Hi guys!
I just recently rooted and flashed my P970 to CM7 Nightly v20 and Nova Kernel v11. Stock ROM was Froyo 2.2.2 v10d. Everything works great except for the following. I'm hoping to get assistance in helping me solve these problems... I have tested them thru WiFi and 3G...
1. I cant play Youtube videos thru the browser or thru the Youtube app. I installed Flash 11 but its still not playing. Alternate browsers like Opera Mini cant play them as well. Error: "Sorry, this video cannot be played."
2. I cant login to downloaded apps that require username & password. (using .apk's, not downloaded from marketplace) like Facebook, Yahoo Messenger, Go! Chat etc... Error: "Sorry, login failed to reach servers. Please check your network connection or try again later. Connection Timeout Exception."
3. Front camera in Skype is disabled. No options to do video calls on the menu. Ticking advanced options to force use of front camera only shows black screen during video calls.
3. Signal strenght for 3G seemed to have weakened compared to that of the stock ROM. Anyway to strenghten it?
4. Is there a way to restore the Android Marketplace app and the features that go along with it?
5. Picture quality of the back camera seemed to have lessened. More shade of grey and black even when taking photos in well lighted rooms. Anyway to fix this?
Unfortunately I was unable to backup the stock ROM, anyway on restoring the unit back to stock?

First u have to install the google apps! CM7 doesn´t have them included!!
Ifthe other problems are still there try to install the Nova v11c Kernel aswell!!

1.) Google Accounts can't sync contacts. i have tried formatting the phone a few times
2.) mobile signal on slot1 will drop every once in awhile
3.) GPS signal will drop every few km travelled
4.) installed nova launcher cos the stock is real slow! my 2yrs old note2 doesnt have non of those issues at all. haiz.
Don't have the issue with sync, but I have the P7_L10 though.
Reception of signal is little more worse when I compare it with my prev phone: Sony Xperia S
Speed is good in my opinion.
haiz, now in thailand, using a local sim on slot1, occasionally it will show i am roaming, and no data is available, turning on data roaming doesnt get internet back on also.

I am experiencing similar problems with:
1) same problems for the google account. other people found solutions, but i just use outlook account instead for the time being. as remember the P7-L00 is a China unicom phone. so i try to workout how to report these to Huawei. buy i think you can send email to their USA or Europe support center: [email protected]
i will try to write a summary and send to this address. i think you need to do the same. otherwise no one knows what is going on?
2) 4G lte ( i am using Telstra's 1800mhz 4G), some times the signal drops, and the phone is trying to scan for wifi even i had wifi turned off. looks like there are some bugs there. it is very annoying when i am using skype to chat with someone, the in every few minutes i need to turn on the data again. somehow it switches off by itself, then start to scan for wifi ( even with the wifi disabled)? i did not see this problem until i start to use skype.....
4) the phone is very fast after i had removed/ disabled most of the Chinese apps. it is faster than my note 7105 lte.
hope anyone else can share some of the experience about these.

For 1.) install gapps trough TRWP recovery (you have to remove set_immutable.list file first!!) works on my P7-L00 have contact sync now.

I do not update anymore, because in my eyes the Chinese ROM updates only prevent customisation on the phone.

i have just updated this new 124 version. it seams a bit smoother. but i will test the 4G LTE signal drop issues to see if the new version fix the problem. the new rom has new baseband. i think it may help the signal in 4G/3G, etc.

My P7-L00 is very slow... i have also mediapad X1 its much faster than my P7..i rooted... i put google acounts... i removed the chinese... put Go launcher Ex... but i dont see any performance at all... im very disappointed with the phone....

i would try to unroot it first. and doing a factory reset, then install the new factory 124ps01 firmware. I have two sim cards, the OTA is not ready yet, so i installed the upgrade via usb drive. just connect to a usb drive to your phone, and select update from usb.
most chinese apps can be removed, then only few huawei's apps which can be disabled. the new firmware experience is good, especially the network signal, and battery performance. i left the phone with airplane mode at 11:00 pm, and this morning at 9:00, it did not even drop 1% at all. tried few skype and other voip calls, and found that the 4G signal is more stable than before. the phone is also very fast. i was trying to root the phone before, but giving up due the new firmware does not allow root at this moment. but i think the factory firmware is optimized and it is very fast - much faster than my note 2 that i can compare with. so i am happy. i will give it a few more days test to see how it is going.

How to install Gapps to P7-L00
Everyone having problems with Google service on his/her P7-L00 (or other Chinese market variant) should be aware of the bad news: the phone simply lacks the good-old Google apps. But the good news is that you can install all required apps without rooting and/or flashing the phone. You can install them as any other Play app. It is so because the firmware has built-in two core apps: the GoogleServicesFramework.apk and GooglePlayServices.apk. These apps enable to install further Google apps.
The simplest way is to search the web for 'Google Installer' app (I think here, in XDA it's also present), download it and install to phone, and then the app itself provides a list from which you can choose the apps you need (Play Store, Gmail, Search, Hangouts, Translate -- whatever!).
Take note that both GoogleCalendarSync and GoogleContactSync app are very important to install otherwise you would not be able to use you Contact and Calendar apps with your Google account.

thanks for the info, could you please provide a link where to download google apk installer? there are lots of them, but most of them only for google play store apps. but things like google contact and google calendar is not found?

