Has anyone tried this thing? Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on it.
I haven't but i have heard its great. Pretty much a 3k mAh battery. Most just use the stock battery and then use the power skin or vice versa since it pops in and out relatively easy
Wish I could afford that (Laid off). Slightly annoyed that the phone can't keep his charge for more than 12 hours with the use I make of it which I guess is low to med-high use.
Does it work on the Nexus S (not 4G)? I have the i9020a, to be more exact.

You should look into undervolting the phone and using another kernel, if you haven't already. You can get great battery life doing this.

I have this case, it's not 3k mah... its 1500... its nice but it makes the phone a little bulky and for that reason i only use it when im going out and know im going to have to charge it... it charges it when the phone is dying... or you can leave it on while the phone is in it and it will charge while the phone is dying
EDIT: official website so you can see the details better http://power-skin.com/battery-cases/ap1510i91/samsung-nexus-s-4g.html
I had one. Returned.
It is an extra 1500mah battery that is just used to recharge your phone. It worked pretty well if you are going out and need more juice. I feel like it wasn't double the battery power but more like an extra 75% or so of the original battery.
It makes the phone more than twice as thick and you cannot really tell the remaining battery percentage because it is two separate batteries, granted there is a few leds on the back of the case to estimate the powerskin's remaining power, it is just a pita.
If you are using the case to charge and want to plug in some headphones, you better hope that you have some with a very slim connector (like the ones made for iPhones) because in my experience regular plugs are too thick and you have to take the case off to use.
Also the USB on the case is only used for charging, you cannot sync or use any other USB functions unless you take the case off.
I cannot really recommend this case because I was using it only when I needed extra juice. If I wanted something to charge my phone in a pinch I would buy something like: http://www.amazon.com/Duracell-Instant-Charger-Lithium-universal/dp/B002FU6KF2 (Not necessarily this one, but something like it.)
If you want something with double the battery capacity of the NS and dont mind a little extra bulk (not as much as the powerskin) I really recommend this http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoce...6C/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1322030905&sr=8-10
The other problem with using the Powerskin and the Seidio battery is NFC will not work when using them. The powerskin blocks the NFC antenna and the Seidio backplate does not have a NFC antenna.
Anyways, long reply but I hope I helped you make a decision. =)

I meant pretty much 3k when you include the stock battery. He power skin is only 1500 mAh by itself
decided to buy this cuz i wanted to protect the phone AND have an extended battery rather than carry around a phone and external battery pack. i hate the fact that there is only one iphone a year and a BAGILLION accessories for it, one which i envied for a long time is the extended battery case! The idea behind it is very simple since the micro usb connector is still kinda loose on some slack of cable. one of those "WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT" ideas... cant wait for it

I liked the powerskin and found that with it, I was able to achieve slightly under 100% increase in longevity. I assume the inefficiency is due to this acting as a charger rather than a true replacement battery. As you can see in my review, though, the thickness gain is quite noticeable.
Perhaps the most dramatic picture from my review:

Mine comes in today so I'll get a feel for the size. I always look a pics and think wow that's ridiculous in size, but when I get it in hand I always say meh its not as bad as I thought. Probably cuz the pics help me expect the worst.

OK so I've had it a hand full of days now and I've got to say it does a decent job. Like stated by others, the extra battery is roughly 75-80% of the OEM. Not bad, but maybe it gets a lil better as time rolls on. The bulk ain't bad after the first day, I kind of like that it is now a self defense unit (KO a mofo!)
Only gripe is that the skin is a little sticky when pulling out of the pocket, which in turn sometimes manages to slightly jiggle the micro USB connector and turns the battery pack on. Doesn't happen much, but is upsetting when I have 80%+ battery OEM and then I accidently turn the power skin on. This also means whenever u connect the micro usb to the phone the pack automatically turns on, so if i dont need it running i need to make sure i turn it off after applying the skin to the phone. Other than that this thing is exactly what I expected

I just got mine yesterday and I love it, the thickness increase makes it feel like a more hardy phone and for me it makes it easier to use. Basically is a phone charger for people on the go, anyone who thought this would actually replace the battery should of read the details a bit more. My one worry is that the rubber that holds the phone to the battery will wear badly but only time will tell.

