If you you unlock your Z2 pro you get a special bootloader. Afterwards you are not able to do any OTA updates. The update program downloads the corresponding update but it is impossible to install it.
TWRP gives an error and if you flash the original recovery it also gives an error. Does anyone have an idea how to update the device if it is unlocked?
As you have to flash the patch bootloader for TWRP it is not possible to have the original bootloader back.
So how can you Update and how can you recover the original state of the device?
The SDFUSE method doesn't work either. Flashes without errors but after reboot everything is untouched.

You have to flash oldest QPST firmware through QFIL
For our Zuk Z2 Plus (Non Pro Version), We have to flash ZUI 1.9.044_ST QPST and bootloader status changes to locked (not relocked). After that, we can flash any latest stock ZUI firmware and the bootloader stays locked and OTA works perfectly fine.
So try to search for oldest Zuk Z2 Pro firmware
Try to use this apk instead of the original one. I've found it on Chinese forum and seems that it works! I've just uploaded it on Mega https://mega.nz/#!d9A1wLrL!hCir3IJ1rf9RaJXjAdR-XHK59bBrqp2CNOltjCeCIjQ

Here's the story so far. I'm trying to get root access on a Z3 compact. I was at the latest Ota firmware as of January 2016. I just unlocked my bootloader (in Linux) and now I guess I'm at the stock ROM that ships with the phone? Android 5.1.1, build 23.4.A.1.200
I have downloaded CM12 nightly, but I'm afraid to flash it. I also have been reading several guides for rooting. Namely, this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
Now I have the 23.0.A version downloaded. If I flash that, what next? Run giefroot? But wwherw do I go from there. If I upgrade through Ota updates do I keep root?
Are there any Ota ROMS that are already rooted that I can flash via fastboot? I'm not able to flash things in Windows since win10 won't recognize the fastboot drivers, so I'm using Linux, which I'm more comfortable with anyway

I got a notification that my phone was able to update to Marshmallow today so downloaded the update and set the installation on its way. The problems start here, when rebooting after starting the installation it boots into TWRP, I'd previously rooted my phone but unrooted it after a while, though all I did was select the unroot option on SuperSU and didnt relock the bootloader or anything like that.
The TWRP is v2.8.7.0, and my Moto G is a XT1072 version and currently running 5.0.2.
Im tempted to factory reset but worried that might brick my phone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

You can´t update via OTA with a custom recovery like twrp installed. You have to be on stock recovery and the latest full unrooted non-modified stock firmware. Unlocked BL is no problem and doesn´t matter.
In most cases just unrooting and flashing back stock recovery is not enough because there still could be small changes which will make the OTA installation fail.
Nevertheless you can try that or you flash the latest 5.0.2 stock firmware.

Anex to words of Wolfcity, if you want to update via OTA you will need to install stock recovery and stock rom of LP, there is a procedure with a toolkit that you can easily find in general forum. The tool kit will help you to back again at the beginning. Nevertheless, why use stock firmware with a lot of cool roms to flash? [emoji4] [emoji106]

Flashtool needs to be updated for nougat.
Is there an alternative way to flash? How have others achieved it?
Any news when flash tool will be updated,?
Is there an option to flash the ftf file by decompressing and flash this with fastboot?

You need to flash the mm ftf of the region which has the Nougat update then wait for the ota/xperia companion to arrive. Flashtool needs updating to work with Nougat.
Sent from my Xperia XA using XDA Labs
Or you could wait for the official release as it is probably only a few days away
Sent from my F8131 using XDA-Developers mobile app
U should flash a russian mm 297 ftf, when it boots up the nuogat firmware OTA will be available
Official released OTA today for the F8132.
If you have rooted and or unlocked your bootloader... You wont be installing the Nougat FTF through flashtool. And you wont be downloading it OTA.... You will / We will have to wait till somebody fixes the Flashtool so it will install Nougat onto our devices.... Simple as that....
USA got the OTA nougat today. To be honest there is not any real noticeable difference except for a few menus that are a bit out of order from MM6 I really dont care about Nougat. It aint a priority...
Hi All!
First of all I just want to get before any haters and say yes I'm an ass who should have read more about rooting and flashing but here I am..
I wanted to update my custom rom and to start fresh I decided to try to flash Format Data And wipe all on my phone.
Now the trouble i'm having is: no matter which version of twrp I use or how many times I flash my device with fastboot the error always comes when trying to flash a Rom onto the phone with twrp.
I can flash with flashtool so my phone is working for now but I've tried several times to go back to twrp but with no luck.
In twrp I've tried changing file systems wiping everything again factory reset. But no matter what I do the error still comes back with unable to mount system.
Any suggestions?
I do not have experience with custom Roms, but I know that these only work on unlocked bootloaders (exept this was overcome in the meantime) Have you unlocked it? Note: if you do you loose DRM keys. So backup before.

I've unlocked my bootloader via sonys website so I guess my DRM keys is long gone,
I have been flashing roms on it before so shouldnt be a problem really.
I guess I'm stuck with installing ftf files for now, got to have it for work tomorrow.

i got this problem too, when i flash another stock 6.0.1 rom (for SO-02G) on a Z3C (SO-02G) had installed 6.0.1 stock rom (D5833) using TWRP 3.0.2-0.
Then i need to flash back to stock 4.4.4 rom, and install new rom using TWRP 2.x.x, all work well.
So i guess u should flash back KK version before flash your custom rom. Goodluck
