Is OggSync still under development ?

Hi all,
I've been syncing my Kaiser with Google Calendar using Oggsync during the last two years, without any problem. I noticed on their website (here) that the next stable version (Oggsync 4) will be able to synchronize contacts. Unfortunately, their is no activity on their website since last november. Even the RSS feed seems to be dead.
Do you know what's happening ?

I don't know if it's still in active development, but I call tell you I've been using Google Sync (from Google) recently and it works very well. It also syncs contacts.

This seems to do the same thing as OggSync, so maybe the OggSync developers have given up on it?

Well, the good point with OggSync is that it can handle several calendars. AFAIK, Google Sync cannot. But maybe I'm wrong ?

You're right. Google Sync, currently, does not support multiple calendars. I also use Oggsync and sync my contacts. You need the Pro version, though, which you have to pay for.

OK, I recieved a mail from [email protected]. It's still under development, see below.
We don't feel comfortable calling it stable until Google has firmed up their contact API a bit. It's still changing monthly. We are planning to roll in support for the just latest changes into the next major release (birthdays/etc.)

thanks for the info aurelieng. i just wish they could update their website a little bit. instead, it just looks abandoned.

I just noticed that OggSync 4.21 for windows mobile is available. The pro version now allows syncing contacts (not tried yet, but certainly useful).

[Q] Contacts removed automatically after sync with google

Hi guys
I have a big problem , some days ago i found when i save a new contact it removed automatically after synced with google account , i turned off the sync option & my problem solved but i want to sync my new contacts with google
how can i fix this problem ?
My Phone is HTC One , Android 4.4.3 & Sence 6.0 & its up to date

My dear friend, I have this issue too.
Unfortunately it seems that google services are blocked in our country (by our government or google, I don't know). Use proxy apps like "hotspot shield" so then you can save your contacts.

Are the contacts actually being saved to Google or to the carrier or sim card. I had disappearing contacts that I traced to being saved to the carrier but I did not have the carrier's contact list selected for viewing. Look in People the 3-dot menu "Contacts to display" to see what is selected.

Google Contact Sync

Hi all...
I can't sync Google contacts on my Huawei Mate S (it's chinese version CRR-UL00 from eBay).
Can't find any setting for Contacts in Settings=>Accounts=>Google
Any help would be highly appreciated.

You need to download Google Apps from Huawei App Store, as it is the china model that does not have Google Apps preinstalled.
1. Open App Center
2. Search for "Google"
3. Click the banner in the top
4. Install the apps from there, there is calendar and contact sync add-ins
To add your Google account open play store (it is not available to add from settings). If you have already logged in, go to settings -> Accounts -> Google -> Account (email) and tick of contact and calendar sync after installation.

did as described.... for some reason I only have calendar sync, but not contacts?? Can't find a contacts app in Play store.
What can I do?

You need to find the contact sync app in Huawei App Store ("HiApp"), not Play store.
1. Open Huawei App Center / HiApp
2. Search for "Google"
3. Click the banner in the top
4. Install the apps from there, there is calendar and contact sync add-ins

doesn't work for me - the "cannot start the application" message appears and some Chinese hieroglyphs, which I cannot read. Any help?

Hi, same issue for me. I installed all necessary Google APP but there is no Sync contact in the account management. I tried to install it manually, same result.

Dialer - name search stop working

Eva-L09, b394 Android 7.0.
In Dialer name search stop working. For example when I type "6262" this is "Mama".
To fix that go to Contacts app, select "more" - "Organize contact" - "Rebuild index data".
That works but on the next day I should run it again.
Is there permanent fix ?

Happened the same with me and many other mates I think. I m not an expert did not find solution but discovered that T9 search only in numbers if the contact is a DUO contact as well. If not it find by name as before. So the problem is somwhere in DUO I think. Updated DUO but issue remains.
Maybe this helps for some xperts to fix.. soo annoying..

No, it is not for DUO contacts. I try to delete one contact and create in the phone again.
I think it is working for now.

And how you are syncing your contact in google - manually every time ?
May be with some contact manager have to check what contacts
are stored on the phone and may be delete them and sync from google.

contacts synchronize automatically. I have not deleted contacts from my Google account. I copied them all into the phone's memory. I turned on visibility only for contacts from memory.

I try this method (to display only phone contacts) and it is working for now.
But some fix, could be welcomed

any luck with finding some permanent fix for this issue (aprat from factory reset and copying contacts to phone)? I have Honor 8 and last month or two having the same really annoying issue ...

Following up again... I have the Mate 8 & Mate 9, both phones exhibit this issue. Have to rebuild index data every day or two. Mate 9 has had a recent factory reset, and problem still presents.
Any permanent fix?

Just same need to rebuild contact index daily at least, will try using phone contacts copied from Google contacts.

I will leave Huawei because of this...

Well, on my Honor 8 (FRD-L09) the issue still exists and is bothering me every day ...

having trouble with this issue on P10 Lite WAS-LX1 , build C432B206 and EMUI 5.1.1 for several months.

Premature joy here. It's still broken after searching for some random contacts, B398 update for VNS-L21 did not fix it. Funny thing is my contract expires in 43 days and I was about to get a new one within days with Huawei P20... Well, not anymore so congrats Huawei, you made me dump you :victory:

Huawei Health sync account problem

Hello,
I bought a p30 pro, but huawei health didn't login and download previous data and profile, I come from a p10. I cannot find anyway to login into the health app with my huawei account, other huawei apps are correctly logged in to my account. My partner with exactly same upgrade didn't have the same issue.