The picture looks good. Somethings we just forgot how thin the smart phones are... an extra skin is just as thick as an old phone.
well after 2 weeks the port broke for charging the case and phone. I sent it in for a refund, as the quality of the port is not very good. Shame because I loved this case.

Looks like they dont want you talking on the phone with this thing..
On a side note: how do these things actually work? Does it constantly keep your phone in charging mode (until the external battery is drained)? or does the phone use your main battery, THEN switch to the external battery (or vice versa)? (sorry I have never used one of these on any phone...only seen them for crapple phones)
Just ordered one will update when tested out.....

It looks a little awkward to get the phone in and out without damaging the usb plug.

When turned on, the external case battery pack will keep the phone battery charged until it's depleted.

I don't think it is a good idea using a case like this since it does nothing to protect the front glass edges of the Note 2 since it is snapping on primarily through the back. If you drop your Note 2 with this on, there is a good chance it will be against the front edges of the glass display and the notable amount of added weight increases the chance of cracking. It is much better to have a standard case that provides a lip and get a cheap $10 spare battery.

I went and checked out the one that ATT has(also listed on web site). It's $99 retail and the battery is in the face cover. The cover is extremely thick and heavy. To my surprise when I went to fold the cover close it wouldn't close. the battery/cover hits the screen of the phone. If you press hard it will lie flat but there is no clasp to close it. The guy at the store couldn't figure it out either. It seemed like a totally terrible design.

I have had a similar one for a while now , in white color costs about 30$ here in singapore , its quite good and sturdy , the drawback mainly is that you cant remove the stylus when you have this case on . but otherwise the case and the battery is good hope we get a better design with the option to remove the spen or hook it up somewhere in the case should also be fine.. instead of in the phone..
Found this by accident while searching for a charger. $25 + $2 shipping. Available in black or white. Built in kickstand.

I just ordered the case that the OP posted. I will let you know as well how I like it. It isn't the perfect design but for the basic functionality of having an extra battery built into the case is good enough for me. The factory battery is already pretty good if you know how to maximize the life of it. I won't use the case everyday, but only during those times when I really need a extra long battery life and don't have access to a charger. And for just under $25 it looks like a good deal to me
Thanks for sharing OP

Looking carefully at the picture at the posted URL, it looks like there is a little dimple where the mic is so you can talk. But it appears to cover the Spen completely.
I received my ZeroLemon battery case for my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge today, and this is my review.
I will be breaking up this review into 3 parts, initial hands on, first 24 hours, and after 1 week.

