KitKat or Lollipop or Marshmallow to get the best battery backup and performance out of this device?
I am using stock Android 5.0.1 (Bootloader unlocked). I have deleted a lot of bloatware and have 3gb free internal memory. The battery life is about 1 -1.5 day of regular use. I have no lag at all. The best custom ROM I've tried is AOSP-5.1.1-20150531-titan-luk-OLD. I have tried MM and have found that it uses almost all the internal memory and the new SD card system is a disaster!

I think there are compatibility issues between Supercell games and my SD card. I'm getting SD card unexpectedly removed error when I tried to open Clash of clans. I faced the same problem before while I was playing Boom beach. I use a SanDisk Ultra MicroSDHC 16GB UHS-I Class 10 Memory Card.

i don't think so. i use the same SD card but a 32 GB variant and it works as flawlessly as it could. so honestly it doesn't seem like it's a compatibility issue.
Now i can advice you to troubleshoot it in this manner.
1. check when does it occur (the un-mounting message).
2. check whether it happens only on the current ROM or with the current kernels. (sometimes when your i/o options are not well tweaked as per your needs unexpected things can happen).
3. check for ROM bug fixes.
4. Try flashing another ROM like CM 12.1 latest nightly. it works flawlessly for me (as we have the same pair of hardware, might as well come handy).
5. Do a basic factory wipe i.e System, Data(Not Internal Storage), Cache, Dalvik Cache. This might aid you big time. so do not forget to wipe. but use it correctly otherwise can loose your storage in seconds.
you can try the above steps and see whether its a problem with your ROM or kernel.
if not come back for any other assistance with any unusual issue.

I'm on stock ROM. The message pops up exactly when I open Clash of Clans (Boom beach, few days back). I have a Moto G 2nd Gen. My device is not rooted. Is factory wipe same as Factory resetting the device? Moto G 2nd Gen is receiving Marshmallow now. I'll try again after upgrading to MM.

did you try resetting your device? if not do it for once. it may trigger some possible issue fix. but tbh if its not into the rom it might be an issue with the hardware. so to be on a save side i recommend checking for the ROM issues manually by rooting and then installing a stable and working rom. like cm12.1 which may help you big time.

Sandisk accepted my replacement request. They have asked me to send my SD card and they'll provide a new one it seems.

Very Well. Do let the community know whatever solves your issue. ciao.
Since i cant root am i better off with 5.0 or 5.1. Not to familiar with this device is the 5.1 update reliable decent bat life in such or did it just bring even more probs lime it did on the g4
5.1 is more stable than 5.0. it also fixes the memory leak bug too so you'll get better multitasking
If you can not root, then 5.1.1
On 5.1.1 latest update PA3 I definitely noticed an improvement in battery life and also reduced memory usage. in addition I've always wiped my cache partition after every update.
Hello forum,
I just got a Moto G (2nd Gen dual sim - XT1068) from a second hand vendor.
As it has Marshmallow I am quite happy with the features of the OS.
But for privacy reasons, I would like to run my device without unneeded (google/motorola) apps and services. So I use f-droid instead of google play store and my own server for calendar, contacts, email,...
Usually, I flash Cyanogenmod (without GApps), but this time I am not so convinced about this:
I did some research and got the impression, that dual sim features are not so well supported in CM 13. As I need good sim management features, I would have to flash CM 12.1. So I had to downgrade if I change over to CM
As another option I found some hints to "debloat" the OS, to get rid of unwanted aps.
(hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/script-nomoto-stock-rom-debloat-script-t2994307)
My question:
Can debloating enhance my privacy in a comparable way as Cyanogenmod?
As this surely is a major impact on my phone, I better fully backup the stock rom, just in case something goes wrong. Can this be done before flashing a custom recovery? If yes, how?
Thanks for your support and kind regards
Ralaxy
So I was working on an LG L90 (D415) which is now off to repair because it looks like the SIM card reader is non-functional. I have a LG L70 (LGMS323) which hasn't been touched in couple of years, and I was curious, can this device have custom ROMs installed on it too? For instance, I'd like to install CM13 (in this case, Lineage OS 13) but would it even be possible? I am a bit confused as well as it looks like the LG L70 is basically the Metro PCS version of the LG L90, correct? So would essentially the same ROMs that worked on the LG L90 work on the LG L70?

Woah, that's crazy, so there is no official variant of lineage OS for the L90, but there is one for this L70, lol that's kind of crazy because I thought the L70 was superior (at least in total amount of people using the device).

So I was able to root the device, and install Lineage OS 14.1! Though, I am running into an issue: I thought with Android 7.1.1 we were now able to use MicroSD cards as internal storage, where all apps can be installed to the SD card, correct? I for some reason can only move very few apps to the MicroSD card, and the rest are in internal storage, and as you can imagine, my internal storage is now absolutely full. Any idea if there is anyway to fix this? Or would using an alternative option like Linked2SD be my best option?

Is your x1 ii rooted? Can you roll back to Android 10?

Not rooted, was thinking of flashing bk the official Sony Xperia 1 II Android 10 ROM, but think this shouldn't be normal as Android 11 shouldn't be that laggy?
Because I read so many shortcomings after updated to andoird 11, I rather stay at andoird 10 rooted for the time being. And I have doubts flashing rooted 10 to 11 without losing data and apps.

That's my other concern, I want to roll bk to Android 10 without wiping
Anybody got any ideas?
If you can't rollback due to rollback protection you could try my new script to make your Android 10+ system read-write-able and then carefully remove all the unnecessary bloatware to make your device run smoother.
I'm curious if the script also works on next generation Sony devices. Does your new Sony device have a super partition? Does it have fastboot? Then you're in luck.
With my new script you get full read write access to all partitions on your device. Then you can easily delete these annoying bloatware apps from your internal hard drive. Problem solved.
Always make a backup before you permanently delete a system app! You never know which one is going to cause a bootloop!
I have similar experience. But funny stuff is that it happens every 2nd restart. 1restart - phone is laggy, another restart - phone is ok, and its happening almost always.