I have the CM11 Rom installed on my Galaxy Exhibit and installed Google+ Hangouts 2.1 a while ago. I tried to update to 2.3 (new google voice integration!) but the Google Play store says Hangouts in incompatible with the "T-Mobile - US Samsung SGH-T679" Is this something with this ROM, or it is a real hardware issue? Have other people gotten Hangouts 2.3 working on the T679? Could I side-load Hangouts?

I am on cars' latest CM11 ROM with the Christopher K^Kernel and had no problems updating to the latest Hangouts 2.3.75067996. Got it straight from Google Play automatically. Also installed the latest Hangouts Dialer from Google Play, plus Google Voice. Not sure why it wouldn't work for you. Are you sure you're on CM11?
Interesting. Glad to know it can work on my hardware. I'm running CyanogenMod 11 20140714-UNOFFICIAL from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542793 -- which ROM are you using? The latest CM 11 doesn't mention using Christopher's Kernel, although the 7/10 version does. If it were a kernel thing, I'd be surprised that when I go to the google play website (on my desktop) it says that Hangouts isn't compatible with SGH-T679 -- although maybe it is really saying it isn't compatible with my phone in its current form and it happens to be a SGH-T679.
Are you running a different DPI? I've occasionally had this issue on some apps when I switched to 182 DPI, but since gmail, etc works I didn't think that was the issue.
Cars' ROM is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600757. Standard DPI. Using the final Banks Minimal Gapps. I haven't changed my install much beyond that.
Guessing it's the difference in ROMs. Also, do you have Google Voice installed? If not, I'd try getting that first.

Previously I successfully installed and ran Hangouts on the ROM you linked: CM11 by @jfbs.
The GApps I used was also the one that @ulibube mentioned: BaNkS 7-29_GApps_Minimal_4.4.4 (no longer available).
My theory is you're running into some GApps issues.
For example, the last couple of days I've been playing around with different ROM, kernel, and runtime setups.
One time I flashed a GApps version dated 6/6/14; this one had an older Play Store version, so when I installed Hangouts, I received a message from Hangouts that said I have to update Play Store and Google Framework Services. I thought this was weird so I started from scratch again as not to encounter any errors.
This is my current setup as of this morning and I haven't encountered any errors:
ROM: CM11 by @cars1189 Build 9-9-14. Can be found here (scroll down to ROM 9-9-14).
Kernel: ADC/Linaro (note: this kernel may not support OC/UV, if you need that, use Christopher K^Kernel). Can be found on same link as above (use the build corresponding to ROM build date).
GApps: PA GApps - Nano Modular. Can be found here.
Runtime: Dalvik
Note: I am not running a custom DPI and a search reveals that may also be a issue.

It's pretty good.
I'm using AT&T with this phone and in my area signal quality is very poor; for some reason the other night I could not make a regular phone call (received some error about Mobile Network not being available) but the phone showed I had 3G, so I made a Hangouts call and it was just like listening to a regular call.
So, I sideloaded Hangouts 2.3 on my phone and it worked fine. Google Play still said the app was incompatible, but whatever. Then this morning I see that there is a Google Play update to Hangouts. Seems like whatever issue I was having got fixed with the latest Hangouts update and it now says my phone is compatible. Weird as I didn't change anything on my phone, but whatever.
I'd say VOIP quality isn't great, but is useable. My VOIP phone over the same internet connection is significantly better. Haven't tried over 3G, only WiFi.
I'm running cars' 9-9-14 cm11 build with k^kernel 3.4.102 and have Hangouts 2.3 running ok, and I can make and receive Google Voice calls, but the phone will vibrate only when there is an incoming call. I checked all the volume levels and the ringer volume is turned up. It rings normally if I do a hangouts video call. Anybody else having this issue?

I just called my Google Voice number and I'm having the same issue described as you; only vibration on incoming call.
I wonder if this is an app issue or ROM issue. I just got a Moto G tonight, will test and report back.
Just wanted to report that when calling my Google Voice number and Hangouts v2.3.75731955 setting Incoming phone calls is checked and Phone ringtone is set to ring, the Hangouts app indeed rings.
As for the Exhibit and Hangouts, maybe have to Clear app data and try again.

sometimes my moto voice starts up without/with any command even in pocket.
moto voice's resposiveness is less than KK one. ----> this happens because of custom launch phrase.
and my phone does not go into sleep mode even after passing of time set in settings .
does anyone have this problems ??