Initial hands on:
The case itself is split into 3 parts. The main piece is the battery. The battery itself could be used as a standalone battery backup, similar to those found on many websites. It is then connected to the phone via a micro USB U shaped connector. Both the battery and the phone are then placed in the outer casing which has the cutouts for the LED indicators that are built into the battery itself. You are able to press the power button to see (with 4 LED lights) what the current charge on the external battery pack is at. Holding down this power button turns on and off the charger itself. The cutouts for the IR blaster and noise canceling mic are pretty spot on for position. They both seemed pretty centered. The power button and volume keys have a nice tactile press to them, making them easy to use. I like the fact that the bottom of the case has the speaker grills coming out the front of the device. I found it very hard to try and muffle the sound this way. No longer will my hand placement mute my media. The case also comes with a headphone jack adapter, due to the fact that the port is pretty far buried in the case. So far my only gripe is that on the edges of the case, it doesn't seem as snug as the top and bottom is. There is distinctive bowing of the center. That could, however, be due to the fact that I have a skin on the back of the device, making it just slightly thicker than the original version would be. I won't be able to verify this, as I am not going to try to remove the skin. The case has a good heft to it. It's not too heavy, but it does give a more distinguishable weight to the phone. The way the case curves around the backside really just makes the whole thing fit comfortably in my hand. Also, even with the added bulk, the case still fits comfortably in my pocket. I have tested, and NFC no longer works, which is to be expected at this thickness. My biggest downside with the case is that I cannot connect it to my computer to transfer files without first taking it back out of the case.
After using the case for 24 hours I've come across things I both like and dislike. My phone is currently at a full charge after being off the charger since 9am. My zerolemon case is at half capacity, meaning I should be able to get another full day's use before the case is completely empty and I'm relying on the phone's battery alone. I would say that I have used the device a moderate amount, which is leading me to believe I could get an impressive full 3 day's use before charging again. I have found that while the speaker is protected from being covered by having the media come out of the front, it is now slightly tinny in sound. It isn't horrible, but it's definitely noticeable. I have also found that there are slight defects sound where the case meets the camera, looking like slight nics out of the material.
So I've had the case for 7 days now. I find it especially useful on slow days at work when I'm constantly on my phone. I still haven't dropped the phone, so I don't know how well the case actually stands up to damage. I did have one night where I didn't keep the phone on the charger all night, so the case itself wasn't actually charged. It would be nice if the input charger was higher than the output charge, so the case would charge at the same time as the phone instead of after. This case definitely came in handy when my family went to my grandmother's 90th birthday party an hour away. I was able to watch shows on the way there, as well as take lots of pictures and videos during the party, and still have plenty of battery life for the ride home. Between the bulk and the lack of NFC and wireless charging though, I don't see myself using the case every day. I see myself using this case only during trips and long slow days at work.
It's not the skin. The case doesn't fit snugly around the sides. And at least in my case, it eventually started messing with the screen protector, which is a bit annoying. Between changing ROMs and Kernels I'm able to get a whole day's worth of battery and if I have heavier usage than usual I just find it better to be able to use QiCharging. I used to love my ZeroLemon battery for the Note 3, if they make one similar for the S6 Edge I'll gladly buy it, but as it stands, I don't find it worth losing features over.
I just bought this along with another brand battery case from Amazon today, and they should be here tonight. I'll be curious to see how mine is. I've always been a Mophie guy with my iPhones.
I've received my two cases. This ZeroLemon one, and a Wekin one with a stand. They both fit very well, though I feel the ZeroLemon design to be over complicated, and I have a general distaste for TPU cases. The Wekin one is considerably slimmer. I'll add some more info once I've tested the actual batteries.
