I have the Note 5 running on Firmware N920CXXU2BPE4 which I see comes from Russsia!! I understand that the Note 5 SM-N920C is a variant of the International version and was therefore wondering if I could flash other MM firmwares such as the Australian one N920IDVU2BPE3?
Thanks

You can't Odin flash firmwares for other models. You can use their custom roms but not their Odin firmware.
Does that mean I can't flash firmware for the N920i and only flash firmware meant for the N920C?
Thanks

Yes, that's correct.
Plenty of roms' support the 920I variant. It's probably the 2-3rd most popular variant next to C, T.

Instead of waiting on this firmware to be pushed to the Tmobile specific N4, is it possible to use the intl snapdragon firmware available on the sammobile site?
The international snapdragon variant is SM-N910F. The Tmobile variant is SM-N910T.
My battery life isn't horrendous. But its not what I was getting on my OnePlus or 6+. Before returning/waiting for Lollipop to be pushed, I just want to see if this firmware update will actually help.

Not possible to install a stock rom from a different variant. The only way you can install it, is that if you can cook it and make a custom rom out of it then install it via custom recovery(which is not yet available for tmobile)

Well damn. Thanks for the quick response though.
Guess I'll hold out for a few more days to see if it hits the Tmo variant.
Strangely enough, I have a German T-Mobile SM-N910F
I thought custom recovery was available. Don't we all have the ability to root or are developers using a different method?
Both devices are virtually identical, software being the exception.

through custom recovery prbly yes. You have to look in the custom roms section. But you cant install n910F rom through odin, it will simply fail to install

Sorry for necropost but... any differences between different variants hardware wise?
My previous phone was a Vodafone Xperia Z2, then I flashed a Generic/Unbranded Z2 rom without problems, and I even received OTA updates to the latter, like it was a Generic version. Isn't this possible on Samsung's?
sorry for bumping up a old thread but is it possible to flash this on my n910t?

Hey my man, so the note 4 is backwards compatible like the note 3 was?? I used to be able to flash an international ROM (X-NOTE, my favorite)then flash BT/NFC FIX along with a T-Mobile kernel before first boot and it worked great!
I've been out of the loop for a while now. The last Samsung phone I had was the Note 2.
I have the SM-N9200 variant of the phone. Is it possible to flash a firmware from SM-N9208 or SM-N920I, etc.?
I'm pretty sure you can flash any i firmwares on i variants and same with the others but not on mismatching models. Modems won't work.

I've been looking high and low for an answer to this question before posting this. I bought a 64gb N920S Note 5 version because it handles both the 800mhz and 1800mhz LTE bands that my UK carrier Three uses. I'd love to get rid of the SK-Telecom ROM customisations though. I understand that the N920C also covers these 2 LTE bands so would I be able to use my N920SK Note 5 on the Three network running N920C FW??

Definitely NOT the kernel
Thanks for the reply. I did try flashing the latest N920C stock FW (Turkey) via odin but it failed immediately. Is this due to the kernel then? Do I therefore need to flash a custom recovery then USE that to flash a different kernel before attempting to flash the N920C fw again?

Would flashing TWRP recovery using this to flash arter97 kernal alllow me to then flash Turkey N920CXXU2AOK6O onto my N920S?

Really wanting to get the stock international N920C onto my Note 5

Anyone?
Just bumping this.
Does anyone know a way that I can flash my N920S with N920C stock firmware but NOT the N920C Kernal ?
I'm guessing the Odin flash is failing because the 920C Kernal is incompatible with the N920S?
Hello
Currently I have US unlocked note 8 and using Telus which is one of Canadian carriers.
Unfortunately Volte is not available for US unlocked note 8 probably due to different CSC country code.
If I flash firmware for Canadian will I fully be able to use carrier specific features?
Is there any guide for this ?
Thanks for reading.

Hey! I have kind of a similar issue. i bought my s8 from Canada (service provider : bell). When i moved back to India, i needed region specific apps like SPay to work. Then i could manage to change CSC code from BMC (Bell) to XAC (Canada unlocked). However, i need to change it to INS. I downloaded Indian s8 firmware. But i am not sure if i can flash HOME_CSC using Odin as my S8 is a snapdragon variant(obviously) and I'm really worried if it would brick my device. Or if i would not receive OTA's (Because ONE UI is all I'm looking for) . Please guide me here.
