There's no feature in sounds or anywhere in settings. Also if I need device rooted to do that, please let me link to how to vid, as I've never done that.
As far as I kbow, if you have a G800F device you can do it using a custom kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5-mini/orig-development/kernel-custom-kernel-t3130662
For other models, probably using an Xposed module. Both need root.
Damn. I don't get it, why the f they removed it from settings after kitkat...
tried to activate in H with build.prop, and all the vibration was gone
Use SQLite editor. There is a database in package Settings storage named settings.db, find hapic_feedback_enabled name in system category and change the value from 0 to 1 then restart the phone. I think this will help ))

so i want to know if there are any fixes on adding unknown sources (non- market apps) to the settings menu
Well first off can you read forum topics [How To] Enable Non-Market apps on Captivate (consolidated) It right there in a sticky how to do that
but what I'm talking about is having an option in settings>applications with a ticker box
Won't happen ATT blocks it so they will never allow it in the settings menu. Sorry miss read the post
cant someone make an mod for that to inject the feature into settings
Load sre on an it will enable non market apps from the get go no need to worry about that setting menu. I could care less. I used the setting.db mod to make it work for me as I knew from the get go that that setting would never work
from what im reading this guy is wanting the option to check and uncheck at will. Not just hacked to beable to do it. I had it on my droid x and i liked it technically I would have it checked all the time anyway but i do like having the control over it like that
The option is baked out of our settings.apk. What you need is a custom ROM with a different settings.apk. Once you do, the check box will be shown. Exhibit 1, Vibrant Hybrid R3 ROM.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
THere is a settings.apk from the i9000 that has the checkmark. I tried to load it to my cel but it hangs at the samsung logo. Will keep trying!!
Yes it's possible to do with an i9000 rom or some other custom rom. But at the same time, it is still possible to add menus to settings.apk
I would also like to know how to go about adding custom menus to the settings app. Which smali/xml file needs edited to do this?
Hello!
I want to switch on the network connectivity speed display. It was in the settings panel earlier, but now it disappeared.
Or maybe not completely. If I search in the settings I can see that the option exists, but when I click on it, it's hidden... (See the PIC attached)
I'm guessing there is a option in a deeper level where I can set it.
Does anyone know a solution? My phone is rooted, so if it requires editing some config files, I'm all for it.
Thanks.
Mines the same except I got no root.. how did you do yours?
I managed to root with the recovery version.
More details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/general/guide-root-b803-recovery-version-t3157477
Thanks for the reply ... I will downgrade mine to 2.3 and root it and then upgrade again if that setting becomes available again ill let you know
So i have rooted my device via your method and after reinstalling lolipop i found that the setting was stil missing. I however noticed that if you installed the lolipop update from the vodacom version posted here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/general/huawei-p7-l10c02b817-android-5emui3-1-t3207363) it was there again. Unfortunatly for me there is some bugs in that update, there is no keybord app. I then started searching for a way to edit the system wide prefrence database file, where i also found the entry located inside the settings.db file , but it is not possible to edit it without corrupting the data for further use by the phone.
here are some screenshots from my findings

@Unified21 @DomeNet
with root edit data/cust/prop/local.prop
find this line:
ro.config.hw_hideNetworkSpeed=true
and change it to
ro.config.hw_hideNetworkSpeed=false
reboot
Now there is a new setting entry in display section
Great it works!
Thank you!
This Tweak Requires a Rooted LG G4 with a root explorer installed ( Recommended is FX File Explorer ) because it does not mess up with file permissions.
Please do it on your own risk, make a backup before messing up with your phone. I am not responsible if anything goes wrong.
The Tweak will probably work for other variants as well ( Sprint / Verizon / Korean / Dual Sim ) but not guarantee.
The Multi user feature is enabled by default in Europe Open Units but sadly the company disables it in other variants of different regions. So by applying a little tweak into your build prop you can enable it back.
Since most of us really like this feature so i searched for it and found a thread related to Lollipop for same feature. I implemented and it worked for me. So i thought i might share it for people like us who does not want others to mess up our settings.
1- Rooted Phone
2- Root Explorer
3- Edit Build.prop ( Found in system folder )
4- Add below lines.
Code:
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=5
5- Save build.prop and set permission 0644.
6- Reboot device and done.
No need to edit the Framework like in previous versions of android as by adding these lines everything will be enabled, Animation settings etc.
Thanks SignatureBoy, worked like a champ.
Hi guys! I was wondering if anyone knows how to enable the Android built in NavBar on this device. I tried very different methods, from apps to manually mods, but nothing worked. I've added the line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" at the end of build.prop and nothing happened, so i tried to make a local.prop file containing that line in /data folder and still nothing happened. I've also tried by adding "ro.show.navigationbar=yes" in both build.pro and local.prop but still nothing happened. In the last i've installed Xposed, Gravity Box for MM end tried to enable the navbar from here....guess what? Still nothing happened. Please, does someone know how to achieve this? I need to use the nav bar.
P.s i know about the huge amount of alternatives on Google Play, but i don't want to use third part apps that eats my RAM. If i can enable the system built in there's no reason to download a separate app.
Thanks for everyone who reads this.
I am trying to access hidden menus, tried *#1234# for example and nothing happens ?
Verizon always disabled these, unfortunately.
We need to wait for root. Once we have root, we can use Root Explorer to modify a system file that enables the service/engineering screens.
Did you tried these codes;