One issue I have, that may actually spur me to return this case, is the fact that it doesn't stay charging once the battery in the phone is full. I prefer to follow Mophie's way and use the battery in the pack first when I do use a battery case, which is not every day.
Here goes my review on the case:
Build/Quality - 8/10
Practicality - 9/10
Price - 10/10
Battery Life - 9/10
Build/Quality
At first glance, this case is very generic looking and has no character to it at all. That being said, you slowly start unraveling the fact that there was intricate time put into the attempt of this concept. The case is made of a TPU like material that is rigid, yet flexible. It fits snugly around the phone and hugs the curves to a fault. I'll explain why I say that later. The overall feel in hand is very solid. For someone with big hands and for the type of phone this is, edge variant, there is something to be said about how ergonomic this case makes the S6 edge. Now when I say it hugs to a fault, as you can see in the picture it is a tight fit and lifted my screen protector. I consider myself somewhat of a self proclaimed expert in this realm and could not get it on without disturbing the Liquid IQ Shield screen protector. This is why I dinged it a bit. It isn't as screen protector friendly as I'd hoped. That is probably the biggest downfall. The biggest positive is that the LED indicator lights for the battery pack are extremely useful. I love them and think they make this case/battery pack awesome.
Final Score - 8/10
Practicality
How practical is it to add this kind of bulk to the case and does it make a difference? I found that the case was a great concept, yet it's more brilliant upon closer inspection. What I mean by that is that you may or may not think its worth it, but I'll tell you why I believe it is.
Use cases: Long road trips, traveling (flights), long days at work, forget your charger, appointments (doctors/dentist visits usually consume more battery, crushing those CANDIES!), and other scenarios.
This case offers the protection of a case like an Otterbox or a Life Proof case, but adds the functionality of a Morphie case. However, that's not all it can do. upon closer inspection, you can see that this is a 2 in 1 bundle. Sure you can utilize this as part of the case and carry it on the phone. But this is also a battery pack. Because of this you could essentially charge this battery pack and carry it with you. It's so small it becomes a secondary function of the case. So you are really purchasing 2 items for the price of one. That makes this highly practical because for people that do not want the extra bulk, they have purchased a 2 for 1 and can use it without the case on a day to day basis and drop it in the case when they are on the go.
Final Score - 10/10
Price
That leads me into the price discussion. Is the price worth it? YES! Simply put, yes. An Otterbox case is about $30 - $60, a battery pack is around $20, an extra charger is about $15. If you think about these general figures. The cost of this case for a hybrid battery pack and case is a steal. You are getting a good value for the money (Currently $29.99). I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this at the price point they set.
Final Score - 10/10
Battery Life
Now comes, arguably, the most important part of the review. Does it give you enough juice? I say yes and no. I say yes because any juice is adequate extra juice. I say no because as a power user I always want more. But I think I landed on the fact that this is a stellar case to have for the power it does grant. I was able to extend the phone by half to 1 full day on heavy use. This means that I would be able to give myself an extra charge to give me more power use and finish off the day. On light usage days I could feel comfortable not charging the phone and still getting to the end of the next day. Power use to me entails: emails, app use, web surfing, etc.
I would say that this about doubled my screen on time of 3 - 4 hours to about 6 - 8 hours and increased my general use time from 10 - 14 hours to 20 - 28 hours (excluding stand by time that happens while sleeping, not using at all).
Final Score - 8/10
Conclusion:
I would not hessitate to pick this case up. If you are going on camping trips, if you are going to be away from an outlet, if you are just going to be at the office for a long day or even if you are going to be on business trips or road trips, this case provides ample use cases. That combined with the fact that it can double as a battery pack, makes the cost entirely worth it. I think Zero Lemon could make small improvements to this case by including the option to obtain 2 battery packs instead of one. They could also stand to improve the textures and feel of the case that they include with the battery. Even color variety and customization could liven up the product line. But the fact still remains that it is a solid product and I think it's worth buying.
OVERALL SCORE - 9/10

