Hi.
Used Renove S-OFF and 4.2.2 custom firmaware.
Now I can only access to fastboot mode and nothing more. Tried everything I can, but still cant flash stock 4.1 android. So help is needed.
Here's what I did:
1. locked my bootloader and after that everything went bad.
2. Flashed firmware zip 1.29.401.12 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
3. Now trying to flash stock ruu, but getting error 140 (bootloader version error), tried these http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...13323127-1031113105-release-310878-signedexe/ and http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...2706-1027112701-release-308001-signed-2-4exe/
4. And yes, no nandroid backup
5. HBOOT version is 1.44.000
Could someone with some loose time and understanding help me out of this problem?
Here's picture of "fastboot getvar all" command
your probably flashing the wrong ruu if you do s-off and supercid you can flash any gsm ruu

yeah 2.17.401.1 RUU is firmware from 4.2.2 it changes your hboot to 1.54.000
It seems a lot of people here don't know the difference between a firmware and a custom Rom
their different.

At what point here did you get to
How to flash?
(bootloader needs to be relocked)
Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
Open command prompt
Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
Connect device to the PC
In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet)
Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Type: fastboot reboot
Unlock your bootloader and flash custom recovery if you are going to use custom ROM.

sometimes it takes a few times before it works but more than likely you have the wrong ruu. your best bet is s-off and supercid

So is the only way to get unlocked bootloader from HTCdev? After that I can lock bootloader again with Revone. Does HTC know if that unlock code really been used?

Here's a pretty good walkthrough to get RUU
It's written before s-off so it's not 100% but theirs a lot of good info in it

So I bought a HTC one today locally in Winnipeg, MB Canada...even though it was an at&t phone (unlocked). It sees my sim card no problem, I can text, call, search the internet etc.... but I cannot setup the phone fully or properly, as it will not access the app store.
When I try to sign in with my credentials, it instantly errors... it says it cannot connect to google servers, try again later.... It turns out it has custom rom installed (android revolution). I went into recovery and tried to do a reset/format etc... but the same thing continues to happen.
Any information appreciated. I need my gmail etc!!
Thanks
as you can see below, I can get into recovery.... but think I wiped everything, including the system? is this device borked?
and now i have no OS at all.. so i cannot get past the bootscreen.... help please
I can get into recovery.... team win recovery project 2.6.3.3....
but I see nothing to boot, install, no zips, files etc... I think I wiped it clean.

where should I be typing that? so far I did this
adb push rom.zip /sdcard and it did some things?
then I do adb devices (in the cmd line of windows) and it gave me my serial number.... but what now? I tried typing what you said above, and it gives me nothing
Just type "fastboot getvar -all". This should work, but i will also try it on my own as soon as i get access to my computer because im not totaly sure about it.

Ok you are S-OFF so you can flash most any rom. But follow the thread using the s-off section thanks to @csla and @nkk71

You still need to get fastboot working however.

Do you have a working rom on the phone, If not the OTA is useless as its just that,( an update to the rom ) and not the full rom.
You need to download the RUU for your phone.
If you do have a working rom then you need to flash the stock recovery for your rom version and relock your bootloader,( your S-On ) to install the update.

Btw, your phone firmware is currently 4.20.708.10 (from your fastboot getvar all) so you can't use a 2.24.708.4 ruu because its a downgrade and you must have s-off do downgrade.

like i said above (post 13), you can't use this ruu because its a downgrade. S-OFF is required to downgrade so any RUU below your version (4.20.708.10) will not work. So trying to flash them = wasting your time.

adb push or sideload it to your sdcard, then install it from twrp

like i said above (post 13), you can't use this ruu because its a downgrade. S-OFF is required to downgrade so any RUU below your version (4.20.708.10) will not work. So trying to flash them = wasting your time.

I have a htc m7 in 4.3, and i want to update to lolipop.

obtain the correct update utility and try again
How to know what is the correct version?

