Battery Drain - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
I bought a Z3+ on the 2nd of July here in Germany and the Battery has been draining at an Alarming rate (I upgraded it to MM as soon as i got it out of the box)
In 6 hours i am down to 32% with 2 hours mins of SoT (Whatsapp messages and a few minutes of browsing) , 90 mins of Calls.
Also the battery stats shows very Basic information (attached file), the rows for GPS, WiFi etc right below the Battery graph is not there (or perhaps it was removed in Sony's UI?)
I have reset the phone once already, Wifi scanning is off, I never use bluetooth. I don't have the Facebook app. The apps that i have installed are Whatsapp, Yahoo Mail and DeutscheBahn Navigator
Should i ask for a replacement? The battery life is truly horrible

Did you do a soft reset? (That mantains your apps/files/information) or a full reset? (Where you need to enter your Google Account and install everything again.
Mine only stopped the battery drain with a full reset.

I saw this and other problems with 3 kitakami devices after the upgrade to MM, the only thing that helped solving all problems was allways to reflash (repair) the complete FW with Sony Companion. Attention this delete everything.

Reset as in Via Sony Companion Software (Software Repair).
Also is it possible to see Mobile Network Signal, WiFi, Awake, Screen ON, GPS under the Battery graph?

Also when the signal is poor and the device is overheating, it drains battery very fast. Although i also recommend re-install with xperia companion

Re-installed/Repair done twice, the battery stays good for one or two cycles and goes back to being crappy again. Surprisingly there is no heating issue
The signal is never poor where i live and WiFi router is in my room and i turn WiFi off when i leave my house.
Anyway contacted Sony, they wanted me to send the phone to them and could not give a approximate time frame as to when they would send the mobile back but Amazon is offering me a refund/replacement.
Not sure if i should ask for a replacement or get a refund and get a different phone
Anyidea what is with the battery graph (attached image in the first post)

Try battery stats and see what is using your Partial Kernel Wakelocks. For me it was the Google backup feature.

Samsung Galaxy S Battery Drain

Hi,
im having battery drain problems the phone wont last more than 5-6 hours send 20-30 texts listen to some music, i have turned off backgroud data and live wallpapers, im using something called advanced task killer free to kill the apps that are running, but i close them the re open the task bar and stuff like music player has reopened
ive also seen a post about which batterys are better is there a better one i can buy? my batterys a G7
any ideas ?
cheers
Stop using the task kiler and you'll probably see better battery life. Task killers have been proven more harmful than helpful on the newer versions of android so using it is pointless. Also pay attention to what you have synced and how often. tons of web apps synching will drain the battery faster, as will having the gps and wifi turned on--if you're not using them, disable them.
thanks for the reply i will remove the task manager,
auto sync is turned off and i only use email by refreshing the inbox
Come here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884816
In short: Have you recently updated via Kies to JPY version? If so, stop using your wifi. There is a bug with wifi with this newest firmware.
hi,
i update to 2.2.1 through kies
Do you use wifi?
If yes, switch to data, battery life will be better. You should be able to get around 48h of light active usage (i mean browsing and calling and what not) with 3g data on.
i dont really use the wifi, signals really good around me, i only got the phone friday, brought it of a friend,
charged the phone fully before i went out last night about 7pm by 1.30am the phone had cut off, that was only using the facebook andriod app and sending text messages.
Than there is something terribly wrong. Do a wipe and factory reset, if you didnt after getting a device from your friend.. It seems that some application misbehaves and drains battery.
You can check it by typing *#*#info#*#* in dialer
Several options there, if there is something strange you will see it. (suggest looking into Battery history, usage statistics)
i dont know how to type in dialer sorry sounds very stupid all i have are digits

About my battery life:
Previously I was on Darky's v5, with that the phone lasted 2-3 days with normal usage.
After flashing to v7 (with 100% battery) I also got the fast drainage problem. Here is what I did:
1) Turn OFF phone
2) Charge till it says it is FULL
3) Start in RECOVERY
4) WIPE battery stats
5) RESTART android (yes, it might already be on 98% or so)
6) USE phone heavily. Don't worry if it drops too fast. Use it till the Android system turns OFF automatically (it happens when your battery is below 1% - for me the phone was on 1% for about 40 mins. This is where it heavily myscalculated
7) PLUG IN your charger, TURN ON android and wait till it is FULLY charged again. (It is better if you don't use the phone at this charging up)
Now, after you disconnect the charger, you should still have 100% for some time (I've been using the phone for 32 mins - writing this post - and it is still on a hundred percent) and with this, I got back the 2-3 days battery life with normal usage.
Also, you should set WiFi to: "Never when plugged in" and by default I disable Data Network. But my phone is using WiFi all the time so it doesn't really matter
So to summerize this method, the key is to show the phone the battery's minimal capacity too, by using it till it is on null. Because with charging to 100% than wiping or flashing only introduces the maximum capacity to the system and the minimum is only guessed. THIS gives the faulty reportes and makes us think the phone drains too fast.
Try this method, than feel free to share your results