Yeah, that's definitely a problem. Another thing that has to be considered is that the bottom of the case sits fairly close to the home button so it would make sense to add a fingerprint profile with the case on to ensure it works with both case off and on.
Zerolemon Case Review
Dislcosure: I received my Zerolemon Case for free in return for posting this review.
So I have had this case for about a month now and a few things really stuck out to me and were the determining factors on whether or not I will be using this as my everyday case.
Packaging/Design - Overall I think the packaging and design are great. The product was well packaged/protected and the case itself is a very nice fit with maybe two minimal flaws. For the way the battery has to be connected and positioned I think the case does a great job of being snug enough to keep the battery in place and protect the phone. I didn't notice any "shifting" of the phone while it was in the case as was a problem with previous/similar Zerolemon cases on my previous phones. That being the case, I did notice after the first time I installed the case that it was so snug it pulled up the screen protector (skin) at the bottom corners of the phone. Luckily with the skin I installed I was able to just press it back down and no harm was done. On future installs I was able to develop a method to putting the case on where it didn't pull up the bottom portion of the screen protector anymore basically eliminating this issue. The other issue though with the case, that has been mentioned in other reviews is that the sides of the case aren't quite as snug as the rest of it and actually bow down and slightly away from the side thus not being quite as snug on the sides as well as causing a bit of a weird "gap push" when trying to press the power or volume buttons. For me it required a little bit more pressure to actually press the buttons which I guess to some can be a positive as it helps avoid accidentally pressing them while in hand or in your pocket.
Functionality - So when I first got the case I was actually headed down to the 24 Hour Disney Day at Walt Disney World. It was perfect timing because this would be a great way to test the performance of the battery and its practicality. By the time we got to the event at 9pm on Friday my phone was at 100% and the case was had 3 of 4 lights lit indicating it was somewhere around 75% capacity (Note: it had not had a full charge/cycle yet, it was right out of the box). By the time we left the park at 7am Saturday morning my phone was at 23% and the case had 1 of 4 lights lit. I was definitely using my phone heavily throughout the event taking tons of photos and video and checking social media mentions of the event. There was however one issue that I haven't been able to replicate but only experienced while the phone was in the case. There was a good bit of time where I couldn't access the phone's video camera because I was getting an "overheating" warning which would grey out the video camera until the phone cooled down to whatever the acceptable temperature is. That was a bit annoying because of course it happened right when I was wanting to take some video of the event. Other times I have used the case I haven't had this issue and overall it has performed as advertised. However, it has it's drawbacks even when performing as advertised. First of which is the loss of NFC. I have actually been able to use Google Wallet fairly regularly around town as many of the merchants that I shop at accept it and it is quite convenient. To all of the sudden not be able to use it seems like a step backwards. The other drawback is the charging rates, both input and output. I mean, HOLY COW, did it seem to take forever just to charge a 3500mAh battery and the phone versus just charging the phone and my external "myCharge" 6000mAh battery. Not to mention it's charging rate back to the phone was around 1-1.5A whereas the myCharge is around 1.8-2.4A. I tend to lean more towards the myCharge because it charges my phone faster and I don't have to be tethered to it or carry the extra bulk with my phone when I don' t necessarily need it.
Conclusion - Overall the case/battery performed as advertised and for the price ($29.99) it is actually a really good deal considering you get a battery and a case. Unfortunately, with the advancements of fast charging and fancier/larger external batteries that can allow you to charge multiple devices at once I see this kind of battery eventually falling by the wayside especially given the loss of certain functions as I and others have mentioned. Would I recommend this case to someone, honestly.....probably not. I would probably recommend an external battery charger with a higher capacity and multiple ports for charging multiple devices that would probably cost $20-$30 more but with a lot more to offer. Suffice it to say, I will most likely not be using the case again.
I received my case yesterday and I have to say I kinda like it like this , yes yes I know takes away the premium build etc but a premium build is useless if the phone is out of charge . It's not as bulky as I thought it would be .
The weight makes the phone feel like its secure in your hand versus the really light slippery feel an S6 has .
Doesn't take long to charge and I can also use this pack to charge other devices . I havent tried wireless charging yet .
All in all for the price , its a boss deal
I'll give it a 10/10

