I was stupid enough to start messing with system/apps before making a nandroid backup and it looks like I've removed a T-MO app that hooks to Wi-Fi calling. Anyone have a backup of the stock system partition?

or a list of apps and supporting files removed from your original release?
Hey I have a problem here. I'm coming from your very first ROM to this one. It was running great smooth as butter until now. I tried flashing this new ROM but my phone wouldn't boot up, it wouldn't get past the first Samsung screen just keeps restarting. I made sure to follow step by step instructions. Wiped everything but my SD card. Tried it 2 more times and nothing. Tried to wipe cache and all that. Nothing helped. So I decided to restore back to my backed up ROM. Once restored it started to act weird. My finger print scanner doesn't work and I can't download anything another than apps from app store...the phone is very glitchy almost like it has a virus. I tried and tried to reset things but no luck. I don't have a backup of stock Dev ROM unfortunately... Anyone help please?

Go here download the StockRestore tar, flash that in odin and you should be good to go. Then you can flash this rom if you like. You shouldn't have to wipe anything but if you run into errors just do a factory reset. FYI the stock restore is pretty much the same as this rom without knox removed, SU will ask if you want to disable it or you can freeze/remove it with TB so technically there is really no reason to flash this after the odin restore.

Is this the way, on my newly unlocked, rooted DE, US Verizon note 4, running 5.1.1 android, to get back to Kitkat? I loved the speed, and battery life for two days, in the original Kitkat. Unfortunately, I lost the ability to go back with OTA updates .
Had to rub my eyes to make sure I was seeing a new rom for 4.4.4!!!!! YeeeeHaaaa!
Thank you so much.
On Definitive ROM now, but will try this when i get home.
What kernel would you recommend?
thanks again!
Can't seem to figure out how to install this, with my newly unlocked, rooted DE, Verizon Note 4. I would love to go back to original Kit Kat!

I've got to echo this question/statement. I've been going around in circles for about two months on and off trying various methods and combinations of kernels and roms and firmwares in order to downgrade. I've unlocked the bootloader about 4 times now in my quest and every time eventually have ended with the "software update failed" screen forcing me to re-partition and flash MM again. A few random places on the internet seem to infer that it's nigh impossible to get back to kitkat. If that's the case then so be it, but why?
I've searched and searched and experimented and experimented some more but can't seem to find a way past 5.1.1. Heck I can't even seem to get to OAF flashed successfully (one website instructs being at 5.0.1 before being able to dgrade to kitkat). Any help would be appreciated. I've thought about starting a thread but with the derision this kind of question gets (even though I've tried quite a bit on my own), this seems like a better place to post for now.
Cheers!
I was thinking of upgrading from a custom 4.4.4 rom to custom 5.0.1 rom. I will do a clean flash but was wondering if I brought the data for programs/saved games (not apk) over would it have any conflicts on the programs or lollipop in general? I am unlocked, rooted and S-Off.

I guess it depends on the app, you'll just have to try & see what's compatible

I did a backup with titanium and so far all apps restored with data fine. ( just restored the ones I need)
However I didn't test games, and I think some apps might have problems especially since lollipop doesn't support dalvik runtime.
Restoring app data should be fine as long as its not from a recovery backup. This could cause a bootloop or fc on some system apps.
Currently I am multibooting sense 4.4.4 and gpe lollipop, in case I missed something.

That it's what I figured that I would have to just see what works.

I didn't even think of going the multi rom option because I could see what works and still have the 4.4.4 data in case it doesn't work in 5.0.1.
Few questions
1. I have sprint and nexus 6. Ideally I'd like a stock rom, but with the clear recent tasks button in the bottom, and enabled tethering, and also rooted. What minimalist or close to stock rom would you suggest? I am tired of using stock and having a pain every time there is an OTA update whereby it won't flash and having to go through the steps of editing build.prop and the sql database file to enable tethering.
2. What is the easiest way to keep a custom rom up to date. I just want it to almost behave like stock with updates easy to obtain and near automatic. Is there an app or rom that has this feature?
3. what is the difference between factory build LMY48M and LMY47Z? They are both listed as 5.1.1
4. I use titanium backup. However, if i update a rom and just save user data (when i previously had it save system data I had a problem) and after i flash restoring user data, I notice many of the settings such as my bluetooth and smart lock etc. settings aren't saved. Any suggestion to streamline the flashing process further?
Thanks for your help and advice!

you do realize that all you have to do to update a rooted stock rom is flash the system.img via fastboot, then quickly reroot(flash the supersu file)? yes, its that easy.
oh, and i backup my apps and settings through google. every time i wipe, google will restore all my apps, my wallpaper, and my system settings.
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/ doesn't have to get changed if you just flash system img?

no. that is if you don't wipe data. you wont lose any data flashing just the system.img. you will lose SuperSU though. but all you have to do is reflash it.
Is there a TWRP for the Nexus 6? Can I go from stock rooted to CM12 & back without bricking?

Yes, TWRP is available for the Nexus 6.
And yes you can go from stock rooted, to a different ROM (CM12 if you want) and back without any problems.
Hi, I have a nexus 6 on Verizon running Euphoria OS and I want to go back to the stock ROM so I can get marshmallow when it comes out. I've looked online and when I run the flash-all.bat it says it can't load the bootloader and everything else. I don't care if I lose my data, I just want to get the stock ROM. Any help?
Did you get your question answered?
Mm roms
If your already rooted there are several MM roms available right here pre rooted.
Download MRA58K factory image from Google, extract all files, flash all imgs except for userdata. Voila! You're on Marshmallow with all of your data saved.
Hi,
Currently i'm running in 5.0.2.
Is there any way/possibilities to upgrade my firmware to 5.1.1 or the latest firmware without losing any of my apps + data (include messaging, etc). I only knew the way is to backup all my apps using titanium but i'm afraid when restore back it will cause some error due to the new 5.1.1 environment. Need some advice. Thank you.
if you can do what you have to do is if you do it by flashtool you should not tick the option, apps and user log data and if you do not do the same recovery from wipes just install the rom.
Thank you. Will try as your adviced.
