We already have an XDA chat. The major one and the most knows is #xda_ot on the freenode.net IRC network. There are a bunch of others for given topics here on XDA, but they are just imitators of the great #xda_ot.

On IRC, which is the only real way for internet chat.

[GROUP CHAT] XDA Developers Hangouts Group Chat, post your gmails here!

Since the BBM group chat sucked, and deleted itself, the admin and I decided it was time to create a hangouts chat.
100 members is the limit, so post your gmails here, and i'll add you to the group.
Why not kik? cuz kik is worse
Why not BBM? member limit too low, bugs
Why not Whatsapp? i don't wanna give you my phone number
NOTICE: after i say i added you, but the group doesn't show up, check your hangouts invites
NOTICE: Since the group is full, anyone idle/not interested is welcome to leave since there are users that want to join the group but it's full. Thank You

yea.. I would not give my number out to people I dont know personally.. just my though...

why don't you guys just open a Facebook group?

What is xda for, post the problem you have and people will answer you, whatsapp is a personal chatting service, not many would want a person from xda constantly bugging them asking for solution of a certain problem.
Or just go for a Facebook group.

I'm doing this new note 4 Group for more people can join and help each user and try to solve there problems.
This is new whatsapp group
Don't worry I won't steal your number, because I don't want to get involved into trouble.
Rules for this group:
Discussion about note 4
1. Rooting
2. Custom ROM
3.News about note 4 and newer device.
4. Other Android device talks allowed
What is not allowed:
1. Not allowed to Insult other people
2. No political or religion talks
Off topic is allowed but for limited time/short time.
So if you are interested PM me.
Ban rules: doesn't not include insulting people or editing people picture
First warning before ban
Second warning 2 - 5 days ban depends on the situation
Third warning 15 days
Fourth warning permanent ban will not change my mind.

Good news i managed to get cm12 working with @simokb1996, @spezi77 and @Trafalgar Square' s help. Now it works but i'm really busy with building another roms so i will upload it 2days later. But really it work now.

What about Telegram?
Doesn't require mobile numbers and you could simply create a public group and post the username here.