I can technically get 4 hours SOT too but only if I leave the brightness at like 10%, stay on wifi the whole time, don't do anything more power intensive than browsing and stay in an area that has excellent cell reception and even then it's dead like 10-12 hours after I take it off the charger.
If I do anything that is even moderately power intensive like video(streaming or local), music(streaming or local), GPS, any games(even simple ones), go somewhere without wifi, increase brightness, etc then it's dead much sooner.

I can technically get 4 hours SOT too but only if I leave the brightness at like 10%, stay on wifi the whole time, don't do anything more power intensive than browsing and stay in an area that has excellent cell reception and even then it's dead like 10-12 hours after I take it off the charger.

That's crazy. I use my phone quite often. GPS and WiFi always on. I think this battery is almost as good as my OPO which had the best batter I've ever had. I used it aggressively and averaged 5-6 SOT.

I feel like this phone has no margine for error. You need a really good signal, h+, perfect parts, ect to get 5-6 hours of SoT. The battery feels like an afterthought to the design. I too can manage that SoT but it's heavily babying the phone, turning off things, running custom scripts ect.
Back on the subject at hand . I too would pay for one. Just for the peace of mind. Also it's a small phone so an extra 800mha battery wouldn't make it too bulky imho.
Any word on a battery case?
I'm surprised there still isn't a battery case released. I realize the 5x may not be the most popular of nexus devices but given the somewhat limited battery capacity of the phone I would think there would be a decent roi for a companyvlike mophie or mugen.
5x battery case mostly likely has been delayed due to the new type C port.
I'm my opinion no one probably wants to invest in the type c and rather reverse engineer the product after someone else has done the hard work. ROI is there but it's always a gamble to be the first. I would easily pay over $100(even $200 for really nice, evenly balanced battery back, fast charge, dare i say +12,000mAH) but not everyone is in the same boat as me.
I don't know why I'm so interested in this, because the battery already lasts longer than my previous phone... But I would love to have one.
I for one would like a battery case that adds Micro SD support
If only this took off... https://www.kickstarter.com/project...only-microsd-expandable-phone-c/posts/1396276
Yeah I saw one of those... Pretty neat idea for adding storage. A battery + storage + Qi case would be sweet eh?

I wonder if another possible issue contributing to the lack of battery cases is the location of the fingerprint sensor. A lot of people like having the fingerprint sensor on the back but it probably creates a problem for battery case makers.
I don't know if non-rectangular batteries are possible, but assuming they're not all the extra battery would to be stuffed into the bottom of the case, and then the case would need to taper its bulk to a thin point where the finger print sensor is. It might end up looking weirder than the iPhone battery case, and probably would lead to a poorly balanced phone.
Either that, or just completely cover the fingerprint sensor with battery.
You have this power bank and can be on your wallet

Why bother?
I am just using (or rare occasion), Kingston Mobilelite Wireless G2 as powerbank and storage (via WIFI).
looking into a new phone i happened across the 5x, it seems great all over EXCEPT the lack of aftermarket battery options, especially annoying since the 5x's battery life is panned just about everywhere
if i could work with a phablet i'd use a nexus 6 or 6p (the 6p already has a big aftermarket) but...those are just too big
Sooo im thinking about making one. I did that in my old M7 days and it worked well. You take a huge 2-3 layer case and cut it out and insert the battery pack. The question is does anyone know of a thin wallet sized usb c power bank? Can't seem to find one on Amazon...
I recently received the 8500 mAh battery case for my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from Zero Lemon. I have had previous battery cases from them, including for the S6 Edge.
In terms of the most important aspect of this case, the battery, I was able to have about 3 days use before I needed to charge it again. I charged both my phone and the case Friday night. I started from Saturday 10:05am 100% until my phone reached 15% and the case was depleted on Monday at 9:28pm. This case is great for long trips, or extended time away from a charger. I will soon be going on vacation, and this will be extremely helpful for the journey there.
As for price - $60 for now. Seems high in terms of mAh as a standalone battery, but It's a good price for a battery case, considering the Note 5 is the same price and has 3000 mAh less capacity.
In terms of features, the only thing missing is NFC and wireless charging. That's to be expected, considering the size of the case. With the case on, the phone is a little less than an inch thick. Don't expect it to look pretty, but it comes in a variety of colors, as long as that color is black. It would be nice for more color options, but I'm not too picky. The case allows for fast through-charging, and it will charge your phone first and the case second. It comes with an extra micro to micro USB adapter in case the first gets lost or broken. It even has a full USB port to charge another device at the same time. I was able to charge both the phone and case overnight, so even at the large capacity, it won't take too long before getting to 100%. The thickness of the case did not interfere with the camera or flash, but it does make it difficult to use the biometric sensor on the back. I heard no complaints about my voice being muffled while on calls either, but the speaker does become a bit muffled when listening to music or another type of media.
If you have any kind of skin on your phone, it will have a hard time fitting in this case. The back skin I had fit fine, but the front kept bunching up where it slid under the case edge. I eventually took off the front skins from my phone. The buttons are a little hard to press, it would have been nice to have them attached as a separate button instead of just a single piece molding. The LEDs on the back of the case indicate what level the battery is at. However, it didn't seem entirely accurate as to the indicators. Monday morning the lights were showing 50%, but it was dead before it fully charged my phone back up. The lights are also a bit bright at night, I was actually able to use them to find my way around in the dark. The case of course also makes the phone quite heavy.
All in all, if you are looking to extend the life of your phone away from an outlet, this case is a good way to go. As long as you are fine with a thick black brick of a case, you will be able to spend at least a couple days away from a charger. At $60, the case is a good price for the capacity you get, just be sure to get it now before the price goes up. Be ready to carry a phone with over 11000 mAh, and a thickness close to an inch.