3g was on
gmail on sync
skype on sync
5-10 min of skype calling
5 min of normal calling
5-10 min of facebook browsing through android app
30 min of chatting on skype
at 2PM the fone was at 20% battery. My wifi and gps were off all day.
is there anything i can do to get atleast 15 hours of battery with normal use
regards

If you are having issues with your battery, before you try killing tasks, changing setting and what not and especially if you are running custom ROMs, then you need to recondition your battery. The same goes for anyone who is having high drain issues.
If you follow the steps I posted from someone else's post and then find that your battery is not having issues, then start looking at your modem (if using a custom ROM or you've upgraded to new firmware).
ive done a factory restore, ive found what my usage says idle 4% the display 80%
contrast is switched right down
i know im not using any custom roms im using the firmware that you download through kies

I installed whatsapp, gtalk and one email account with 10 mins refresh.
I never use wifi.
Drain 7 - 8 % per hour when phone idle (Phone on with 3g data but without using it)
I really don't know how to "finger pointing" suspicion app via battery history.

It charges very slow.. I used to charge using my laptop USB.. I kept around 2 hours and charge increased only around 20%.. It was fast in Kitkat.
Oh. Im glad im not the only one facing this. Any solution or we may have to wait for a bugfix?

I tried with Both USA and TW Firmware.. Even tried after full reset.. Still same issue.. I think we have to wait for bug fix or any work around solution ..
I am using the US version, not rooted everything stock. When I installed I faced very heavy drain, even with a charger the battery was going down. After a few reboots everything is back to normal. Battery life is nearly identical to kitkat.
Attaching the screenshots, I am getting more than 4 hours SOT easily with wifi on all the time.

Hey guys,
I think I might have a problem here, I did OTA update over 10.5.1.A.0.283, got 10.6.A.0.454. Everything seems to be working fine, the system is quite smooth, yet battery life is worse than it was!
Cell standby and the OS seem to be consuming way to much battery, my reception isn't perfect, yet I checked in Cell standby and signal loss is at 0%.
I do have STAMINA on, yet according to CPU Spy the phone never goes into Deep Sleep. Isn't that suspicious?
You'll find a few screenshots attached to this post to give you an idea what I'm talking about. I'll try to flash the full rom today and see if it helps, while I'm typing this message FlashTool is creating an FTF file so that I can flash it later. I'll keep you posted.
Also, if anybody needs the FTF file, here's the torrent file link:

From my point of view, it totally depends whether you did an OTA update or flash the new ROM. In my case, I have the Deep Sleep state active for a lot of time, and here's the screenshot:
Did you make a factory reset before/after flashing? Most time this helps.
Think the scan location when wifi is off option (in wifi setting) has effect on the google play service.
Also I am testing what exactly that stamina clock option within stamnia setting does. It seems it affects the battery in a not necessarily good way.
This is annoying. Sony includes all these features that are basically rubbish...

Hi,
I installed lollipop onto my ZR via the PC Companion a week ago, and I used a clean install (repair). My battery life is very bad compared to kitkat. I don't use my phone often, mostly it is in standby mode with mobile data enabled and stamina mode enabled (I added a few applications to stamina mode white list: gmail, facebook messanger, etc.). With kit-kat I had to charge my phone every 3 day, but now I have to charge it every day!!! this is 3 times worse than kitkat. If I check under power management - battery usage, I see a few apps have several hours of 'mobile radio active' (mostly gmail, chrome).
I have searched for this on internet, it looks like it is an lollipop related issue and not a sony related issue. Lollipop has this issue since 6 months now , and they didn't do anything to fix this (there are tons of forums posts about this on reddit, and on other places). I have the feeling Android is getting worse in every new version, and Google hire the most ****tiest developers of all time. They don't even answer to the thousands of user complaints of this issue. I will never touch an android phone in the future.

