Is this normal??

Hi. I've bought a Xiaomi Mi5 and i'm experiencing some weird notification popups. Please see pictures below.

This one is from Telegram app but it happens in many other apps.
Does someone have this issue?

I had the same issue, changed to xiaomi eu rom, the issue is gone and have no problem with it whatsoever

Thanks for the quick response. Can you provide me the link for that ROM? do i need to unlock bootloader? to install that ROM, can i make it through the MIUI OS updater?

I think its got to do with either your theme or if your using launcher. My notifications were this way with the action launcher.
10th May - I can confirm its due to theme. Choose them wisely.

Hi, I have the same problem and have tried several themes, I'm pretty sure none of them corrected it. I'm on MIUI Global 7.2.4.0 Stable (can't change the ROM yet, but I will as soon as I can).

The problem isn't related with a theme. Apparently i bought the Mi5 with a non official ROM.
Solution: I've unlocked my bootloader and flashed a different ROM form xiaomi.eu. Problem Solved!

Hydrogen V8.1.3.0 Global Rom MBCMIDI 1.3GB

Idk if this is really news since there's a how to root MIUI 8.1.3.0 guide already
But im getting Miui 8.1.3.0 MBCMIDI pushed to me atm, and its a big 1.3GB rom.
All it says is "Optimization - improved system security (11-29"
If there's anything can I can do to help the community regarding this rom lmk + instructions and ill do my best to help..

Post a changelog (screanshot) if a more detailed one appears after you install.

You should really post that in news and discussion forum, not here. This sub forum is for ROM, kernel development, so this post got nothing to do whit it.

Puff... They didn't touched the kernel side from 8.1.2 same version, same signature. Will probably skip this one...

Im in canada too and i haven't rooted or unlocked my phone.
i just bought a used Mimax today and it says im up to date on 7.3.14 global stable.

If you're still on miui 7 and you checked for update and it says you're up to date, there's a chance that your rom is currently running a fake global ROM. I had that experience with my Mi 5 before.
Check here http://en.miui.com/download-302.html , global ROM now for hydrogen is 8.1.4.0.

With new update 9 Pie MR2 Razer Phone 2 cannot Root !!!

There is new update pushed today for RP2 with a lot of improvement.
I wonder if someone can Root this. I try many times to root with no luck so i returned to previous update to root.
I just want to install Magisk nothing more.

What is the list of improvements? The image you posted is broken.

when i bought the phone it has already the new update the December release cuz my phone is used and that's why i'm looking for a way to root it i tried too many ways and my phone keeps bricking and i have the global version.

Make sure you're using thr proper kernel to root latest global.

What steps have failed? Magisk Manager does properly patch the MR2 boot.img from the stock firmware. Happy to help if you're running into trouble.

Can you explain what are you trying to do. Moreover, I don't think realme flash tool supports realme c3 yet.

I wanted to install a custom rom on my device but as there is no ROM available for rmx2027, can i install the ROMs and Recovery made for rmx2020 on it. Are they both the same?
Please somebody help me on this.

Question Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra with Chinese ROM not allowing me to change country to UK in Google play . I currently live in UK but still can't change the country

Is your bootloader unloacked? If you have unlocked your bootloader, you can flash the EEA rom or Global rom or flash TWRP and install a Xiaomi.eu rom. All of those allow for regional changes in setup.

I'd advise you to just get the Xiaomi.EU Rom. Just pick the Stable one IMO

Is there no way to resolve it without flashing the ROM? I am little apprehensive about flashing the ROM as I have not done the before

Have you tried more locale 2 app from play store? If not, you give it a try

It's the version of GMS that gets installed by some shops before shipping. It doesn't have location tracing and a few others and really is not much use if you are outside China. As others have said, get your bootloader unlocked, wait the 168 hours and change over to the EU ROM. I got a work around. Just created a new Gmail I'd and now everything is working fine

Glad you have found a way around your country settings. You may well find other shortcomings in the mini GMS too. Only resolution is to flash a full GMS included ROM. But as long as your needs are catered for, it's all good.