Hmmm
I'm thinking about getting one of these. How do they perform? Worth the price?
Zero Lemon Returning Customer
So I recently purchased the Zero Lemon extended battery case. I should note that I have used the following cases from Zero Lemon:
ZL Samsung Galaxy Note 2 extended battery
ZL Samsung Galaxy Note 3 extended battery
ZL Samsung Galaxy S6 battery case
ZL Samsung Galaxy S6 edge battery case
This is not my first rodeo when it comes to extended batteries or extended battery cases. I will spare the boring drawn out details and paint the most accurate picture I can about this case.
Pros:
Large Battery
LED Battery life indicator
Smart charging
Power on/off
Clean design
Full size USB port
Cons:
Buttons are not clicky
Case is VERY big
Overall impression: I think that with every iteration of these cases Zero Lemon learns something. This case is definitely a culmination of what they have improved from their past mistakes. It's not to say they don't have room for improvement, but this is definitely the best case they have made so far. I was able to get about 3 day s of usage and about like 12 - 14 hours of screen on time with this extended battery. I feel that it offers ample battery life for those that like to travel or need to be off the charger for very long periods. I think that they design of the case itself could use some much improved changes. I don't like that the buttons are very difficult to press and are almost flush. I think that part of it needs work. I do love the LED indicator on the battery itself. One of my favorite parts of this case is that you can use it as a case or as a backup battery charger. Because they continue to go with the modular approach, you can use the pieces independently and I think that's very smart. The only thing I would say is that for the price point they have it at, they should have better quality for the case.
FINAL IMPRESSION: If you can get this for $40 or less and are in desperate need of charging on the go, buy this case. If you can only buy this for $60, I don't feel that it offers anything that is above and beyond a standalone battery charger. There are also better looking battery cases out there if you are willing to spend that much. They made a great product, but it needs a little improvement on aesthetics. If Zero Lemon is reading, work on the case itself because the battery is stellar and the product is a solid 8/10 right now for me.
Cool review I was looking for a case like this for my Mom's phone.
I've used other products from Gorilla Gadgets but I have never used this case. Has anybody ever purchased this? Right now it is just sitting in my cart. I don't really think my Mom needs this much power, but she still wants one. I guess the more Candy Crush she can play, the better.

I can appreciate the potential usefulness but it looks ridiculous .
I'd have a separate bank anytime.
how is it for taking pictures? do you see the edges of the cover? can you take a screenshot of it

Dude, are you a Gorilla Gadgets employee or what? You keep promoting them in the Note 4, S5 and other places that I've checked.

IMHO it is too bulky. It is a product with a great quality. But I would definitely choose it over some cheap chinese knock offs. I will make a suggestion of which I come while mourning after the ARA project. They gave me hope that modularity is not dead. Those are Nexpaq and I-blades, brands that deserve much greater attention. Otterbox has a similar product which I don't think is available for the S7E, though they go in the right direction also. I am sick and tired of the narrow-mindedness of the producers that launch poor excuses of cases.