Battery issue and restoring completely to stock

Hello everyone,
I have been using a Xperia Z1 for around last 6 months and updated to Lollipop 5.1.1 two months ago. Everything was fine until last week when my phone started to get affected by the battery bug.
The phone works fine and the battery gets discharged in leaps. For example, when I use the phone from 100%, it goes down in the usual way, let's say for 1 hour usage it drops up to 90% which is quite normal. But, when lock the screen and keep it idle for sometime and when I take it back, the battery has dropped a leap, usually by 10-15%.
Yesterday, I was using the phone normally and kept it idle for the entire night and battery has been dropped only from 85% to 79% without stamina mode. That's good. However, when I restarted the phone in the morning, the battery suddenly dropped to 18%. :crying:
I tried calibrating the battery, charging/discharging cycles and removing batterystats.bin. But, the issue is still here.
I think my phone has been affected by the famous Xperia battery bug in Lollipop which means that my battery is damaged. But, before replacing the battery is there anything else that I could do to overcome the issue. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
+ My phone is rooted on stock 5.1.1 (14.6.A.0.368) with XZDualRecovery and locked bootloader. If I repair the phone with PCC will it cause any harm or bricking since because of the customer recovery?
Claiming warranty is out of option since the phone has been rooted and flashed with custom recovery.
I don't know why people call it a lollipop bug. There will be a time a battery reaches its end of live. That's what has hit you right now. Your descripte symptoms are from a dying battery. I have seen some dying battery's from me or friends. The battery was holding the charge normally and suddenly no more.
Replace it and all should be fine again.

But, can this happen on a phone that is just 7 months old? Thats what makes me to think that this could be a bug.
I have the same issue, but mine drops to 0% and after waiting some time and booting it the percentage is back up. I have my phone for 2 years now, and the problem appeared in Lollipop also.

It's okay for a 2 year old phone as Lithium batteries wear out with time. In my case, it's kinda disappointing...
So, after searching the entire Internet, I can understand that this is a common issue with Xperia Z1 and Z1 compact and replacing the battery seems to be the only possible solution. I searched EBay for a battery but couldn't choose a good quality one. Can someone guide me on this please?

Your battery is definitely dying and it has nothing to do with roms. Get a battery that the seller claims to be OEM. That's your best bet...

Don't think that it will resolve your problem.
I changed my internal battery about one month ago and when two weeks passed I started to experiment the same bug ? again
It's not only hardware problem, it also software problem, I believe.

You are correct becouse I experience som drops in the range of 5-20% in less than a minute and once 30%. All the time while the phone was in standby mode except once where it did it right in my face (10%). My battery status is reported being fine. I also forced shutdown the phone as per the calibration method for non-rooted phones. Though I did notice dalvik cache wasn't rebuilt and so there is no way to have it refreshed manually except system updates which does this.
Anyway I did remove some apps and did some changes and after this I have not had any sudden drop for weeks. Two of the apps where Truecaller and Facebook official app. Will check though if it was a third one to. I believe one of these or both where playing havok. Especially the Facebook app as it takes liberties I find suspicious, is buggy, can crash the kernel (any app that can do that is doing shady work IMO) and had the addition of a "Video Player" service that was running permanently after you launch the FB app once. I instead use Metal for Facebook now. Pretty much same experience, only 10MB RAM used instead of 90MB and no batter y drain either or any other problem. So in short I believe one of these where the culprits and since many use the FB app that might be the one playing badly with Sony Z1 system.
And If you use Adguard also check if there are apps getting high ratio of ads blocked (or analytics data blocked). Might be some dont get proccessed right in the battery system due to it calculating it wrong. Google Frameworks, Google Contacts, Play Services, Mobilestorage Checker and a few more I disabled the ad filtering for. Though this did not change the battery drop problem previously. It only went away when I uninstalled named apps above.