Not sure what you mean about the launcher. The Moto X has always has a slightly modified launcher. You can download the Google Launcher from the store.
I did have the same issue with the phone not going to sleep. I rebooted and have not had the problem since, though I can't say for sure yet that it won't happen again.
I'll tell you what problems I faced.
- 1st fresh install, complete sbf: after 24 hs of using it without problems, the phone freezed, rebooted and after the bootanimation bum! black screen. It was on because if I held power button I can see the power off banner. After many reboots getting the same results, I decided to factory reset. And just in case, I reflashed Boot and System.
- 2nd fresh install: I'm getting the static noise bug on moto voice, WiFi toggle dissapears sometimes...
I don't want to keep playing this with a joke rom. I wish I stayed on KK.

I took an OTA and no problem since. Has it ever occurred to you that you cause the problems you described by not following the general practice? Why sbf? Why not OTA?

Well I own a Movistar 1058 so I flashed retail Brazil for 1058 (it works for every 1058 latam).
I also flashed manually (mfastboot). I think it's 'cleaner' than RSD (and by the way I've never used RSD). Besides I have always used mfastboot to flash stock KK after using custom roms and never had a problem. So I discard the method to be the culprit. Aaand, I've seen others reporting same issues too.

Problems:
1) Google GMail app does not support Exchange Account - for some reason Lolipop has separate application for exchange accounts -_- which is worthless because GMail should support it by default, thats very annoying for me, i dont want to use extra apps.
2) Sometimes BACK button doesnt work when i finish scrolling through Facebook app and i am forced to minimize the app and then restore it again.
3) Sometimes, especially after i unplug the phone from the charger, my screen doent want to go to sleep, it just literally sucks my battery life, only thing that helps this bug is a restart
Those are 3 major things that annoy me after update.

Huh, that's really weird. So if you go to Gmail, open the drawer and tap the small arrow on the righthand side next to your Gmail account and tap Add account, you can't set a new one up?

If you're not into touchless control then get CM. You can't go wrong there.. latest updates and highly stable in my case.

Many of us can't flash new ROMs because of locked bootloaders.
Google TTS distortion Moto X AT&T 5.1
I updated to 5.1 on XT1058 AT&T variant of Moto X 1st gen on 7/7/15.
When I have Moto read aloud my text messages the audio output is highly distorted. When I listen to podcasts I have no distortion. If I go to settings/language & input/Text-to-speech output/ and press Listen to an example it is distorted.
In the past with KitKat 4.4.4 I was able to uninstall the latest version of Google TTS which resolved the problem. With the 5.1, neither the current version of Google TTS dated 7/8 nor uninstalling the current version work to solve the issue.
Does anyone have this issue?

I tired listening to a tts example it was very clear, my tts version is 3.4.6.1819666.arm you can try it with other tts engine. There are some engines available on play store
What drives me nuts is the stutter I get when swiping away my recent apps. But no other issues so far for me.

I am using the same version of TTS as yours. I tried Ivona TTS, but there is no way to force the use of Ivona over Google TTS in every instance. It's a known issue with trying to use other TTS engines as the default engine. You end up with 3 different characters speaking/reading to you.

Thanks for the link, that cleared out some things for me, but I've noticed that app looses it's settings after the reboot, is there a way to fix my option (Default is LTE/GSM, but i want it to be GSM - Auto), theres a lot of other buttons that i hardly understand what do they do

After upgraded to 12.0.2. I found my Google service didn't work as normal. I decided to reinstall one by one apk again ( Google play service, framework, account, contact, calendar, play store). After that Google service seem to be fine but only one day. Got error for Google play service missing and play store can't sign in. So, I turn off miui optimization and reinstall Google service again after that Google seem to be fine. But the main problem for me is after 12.0.2 push notifications doesn't work anymore ex line app ( call, message ). If leave mobile for 2-3 minutes , I won't get notifications anymore until enter to the app again. ( Already set battery optimization-off, run in back ground, notifications- important). Any suggestions are welcome.
The only suggestion i have is to downgrade to android 10 again (12.0.2.0 was an upgrade to android 11).

I have updated to 12.5.2 last night. Everything seem to be fine and Nice. No problem with GAPP anymore. System so smooth. But only one serious problem for me is Missing of push notifications ex. Line App. If left the phone 2-3 mins, I won't get any notifications until I enter to the App again . Any suggestions are welcome. If no any ways to fix this notifications. May be I have to decide to downgrade to android 10.But 12.5.2 is so nice. Please Help.

I just got the notification for the 12.5 update are your gapps still working? Mine worked for a while after deleting and reinstalled google play services. Downloading and installing again could fix your line issues.

With 12.5.2 my gapps still working and system so smooth. Could you please explain more for the way to fix notifications problem of Line Application. Just only reinstall Google play service? Which version of Google play service? I just curious why Google can cause problem on line application. By the way i appreciate to try.

I was thinking of reinstalling the line app itself. I wanted to test it here but none of my friends use it.
Hi, i did oficial upgrade to miui 12.5 and google apps work well without problems, without block. google play, play services, gboard, youtube, chrome works fine. essencial google apps already comes natively.

Thank you I also updated and been enjoying it a lot.
I Updated to 12.5.2, all gms are working fine, but push notifications for gmail nope. Any advice or can you post the exact settings you have on the phone for this app.Thank you very much.