LOL really. A power bank would be more suitable
In fact, the I-blades is like a power bank. It is slim and the module is snapped on the case. And you can snap, like..10 modules and use whatever you want, and after you snap off, whatever you don't need.

Awesome. What kind of modules?
I'm undecided about this. Looks so bulky but I don't see a whole lot of other manufacturers coming through with an alternative. I might have to just go for it.

When you purchase the smart case you can choose which module to purchase with the case. The case has a magnetic snapping system on which the modules are attached. The basic ones are the battery/memory, blades/modules. They carry 2500 mAh and 64GB. There is the enviro-sensor module, an air quality check module, and VR blades. I like the concept, a lot.
I also like nexpaq, but they haven't launched anything since the case for the s6. And their modules leave a hole, or you'll need empty modules. Also related, check the Otterbox uniVerse that holds great ideas.
I wonder how much time will be needed until Samsung gets out with similar products
As someone who has always had a ZeroLemon on all my phones since the S3, getting this for the S7 edge was a no-brainer. I've also been the type to always get a screen protector for all my gadgets with shiny displays. I always go for glass if available, too. I'm finding out right now, having tried two so far, that this S7 edge might be the first in a very long time I won't be putting on a screen protector. Lol. The 9H glass that the ZeroLemon comes with is too narrow and it's pretty distracting watching something on my phone, seeing the lines where the screen protector ends.
I've tried those wet-applied screen protectors and I hate those. They're easier to apply but the surface is never 100% smooth like glass or plastic. Then I found Nextec on Amazon. It's made from the same material as those wet-applied ones except it's a dry, peel-off type. I think this screen protector is great by itself but the ZeroLemon TPU case pushes on it causing it to peel off.
Anyone here been running the S7 edge without a screen protector long-term? How has your phone held up?
Always tempted to buy one of these, but I just can't justify the size and inconvenience of the case. For a fraction of the price I could purchase a decent battery bank and carry that around with me, but put it away when I'm done with it and continue using my slim phone. I purchased one of these for my old phone and rarely used it. I would be tempted, however, for the extra convenience when on long trips or not needing to carry my phone around but the price tag would have to drop for me to show interest.

Yeah. I took my screen protector off because I got sick of the feel, and the glass ones don't combine well with cases. I'm about six months down the line — you can't beat the feel, responsiveness and the clarity of the screen without any protector covering it. After 6 months, I've only really got a few micro-scratches that you cannot even see unless you specifically tilt the phone against a certain light and hunt for them. Glad I ditched the protector.
Since I last posted, my screen has been naked and I've incurred one tiny micro scratch that freaked me out. I took one of the extra screen protectors I had lying around (for S7 edge) and cut off the top and bottom in order to avoid the corners being pushed in. So far so good but it is hella ugly to look at. Sigh.
I was checking out Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Screen Protector, Icheckey [Upgraded] 3D Curved Full Coverage Tempered Glass Screen Protector Cover for Samsung Galaxy S7 edge as a good recommendation for front protection with the zerolemon. I bought the zerolemon for my wifes phone and it has worked great so far, lasts almost 3 days with lots of use... twitter, facebook, videos, etc... the screen protector that came with it was a joke, looked like crap too, so hopefully this will work out better.
Do you guys think this battery case would be better off, when the phone's sealed battery has degraded to a point where it won't hold a charge? This battery case then becomes the removable battery for the phone. Please let me know.. I feel my S7 Edge's battery has started to degrade though just a tad bit.
I had this case, my friends call it the brick, it broke a glass table when it was dropped on it. Phone survived.
I liked it, lasted about 7 months before the battery started to go, was dang near exploding before i replaced it.
Now I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G5YRZFC/ Only gives me an extra day of charge, 1.5 if i turn down brightneess, dont play games, etc....