Z3 refuses to sleep. Tried everything

Basically, for a couple days, my Z3C battery drain graph is a straight line going down at 40 degrees. I'd post a pic, but I can't yet (new member limits).
It used to be mostly flat when the phone wasn't used, but not anymore.
What changed? honestly, nothing! I just woke up and noticed that it went down from 100% to 70% during ~7 hours of my sleep. And it's like that ever since. I'm struggling to use the phone for a full day (used to be 2-3 days). The phone is 8 months old.
WHat I did already:
1. Turning off/uninstalling various apps based on their % impact on battery drain
2. Clearing cache
3. Turning down wifi and internet
4. Factory reset with data backup
5. FULL factory reset without touching anything after it
NOTHING worked
My only theory is that battery became bogus and I have to send it for repairs... which means at least 2-3 weeks without the phone and a questionable result (they may as well not consider it broken at all).
Anyone have any ideas on what to do at this point? I'm getting desperate
I wanted to sell the phone in a couple months to buy the Z6 compact, but I obviously can't sell a phone with a faulty battery... which means I won't have funds for the Z6. Sigh..

And what about changing NOTHING but just turning the airplane mode ON?
edit: I made a mistake, not OFF but ON!
I had the same problem with my Xperia T and the cause was that I cut the SIM card by myself (from mini sim to micro sim) and I accidentally internally damaged the SIM card. The battery drain was TREMENDOUS and the phone was INCREDIBLY hot that time. I didn't know what was the cause and tried literally everything! Only turning on the airplane mode was stopping the battery drain so I thought maybe the SIM card is damaged. And it was! After replacing one, everything went back to normal.
But what I want to say - your case might be different but... just give an airplane mode a try.
If you are from Poland - check your private messages!
Flight mode does nothing. 100% -> 75% overnight.

Yep, like I said in first post, I did factory reset. Twice, in fact.
The phone doesn't eat more battery - with Screen On, it works like it used to, but there is no "screen off" time for battery: the drain seems constant. The phone obviously doesn't go into sleep mode.
Then try Safe Mode in which all 'foreign' apps are not included in the startup procedure.
- push the power button
- long press the Power Off on the screen
- Then a option to restart in safe mode will appear on your screen
- Now you can chack whether your battery drain is a software or hardware problem

I had the same problem with my z3c when I went back home to Cyprus for the holidays. In Germany my battery drain during the night is 5-6% with Wifi on (no Stamina Mode), but when I was in Cyprus my battery drain went to like 40% over night. Bear in mind my phone is completely stock, with some disable apps here and there. I used GSam Battery Monitor to see what was going on and I saw that my Phone Radio was using almost the same % as the screen was. I'm thinking maybe this happened because of the firmware or something, I'm currently using .264 for Germany, but when I bought the phone it came with the Greek firmware, and I changed it to the German one during the Lollipop updates. Maybe if you tried flashing another firmware?

