Hello, ladies, gentlemen, and aliens.
I made this thread with wallpapers that i create and i will update it from time to time.
I do some graphic design, but not at a big level, however i also like photography and "game photography" (I spent hours and hours trying to mod games to be able to take great pictures in them).
Pack 1 - These wallpapers are all screenshots i've taken in the game, and i hope you give them a try as they are not even related to the games, but to their artistic side.
I worked quite some time on them, and to make them as screenshots took a while aswell, as i had to edit them manually and make them fit a 9:16 aspect ratio.
They are also resized from crazy crazy resolutions like 11520x6480, so, expect them to be of high quality.
Genres: Surreal, Abstract, Nature, and basically everything. This first pack, i wanted to make for everyone to be able to enjoy.
91 wallpapers - Resolutions: qHD (1440x2560), FullHD (1080x1920), HD (720x1080)
Thumbnail view of all of them - Few Proper Previews

Read this please:
I make these wallpapers because i like helping people (Literally, my top priority in life ) and making content for everything, i made them so people can enjoy them, please, don't re-upload them elsewhere, and don't claim them as you're own.
If i find any of them re-posted on Zedge on other websites/apps, i will report them, Sorry.
As a side note, please, forgive my way of talking, i don't really know how to explain things properly, and i don't know how to talk to people.

basically i would like to use the panaramic mode but with the 5 megapixel quality, i dont know whether this can be enabled with a hack/patch, but i think it would be a good addition to the phones abilitys - i know it would take longer to finish the stitching but a worthy wait! anyone interested?
Me too
me too..
for long times..since the i900 omnia ;-)
on sgs using panoplanet lw it would be great!
This sounds reasonable! Samsung totally missed the spot with these ridiculously lo-res panoramas Love this feature, but low res output makes me do panoramas on my pc...
Why don't you take regular pictures and use windows software like Microsoft ICE (free) or AutoPano (not free) to stitch them together?
(I know, not a solution to your problem, but definitely better results)
A solution but kinda take the spontaneity and fun out it. Its nice to have the results in hand.
panoramas are usually lower res because they are, in fact, they are several photos stitched together. this holds true even in some newer point and shoot digital cameras.
the galaxy s is not alone in this. previous samsung phones such as the i900 omnia , s8000 jet, and i8910 omnia hd support the sweep panorama, but only at a lower resolution. just be thankful that the galaxy actually HAS sweep panorama - my friends with their iphones drool over this feature. otherwise, do what frauhottelmann says.
if a dev IS able to make this happen, then WOHOO!
Holy moly it would be awesome if this could happen. Doesn't need to be huge but anything better than the tiny res setting its using now.
Of course that will put a much bigger demand on the memory and processing since it takes all the photos and then does the math. I can see issues popping up...

even if it just took the pictures automatically leaving the stitching to do manually later it would be very handy. id actually prefer that.
i dont mind waiting while it processes the images, and if i was going to go thru the process of stitching in windows id probably take the pics with a real camera, it was just a suggestion and i, as a non techy thought it might be just a few mod's to the camera scripts - surely it would be a few lines which forces this mode into low res.
Heya guys,
Just wondering if there's an easy way to make a live wallpaper from a video (this video, for example).
I think it'll be pretty amazing, and i'd make it myself, but if someone could do it much quicker than me, it'd be appreciated. It should be pretty popular, too.
PS: I've taken a look at the Custom Live Wallpapers (v2.4) and apparently it has a limit of 300 images. The video is considerably longer than that... Is it feasible to make a live wallpaper of the entire video?
Okay here we go : I have 15000+ wallpapers for any smartphone (cropped by ME !!!!) to fit your screens (480x854), (720x1280) etc.....
don't worry if you have a different resoultion phone co'z this app will solve everything :
Image2wallpaper
Warning : Do not download these if you like scrolling (homescreens) wallpapers !
Use apex / nova launcher or whatever launcher you like and use the app above to set these wallpapers to fit your screen....
I promise high quality / low filesize for all these wallpapers but stay tuned as I'm just starting to update this website day by day.... If I get more requests / replies I will mix things up more....
so finally here's the WEBSITE

Cheers.....
1 Thanks ? no reply, no polls ?? so no one interested ? I'm just wasting my time
I've actually used this ,but doesn't the phone gallery already crop photos?
I've downloaded a couple photos off of the website ,maybe add something else besides chicks.
Edit: Take that back this is very useful because some of my photos never cropped to display all the photo completely

damn nice!
OK, Just went to Best Buy to demo the gear VR. First - the demo time is limited to 3 minutes which made it a little difficult to get a good idea.
My major problem with the demo was the image quality. Now I was not expecting miracles. I have read the forums and expected sd effect but this was major sd. Large pixels were unfocused where one could see the red/green/blue. It was almost like an old crt that had been badly focused. I almost wondered if they had a bum unit.
I was watching the trailers in the movie theaters btw.
So Im wondering - is this basically the quality one should expect from the VR currently? Has anyone had experience loading their own films on the unit and is the quality better than the trailers loaded on the unit?
Any opinions would be appreciated (Again - Im wondering if the unit they had was just a bad one)
Thanks