Just upgraded my T-Mobile M9 to Marshmallow and have been playing around with it. I've flashed TWRP and ElementalX 4.00, but I can't root it. Every time I do, it fails to boot. With systemless, it bootloops, and with the standard method, it gets stuck on one of the boot screens. Please help!
ROOT
Hey friend had the same problem as you couldnt get root on TMO MM update, but finally got it this morning by flashing SuperSU v2.62 in recovery and it stuck, so search in SuperSU thread for link to it, hope this helps
I took the OTA then loaded TWRP 3.0 and loaded the SuperSU Beta (2.67 I believe) and had problems with boot loop. I went back into twrp and loaded the current stable ver 2.65 and it worked fine.

Thanks, both of you guys. Finally got it rooted.
Can anyone details the steps for this
I have S-Off rooted stock 5.1 currently. I would like to do a clean install of MM and the re-root.
I assume I need to
1. Wipe phone with Twrp
2. Flash stock recovery (do I need to wipe again with stock?)
3. Take the OTA
4. Flash Twrp again
5. Flash SuperSU 2.6.5
Is that it?

OR just flash the MarshMallow RUU that's available and have have those steps taken care of. Then Install TWRP and SuperSU.
But as far as kernels go ElementalX didn't work for me.
@rgao007 how did the kernel work for you? I couldn't get Signal when I flashed it.

Ok just tried flashing the RUU to my phone. It failed: Error 155 Unknown Error
Now my phone stuck at the download screen.
I followed RUU to try to recover and it tried again, but same error.
I'll better explain my current settings
HTC One M9 Tmobile 5.1
S-Off with Sunshine
TWRP installed and rooted
I want to goto Marshmallow. I know I can't take OTA so I downloaded the RUU here:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m9-t-mobile/news/
Then tried to run it and update my phone.
So what did I do wrong and how can I get my phone back?
Thanks
-EDIT- from what i've read online I need to relock my bootloader. But not sure how to get out of this download mode screen. Holding the powerbutton for 30 secs does nothing.

Wrong RUU there buddy, that's lollipop.
Heres the Marshmallow RUU
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_TMUS_MR_TMOUS_3.39.531.7.exe
Before flashing the RUU make sure you have the correct T-Mobile CID and MID.

Actually their page has been updated it seems. Same file name as the one you linked
http://screencast.com/t/FXrLl5tYoXB7
It's updated now and the file is the same as the one you linked.
Either way even if I was flashing lollipop again it still shouldn't fail.
Error 155 points to unlocked bootloader issues. Is that an issue? Do I need to re-lock to flash MM?
Do I need to flash stock recovery back first?
I set the mid and cid to tmobile when I first unlocked it.

Ok I locked the bootloader, checked my MID and CID.. all looks correct

Either theres typo, but this is what I get for MID
Code:
C:\Users\lvale\Desktop>fastboot getvar mid
mid: 0PJA12000
finished. total time: -0.000s
Idk if RUU is that stingy for a couple extra zeros missing. Make sure you write the MID with all the zeros like mine.
Also try flashing the rom.zip itself. When the RUU opens up use TaskManager to find the file and in that same directory is a rom.zip and the HTC fastboot witch will allow you to use flash the rom.zip and youll see the verbose output instead of the RUU just saying it failed for whatever reason.
Save the fastboot.exe(In RUU temp folder) since its modified to allow you to flash huge zip files.

Ok I'll try later today and let you know.
Thanks for the help
Ok I updated my mid and actually redownloaded the RUU file just in case.. This time all went perfect!
Thanks for your help! Funny that I was able to flash it initially without the missing zeros.. if that was the actual inhibitor... It was an unlocked AT&T model that I brought to Tmobile and after setting the MID and CID with less zeros, I was able to flash the tmus version of lollipop without issue.
In any case, Thanks all for the help Time for me to enjoy some marshmallow love
okay i can't get the MM RUU to install on my M9
I have a rooted stock rom
TWRP
S-ON and Bootloader unlocked
When i first ran the RUU I got error 131 Customer ID
So i checked my MID and CID, they seem okay.
I locked the bootloader and tried using the RUU again via download mode, same error
so I needed my phone back for work next the day so i unlocked my bootloader again and restored a recovery I created early. any ideas on what i should do?
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot oem readcid