20% battery drain over night || FIXED || SEPTERMBER 13 2018

Somewhere earlier this year I started getting a 20% overnight battery drain. On a few nights it didn't drain, but its pretty consistent. I have tried everything listed on this forum..This drain is definitely not caused by any standard settings. I am really hoping somebody with insight into Oreo might have something new I could try. I know xda user Digisteve is going to showup and suggest more things, and that is also not going to work.
Things I've tried.
- using root to disable logd. (saw this as a process in BBS) Still drained.
- Disabling auto-sync of all accounts. Still drained.
- Turning on stamina mode at night. Still drained.
- Removed google play store, google play services framework, and all google aps - and replaced with alternative China app store. - Still drained. Not a play services problem.
- Turning off wifi, all wifi scanning, notifications of wifi networks etc. Still drained.
- Turning off mobile data and wifi - no connectivity at all. Still drained.
- Turned of location in all possible device settings,. Still drained.
- Rooted the device with Janjan method/kernal. Still drained.
- Flashed different regions. Including (Taiwan, my region, Malaysia, Germany, Swiss, HK). Still drained.
- Tried firmware verions , 179 , 205, 235, 270
- Deleting 3rd party apps. Still drained.
- Installing Gsam - checking for consuming apps. No apps listed as cause of the drain.
- Installed greenify. Tried as standard, non-rooted with adb permissions, and fully rooted. Still drained.
- Disabling various packages related to 'carrier services', qualcomm and rcs. Still drained.
- Debloated to the point that the phone had no google apps, no Xperia apps and removed tons of other apps, camera bloat, anon data, etc, all removed. Still drained.
- All built in apps replaced with a 3rd party app, including, sms, contacts, email, keyboard. Still drained.
- Installed Linage OS 15.1 Beta 5. Still drained.
- switched from 3G only to LTE only. both drained equally.. though I have worse single with LTE in my area.
I am hoping there is a better solution than throwing the phone away. Because I am pretty much at that point now. I have spent probably well over 120 hours trying to fix this, and I can't. Its at the point where I need to move on to a new device rather than waste more time.... but there are no small devices on the market now, and also no more classic xperia style devices on the market. Sony does not make the executive, classic 'Xperia' style I fell in love with anymore. I don't do round, heavy, huge phones. Very sad.
UPDATE - AUGUST 14
Now running the latest Customized German 270 firmware.
Still draining 20% per night. Check out the screen shots - clear to see I have almost no apps. No process can be seen as a battery hog in both Gsam and BBS. However Gsam screenshot shows evidence of CPU usage.
UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 13 - FOUND THE PROBLEM
Considering almost nobody had my issue, I assumed my phone must be a dud. Late August I bought a second XZ1 compact. The new phone worked for 1 day, and on the second day drained battery at 15% per night idle drain. Previously I had only tested the sim card by switching 3g,4g and disable mobile data, but never actually removing the sim from the phone. Last 2 nights I replaced my old sim with my gf sim of a different carrier. In the morning I had 99% battery remaining. No Drain!
I then downloaded an app these measures signal strength, and turns out where I sleep at night, there is is less reception. Its not noticeable just looking at the standard signal strength on your home screen, you need to check the more detailed strength in decibel millimps /dbm. I can still get good signal in most areas of my house, but the phone is having to use more power to keep the signal good. I can now reproduce the battery drain on demand. If I sleep with the phone near my bed, I get drain. But if I keep the phone in the living room, no drain. I found that connecting to wifi not a factor, since even if you use wifi for data, the phone was still holding open a connection the the cell tower.
This problem took me months, countless hours, and the expense of buying a completely new phone!!! Now I have 2 XZ1 compacts....arg.... but so happy its solved.
The important point is that if testing sim, good signal, or disabling mobile data, changing 3g 4g isn't enough. Your phone is using more power to maintain good signal.
Thank you to everyone who spend time trying to help me, digestive, proflyer, etc. Thank you guys.
At this point, I think it's highly likely you got yourself a lemon. Since you've already rooted the phone, warranty service is out of the question.
It boils down to two options:
1. Pay for a board replacement.
2. Try your luck with a brand new XZ1C. Buy it online so that you'll get the 7 days return perk (some online stores offer 10 days), keep it wrapped in its original packaging, handle with extreme care, and use it normally for a few days before your return window runs out. If you no longer get drains, congrats, and welcome to the club. If not, accept your fate, return it for a full refund, and give up on the XZ1C - understand that you weren't meant for each other and move on.
I had the same issue. Check this thread. Try that and report back.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...ormal-battery-consumption-wifi-t3740495/page3
I know what you feel. I had this too, but mine went away and I only very rarely have this drain. But mine was always on Wifi. With Wifi off = no drain reported... never.
I investigated it for weeks without coming to a conclusion.
If you can, replace the phone with warranty. Worth a try. Right now in my opinion you have a hardware faulty device.
But i would say to wait for android 9. In my opinion it wont take ages to come. It will much likely come this year.

He still has drain even with WIfi Off, so that not the problem.
The only other thing I could suggest is having the battery replaced at a local repair shop. If you got a lemon battery but an otherwise fine phone, that could help.
How about remove your SIM card with wifi on for over night? Do you still experience the drain?

UPDATE - AUGUST 11
ONE WORK AROUND. If I reboot the phone, then unlock it so "android is starting" screen is complete. Then lock the phone, without doing anything else - The battery does not drain overnight. In light of this, what could be the solution? I know an app sounds logical, but I arlready checking my 3rd party apps, and none of them were the probably, an no battery app has ever listed an app as a drain.
Any technical or Dev person go any idea what that symptom points towards?

This does indeed sound like an app or a service gets stuck in an awkward way. You indicated in your first post that you use better battery stats, do you mind posting screenshots of the top of the summary, kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks page (showing keeping awake services) as well as the bottom of the cpu states page (showing deep sleep time) "since unplugged" after a few hours of drain?
I have attached corresponding screenshots here for my xz1c (after more than 24 hours unplugged) as a reference (I have play services enabled and syncing both gmail and contacts and so on, no root though).

