TWRP 3.x for HTC Incredible S
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. It's a fully touch driven user interface - no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. Open a terminal in Mac or Linux, or Command Prompt in Windows
Go to the directory where the recovery is placed
Then flash using this command:

Try using this recovery.
Why do we need to use sdcard as data partition? This will decrease performance even more.
when i try to install the recovery it say "fast boot does not recognize as internal or external command". what should i do?help me pls

Because there isn't enough place for the rom and gapps in normal layout
how to install it without pc
I mean can i zip it as PG32IMG and copy it to sd-card then flash it
I'm having problems with this recovery: it hangs on the TWRP boot screen so I cannot proceed to wipe in order to use the new format.
I'm unlocked s-on and previously used vivkat with clockwork 5.0.2.0.
Never mind, after removing the sdcard it worked.

We will try to find some solution, like DoomLoRD suggested in future builds.
I know this is CWM based but using this would we be able to restore our original CWM backups? And would CWM be able to restore the backups created but this recovery?
Firstly, thanks for this recovery.
Just one question; does adb sideload works? (actually adb sideload is broken in CWM 6.0.2.3, just works in CWM 6.0.2.0)
Thanks and best regards.

Yes, they should work. UCTR's backend is CWM only.

It is broken, there is a problem with adb daemon binary. It will be replaced/corrected in next build.
Edit:
Till then there is a small workaround,
Install "UCTR-Nexus4-temp-signed.zip" from within recovery
Doing this will take you too UCTR only, but with functional sideloading
awesome, glad to see you two around! haven't played with anything from napster or doomlord since he built blind for the kindle fire and used my device over teamviewer lol. gonna take this for a test drive!
Nicely done:good:
Will definitely try when the background is changed. Right now it's hard to read.

Nice tool, I'll test it as soon as I'll be home.
Edit: Your toolkit works like a charm. This is the easiest way to flash kernels/recoveries I've ever used.
Doesn't work: unknown compression method in winrar, winzip and standard windows extraction program!

Try it with 7-zip.
I compressed it using 7-zip.....
btw i'll see to make it work with winzip, winrar and other compression software.
Update
I'll update a compressed version which will be compatible with all compression software soon.
Edit: UPDATED
Huston we've got a problem. It's something wrong with my port...but what is the connection between a port and a recovery flash ?4
Problem solved, thank you.

Download it here:- http://sdrv.ms/14MRGJ8
there are two reasons for this error:-
1. when no device is connected
2. when HTCSyncManager.exe is already using adb servers

I tried to install the Prometheus kernel too now. It wrote Writing Successful but when the phone tries to boot it's stuck at the white HTC screen with the red text (This build is for development purposes only ...). What should I do?
EDIT: I tried to restore to a previous backup, I tried to install a custom ROM I had on my SD Card, none of that worked.

But thats working with my phone......
I tried installing Prometheus Kernel and it was successful....
Try installing the kernel manually.
1. Switch Off your phone and then boot into fastboot mode.
2. Connect your phone to the computer.
3. Open a command prompt in the "tools" folder.
4. Run the following command
"fastboot flash boot boot.img" (without quotes)
5. restart your phone with this command
"fastboot restart"
Tell me whether that worked or not.
Taking the case of the backup or flashing the ROM which recovery did you flashed???
I would recommend you to flash the CWM 6.0.3.0 TOUCH recovery which doesn't till now has a bug.
For this repeat the steps in this post and instead of step 4 just run the following command:
"fastboot flash recovery recovery_touch_6_0_3_0.img"
Then try to flash the ROM.
If it says "Install from sdcard failed" or something like that then retry downloading the ROM.
If nothing works then try FLASHING STOCK ROM...
Edit: How can a restore fail ? What error does it show? Did you change the recovery? Are the recoveries different i.e. the one with which you backed up and the one which you are trying to restore????

Why is the version still 6.0.4.6?
CWM 6.0.4.7
OP Updated
Feb/2 OP updated
Small question: my device is on 10.26.1.17. Updating to the latest official 4.3 will definitely wipe the CWM recovery, and probably will make some of the apps not running any more (not mentioning loosing root, etc..)
Is it possible to install the CWM on such a ROM version (10.26.1.17) ? I've just tested booting it and booting (and using it as a backup) works.
I was on 6.0.4.6 and i used flashify to update. Worked fine.