Did you try adjusting the focus wheel?
Yes - the focus wheel had little to no effect. Almost as if it was there for show.
Possibly broken but remember it's only a QHD screen so there will be pixels visable. We need to wait for 8k screens... I love me gearvr and amazed our phones offer this ability
-= Note 4 & Gear VR =-
Sounds like a defective unit to me. Yes the picture isn't perfect but "unfocused and can see the red/green/blue "definitely not. I've watched gravity, avatar ,xmen and godzilla all in 3d on the vr and obviously it's not like watching in on a hd TV but you are watching it on a 100ft large screen in a virtual cinema which you can't do at home
Wondering - Has anyone loaded on hd rips of movies and watched them vs the trailers that they have pre-loaded?
Is the quality improved? Maybe their trailers are low bit rate. Thanks

Doesn't sound broke. I can always see the red/green/blue in pixels when focused. It always reminded me of CRT TVs.
I don't see the red/green/blue at all. Sounds like defected units. Also my pixals are extremely small. Maybe because I have 15/20 vision with my contacts in? I don't know.

I see them pretty clearly
They are visible if you focus your attention on them. Once you focus your mind on video or game they disappear.

I believe focus issues have a lot to do with the alignment of your eyes and the 3D effect. If you eyes are not aligned properly then the 3D effect may create a double image
Also I've noticed the eyepad with the nose bridge included positions the device on your face for better focus.
Another issue is just getting used to a slightly screen door image. Also remenber these movies et al are largely in FHD not QHD and that is also hurting the experience.
If your phone is rooted you can also increase the DPI which may help with pixel size.
Part of enjoying this is your brain just getting used to it. I find that focusing tightly on what I'm looking at as opposed to generally staring in a direction helps focus. Its not that focus with the unit is poor so much as the 3D tech is imperfectly tuned for each person. Also I think we've come to expect 3D things to jump out at us; however thus is not the effect 3D has in real life. In real life 3D merely adds depth and that is what this does more than in your face hollywood 3D.

Try setting your DPI to 400.
so, when i got the galaxy camera 2 part of my reason, a big part, was to take better pics than my old point and shoot. while pics are a bit better its pretty clear i am no wiz at taking good looking photos. in fact i would say im pretty useless. i pretty much have the thing set to "macro" and thats it. anytime i have tried to make use of the manual controls i end up producing utter crap.
so has anyone found a guide or soemthing that would help me to better make use of the camera and teach me how to make it take the photos i want to.
To make use of manual mode you need to understand how the camera handles light. A good basic guide is the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. Whenever someone is interested in going beyond the cameras automatic setting, this is the book I suggest.
...hmmm, judging by the plea for help this seems more of a request towards artistic, rather than technical, guidance.
See, personally I bought a refurbed SGC2 to avoid all the manual settings and have the luxury of having a glorified Android tablet with a 16+MP point-n'-shooter. If I wanted to be more technically proficient a photobug, I would've shelled out more for an SLR, lenses, bags, stands, lighting gear, a high-end PC / Mac workstation, Photoshop, etc., Ugh!
I think you should Google, Youtube, or Khan Academy something on good shot composition and techniques, rather than tinkering with settings.
"Rule of thirds" is a great start and was a creative credo in my cinematography class in video production. I still suck at lighting, but I've taken that rule of thumb almost to an unconscious level.
Now I'm hoping your SGC2 is the one with Android on it because I bought it specifically for use with the Vignette photo app. (There's a free demo in Google Play.)
Run what you consider "crap" through this, mess with some presets and tinker around with some tweaks, add frames, and you'll look like an absolute genius.
I swear by this app and have yet to use the built in camera.
(I'm sure I'm limiting myself with the camera's capabilities, but I'm stubborn that way.)
The beauty of digital (as opposed to film) photography is that you can practically shoot forever within storage and power consumption limits.
Go nuts and experiment! Find your artistic niche!
Who knows, you just might actually step up to that SLR and go pro!
Happy shooting!
(I adore this camera, BTW and I'm still wondering if there's any reason for me to root it.
I honestly haven't found one, yet. I use it more as a camera, rather than a tablet.
We'll see.)
P.S., ...by the way, my avatar was shot on Vignette on my old-ass, rooted & ROM-ed, T-Mobile LG G2X with the Vignette app. I took the photo in it, square framed (with rounded corners) it, used the Ilford (B&W) preset, clicked the 'underexposed' customize, and voila! Otherwise, it would've been an average, run-of-the-mill photo of my GF and the cat.
