handed at the moment but still progressing. A release is still coming. AOIP CE is on hold. CE Project 2 is what im working on now as its universal and will work for your rom and it seems most have already moved on from AOIP and this phone. So depending on how the new year goes i may or may not release beta of AOIP CE and just focus on CE Project 2 and ION Project. Im hoping to have CE2 beta ready by the 1st and so far it looks like I'm right on schedule. Testing everything as I go so it won;t be nearly as bad of a release as CE1 prebeta. BTW how are you doing with getting ION running. Obviously things will be broken.
As I said I'm attempting to compile the CM13 for GT-S6500 jena, but I'm not a real developer (at least yet) and I'm not that familiar with Linux :/ I'm stuck on building basic cm recovery..