@pershoot I'd love for this recovery to include touch screen drivers. That way at least aroma could use the touch screen. Any ideas how to compile with the standard drivers included?

Very common mistake that happens to the best of us
updated.
Hi,
I spent hours trying to get this to work before discovering there are two missing steps in the OP's instructions.
There's a shell script that calls an application that restores the stock boot loader on every boot.
You have to delete it.
Steps:
1. Root.
2. Install Root Explorer.
3. Go into /etc
4. Delete install_recovery.sh
5. Go into /system
6. Delete recovery-from-boot.p
You have to delete the files. You can't just rename them or change the extension because the system actually searches the filesystem for a file whose contents matches an MD5 hash and will find it if you rename it.
After you do this, THEN follow OP's instructions.
Hi all! This is my first attempt to flash a custom rom and I'm stumbling. Summary below:
DEVICE AND SYSTEM:
Xiaomi Mi 6X
Running MIUI 11.0.6.0(PDCCNXM) (based on Android 9)
Device bought in China in 2018, not used until now, only updated through Xiaomi OTA.
Mi Unlock status - Unlocked
Developer options unlocked
USB debugging - activated
Phone not rooted.
Phone has no lock screen password set.
FILES TO FLASH:
1. dm-verity anti-rollback flash:
no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
2. Paranoid Android custom ROM:
pa-quartz-5-wayne-20200924.zip
METHOD
I'm using Google pltaform-tools (https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools) + TWRP files (https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomimi6x.html) and command prompts in adb and fastboot.
WHAT HAS WORKED SO FAR
adb devices OK - cmd shows hexa key
adb reboot bootloader OK - phone enters fastboot
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img OK - cmd shows Finished. Total time: 1.504s
fastboot reboot (holding recovery key combo to avoid entering automatic MIUI recovery) OK - TWRP loads
Then the problems start. TWRP shows:
Mount
Decrypt Data
Enter Password
and no password in the realms of man or heaven works. by clicking cancel as a workaround several mounting problems appear:
THE ISSUE
Since TWRP can't decrypt internal storage, I can't find the zip files I copied to the phone's memory.
Googling around I found the OTG option and tried it. But as it turns out it's also impossible to mount OTG (on Mount, the option for OTG appears but clicking it does nothing)
Googling more I found out about abd sideload, but TWRP fails to start the feature (on Advanced -> ADB sideload -> select Wipe Dalvik Cache + Wipe Cache)
Also googling intensely I found that by wiping the memory (on Wipe - Format Data - write "yes") then reentering recovery it was possible for TWRP to enter a decrypted mode. after doing this no password is required but both OTG and ADB show the same problems as before (and of course the internal memory files are no longer there).
As a summary of my woes, this is what I've tested so far and the results:

Assorted tests with older versions of TWRP have exactly the same results.
After every wipe I have to set up MIUI11 again, open developer optios, allow USB debugging etc. My fingers hurt. Morale is low. My soul is leaking. Any ideas on where to go next? Is this some unfixable incompatibility between TWRP and MI? I think I've exhausted the paths I can find by just googling around like a progressively more hairless maniac noob.
TWRP sucks for mi 6X. Download this one (OrangeFox Recovery) and everything works fine.To install it extract the zip and flash the recovery.img that is there. After that reboot to recovery and if it still asks for password just ignore, go to menu, manage partitions, clik on data, click on the button that will show, then format data and type yes. This will clean every partitions (It's the only way i found to fix encryption since our device doesn't support sd cards)Then download the Rom you want to your pc and then copy to your phone storage and install it. Good Luck.

Unfortunately, no.
Also since we already have a custom TWRP available for Sweet, would it be possible to have a non-fastboot ROM for xiaomi.eu ?

So since there is already a custom TWRP available, will you stop making the fastboot ROM version? is that I'm less than 12h to unlock the bootloader and I didn't want to be installing a version and then having to delete everything and install the version by TWRP ...
yes.. there is no point of fastboot rom version when TWRP is released..