That doesnt make too much sense. Test it for at least one week before coming to conclusions.
Try this and let me know if it works
I had exactly the same issue
What i did (now magicaly works)
I did not have too many time so what I did was simple and I got a cheap replacement phone in the meantime
It seems to be beyond everything we tried
I conected the phone to the pc and did the fix with xperia companion, then I realized that everything was working as soon as I started to install the apps the problem came back, I installed a launcher (nova) and use it, drained the battery útil reach zero and fully charge it, then everything was working... Back to normal... I don't know how the issue was solved but hope it works for you
Sorry about my bad english xD

The screenshots from BBS look pretty normal, the GSMBattery shots show issues with Google Play Services, so I'm guessing they were taken at different times. But there's nothing jumps out of the stats that looks out of the ordinary. Have you run the phone in safe mode overnight to see if you get the same drain? I think you may just have a duff battery, no one else has reported this sort of power loss before.
$40 down the repair shop to get a new battery is going to be a whole lot cheaper than a new phone.

I have read somewhere else that Sony's Home is very thirsty with power, I will give your suggestion a go

Thanks didgetsteve. your probably right.... The GSAM and BBS stats were taken right after each other, maybe a gap of 2 mins. Play Services wasnt the issue though, as I tried my phone google free, and it still drained.

I agree with didgesteve, nothing jumps out by just looking at bbs (I am not familiar with gsam, so I cannot comment so much on that).
Before replacing the battery, I would probably make sure that it is not radio/network related. I have noticed that my phone draws significantly different amount of battery (in deep sleep mode) depending on the mobile network. This is mostly independent on whether mobile data is on or off.
Could you turn on airplane mode for an hour or two and verify that it is not the radio chip that is causing your drain? (If that is the cause, I am not sure if you can do anything about it apart from switching carriers or experimenting with 2g/3g/4g settings, but it might be worth knowing)

I also had the drain that Dean has. But mine wasnt so agressive, I mean, some days it was there draining 30% battery over my sleep time (8hrs) and sometime it just behaved normally draining max 3% over sleep time. But still from time to time the drain come back wich is annoying as I cant let my phone with 30% battery left when im going to sleep, afraid the battery will be dead and the alarm wont wacke me up lol.
On my extensive tests, the drain only happened with wifi, but even deactivating all wifi related process (backups, syncs etc) the drain was sometimes there. Wifi wasnt the culprit with Dean, but on my tests: Wifi On = Sometimes big drain , Wifi Off = never drain.
I never managed to find the culprit of this damn drain and Im a software tester. Gsam did not show anything unusual at all. It was like Deans screenshot.
We discussed about this issue a lot here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1-compact/help/battery-life-bit-odd-t3688342/page8) but till this day we dont know whats triggering it.
Im curious how the phone will behave on this issue with android P.
@ergoen @Didgesteve . Can you guys comment on my 4th screen shot, the one where you can see the CPU usage. Does anything strike you as odd in that pic? TThe CPU util looks high... it is normal?
i dont see nothing odd there

I'm sorry, but I don't think I have the knowledge to judge that. I would expect CPU usage to be low in deep sleep mode, but since the CPU is mostly sleeping, I guess any requested usage will queue up in a way that might look odd, so what you are seeing might be normal (but again, I don't actually know). I also believe that CPU power consumption is mostly related to the frequency state it is in, so deep sleep should mean low consumption (independent on cpu util %).
As I indicated in my previous post, I would sooner blame the radio chip or the battery than the CPU given your BBS screenshots.
mi drain came back today... some days its there and some days its not...
what a fvcking piece of sh1t is this phone... im done with the all tests. time to try samsung.

Bro, Samsung is even worse when it comes to battery drain. Check out linus tech tips vid from a few days ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n46s_iF_IV4&t=324s
My wifes side of the family all have Samsungs.... they are totally ****. The OS is bloated, ugly, laggy despite monster specs huge ram, snap 845, and battery nightmares on brand new phones exactly like in Linus's video. And there is a stupid "BIXBY BUTTON" on the phone which is a total nightmare. if your with Samsung, BIXBY will the with you, following you forever.
In other news, I replaced my Taiwan XZ1 compact with an Australian XZ1 Compact, and my drain is gone. I drained 2% last night.
There are so many build differences with the Taiwan and Australian build of the phone. Bigger microphone holes, slightly different proximity sensor design, and the plastic back is a rough matt black/gray in the AU versions, the TW version was a smoother shiny midnight black with a silver sparkle in the sun. The biggest difference was of course the battery drain.
