Hello,
I have been trying to flash CM12.1, and CM11, and RR ROMs onto my S3 Mini GT-I8190N. The ROMS themselves flash perfectly, but my SIM card is not recognised with any of the ROMS. The SIM card is recognised by the Stock ROM. Now I realise all of the ROMs can not have the same problem, and the problem must be something I am doing. My question is, what am I doing wrong.....
Phone is rooted with TWRP via Odin.
Super User is installed.
I have tried flashing the ROMs via Odin, and TWRP.
And I do a Factory Reset, wipe Dalvik, cache, system, and Data before each flash when using TWRP.
The only thing I can think of is my phone is possibly still SIM locked. Is there any way to check(apart from a foreign SIM)? And is SIM unlocked required for a custom ROM to detect the SIM card?
If SIM unlock is required, does anyone have recommendations on how to unlock my phone?
Thanks for your help.

try to remove your sd card to see if it stops hanging/rebooting. If it does, remove any app that you could have installed in the sd card. Then in your pc format the sd card.
CWM won´t dissapear until you flash the stock kernel since the kernel you flashed has it.
So try to flash the stock kernel for your rom with pc odin, or just reflash a stock rom.
Just flash a different kernel......and everything will be back to normal...frnks latest version is a bit buggy....try speedmod...and flash kernels only on custom roms...not stock roms...
Updated 4.25.13
the solution is very simple.just format the sd card and everything should be fine.thanks for everyone who helped me
Hi guys
this is my first post and I hope you guys can help me,I already searched the forum for similar problem but no luck
I installed Ultimate_N7000_LSZ_JB_4.1.2_v5.2 ROM and it was perfect for the 1st day then I realized that my phone keep restarting on its own when the screen is off, sometimes at 30 mins interval or even more.the phone don't show the boot screens.the screen will always be off when this happens.I also noticed that this doesn't happen when my phone is charging
another problem I'm facing is at times when i try to unlock my phone it stays black for a while until it can respond
a third problem is when I unlock my phone it will show in the status bar the message "sd card was removed unexpectedly" and then say "preparing sd card" .then it won't show the contents either in the gallery or the music player but I can still access them from file explorer
sometimes when it restarts i get a code on the status bar instead of the service provider (pic provided)
before I installed this Rom I was on official JB UAE version which I flashed using Odin and then I rooted my phone using PhilZ-cwm6-JPLSB-UAE-4.89.4
I wiped everything before installing it,Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik.Format /data /system and /preload
please help me urgently
test with the SD card removed.. also try another battery... the code could be the code of the provider and name not being displayed.. if all ok go back to stock rom after all wipes and formats and test again

before I installed this ROM I had no problem at all.the only problem I had was draining battery and wakelocks
I'll try using it without the sd card
but what about the restarts???????
not sure. i have used that rom for a while and didnot face that problem.. are yu sure you did not have that restart issue when on stock rom? try flashing another rom will check if the downloaded rom has issues or not..
I'm sorry but I'm new to all of this.this is my 1st ROM ever
so I can flash any official JB ROM through Odin on top of this custom ROM after wiping everything? and then install the custom ROM again?

I'm 100% sure i didn't have that problem before.
Yes. After flashing the stock rom, you will need to root it and get CWM. best will be to flash Philz kernel to root it.. then you can get back to custom rom again..
before you flash the stock rom boot into recovery (Philz recovery)
- Choose Wipe Data > Clean before install a new rom. (this will clean the rom. and phone will not boot after this step as there will be no rom)
- Advanced > reboot download > connect to pc and use odin to flash the rom

so if i flash an official Rom i'll lose the root?
does it matter what official JB ROM i use?
should I use the same Philz Kernel I used before to root the phone?or there is a better version?
Yes after flashing using odin you will loose root. Flash Philz kernel for JB close to the rom you installed like DDLSC or XXLSZ
The reason for your problems could be a defective sd card. Does the error persist without the card?

Seems like ur sd card is dead. You can also try a clean install of the new rom LT4 since it is a bit better than all the previous crappy jb release =)
thank you guys
I removed my sd card since yesterday, and since then everything is fine.no restarts or battery drainage.the ROM works like a charm
I'll try to format it and see what happens. unless it's corrupt for good
I really appreciate ur help.big thanks :good:
Thanks again for ur great help
the problem is completely solved,I formatted my sd card and everything is working fine.the ROM is awesome.better battery life and very smooth
THANKS
Hi,
I flashed liquidsmooth rom on my xperia z1 c6903. While it's smooth, customizable, and just amazing, I can't seem to get the phone to recognize the Sim card. IMEI number is marked 0, no baseband number, and no network. I took out the sim, put it on airplane mode, turned the phone off and reinserted and reboot, but no network. All AOSP roms did the same thing, except AOKP said there was an invalid sim (haven't tried cyanogenmod yet).
Here's what I did:
- Downgrade to .534 firmware
- Installed root (bin4ry) with dual recoveries (nut)
- fastboot unlock
- flashed boot.img
- rebooted to recovery (boot.img came with CWM and overwrote my recoveries)
- factory reset
- wipe cache
- insert sd card containing rom and gapps.
- flashed rom then gapps.
- wipe cache
- reboot
How can I solve this? I'm back at stock defaults so I can reflash liquidsmooth..maybe I didn't flash right? Is there a network driver that I have to install? Using Tmobile sim.
I believe those ROMs require you to be on a sony rooted 4.4 rom, then you can flash a aosp based rom

I did that and I got into a bootloop. See : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714333&page=30. Read the bottom posts.
Bump.
Sorry for this. I can't use any AOSP roms because of my networking issue.
Bump..
Last bump until I close this thread..please help
GT-I8910N
TWRP 2.8 installed as 2.6 failed to update binary.
That issue resolved, still I get no sim card detected on any custom rom installed.
Each time I restore to a stock Samsung rom, everything works perfectly again.
I've tried Slim, CM, Omni, different rom versions.
All give me no sim detected.
Any ideas please, TIA
Seems like a Baseband compatibility issue..
I tried an alternative baseband & it made the phone go super slow, any suggestions please, TIA.

Try another.
Then reflash the rom.
Doesn't the rom overwrite the baseband with the included version?
Depends on the rom.
Ok so I need to find a ROM that doesn't overwrite baseband, this should be fun
Thanks BTW.
Trying to to describe my problem: original ROM worked perfectly, CM11.0 for S3 Mini worked perfectly, CM12.1 for S3 Mini worked perfectly. Before the sale it, I would like put back original ROM and before flash over Odin I start made factory reset in phone menu and after what the phone does not recognize the SIM card. I tried falshing over TWRP recovery CM12.1 again, all working, but-no SIM card, I tried flashing older CM11.0- all working excluded SIM card. Then I tried flash over Odin original ROM back, but flashing failed-reason modem.bin fail. After the failure stock ROM flashing phone is not booted and the only option is flash CM11.0 or CM 12.1 again and and to start the phone setting again. I tried my SIM- card other phones- not working, no SIM card, and I tried over good working SIM cards in my phone-nor working, no SIM card. Is it possible to get broke at one time phone SIM card slot and Sim card itself. Some people say that these errors improve the original ROM, but I can not flash back stock ROM, because Odin failed some modem.bin reason. Can anybody help me resolve modem.bin error and flash back stock ROM?

The first thing is try to Clear Data, Dalvik, Cache etc. Also format your drive with TWRP and then Flash custom ROM. Also mention which Rom you are flashing.
If Still problem not solved Go back to stock Rom with ODIN.
