Hello.
I have just bought a htc desire 510. However, I notice that there are two versions: 32bit and 64bit. I have never had a phone with two versions like this, so can someone please explain the differences between these phones (apart from the cpu)? e.g., what is the model called for 32bit and 64bit?
Also, can someone who has developed for this phone let me know if it is possible to compile a kernel for both models? Or do I have to compile kernels for each model separately?
Thanks.
The 32 bit version is called a11 and the 64bit is called a11ul...you can check this when you enter in HBOOT mode. But the more easier way to distinguish them is by their origin. If your phone is bought in the USA it's the 32bit version and if it's from EU or Australia it's the 64bit version. I can't answer your second question because I'm not a developer. But from reading here on the forums I think that it's not possible to compile a kernel that will work on both devices.

Hello!I buyed HTC Dream G1 on ebay with installed Android 1.6 (DONUT) on it. I heard that now there are android versions 2.x and i need to have so versions to install most of apps. Please, write my some instructions what should i do to update my device. (1...,2...)I have seen a lots of modifications of roms in your forum but i don't understand nothing about this.
Also I should add : I live in eastern europe (bulgaria) /because i heard that there re some US roms or.../
p.s. i'm so nooby because i migrate from windows mobile phone 6.0 ))
There are many, many posts here on getting 'root' on your phone to allow updates to custom ROMs, though many are geared toward US or UK phones, so it would help to know what carrier your phone is from originally.
Another new user just asked a very similar question, and there are a few links you can check from that thread.
From what I've seen, if you don't have a US or UK phone, you'll probably want to search these forums for "G1 one click root", "exploid" or "goldcard".
And congratulations on your upgrade away from Windows Mobile.
In the Sprint HTC One section for original android development there are very few roms and even fewer that are working properly. I see so many more roms and more functional roms in the main non-carrier specific original android development section. I've tried flashing the pacman rom and it did not work. I was wondering if it would be possible to somehow find a way to flash it or at the very least for someone to give me instructions on how to port it to my carrier (Sprint). Thank You.
As detailed in Q14 of the HTC One FAQ (in my signature), ROMs from the other One forums may not work on the Sprint variant. That's because Sprint is CDMA and the other variants are not - meaning they're not compatible.
EDIT - You can also view the following thread to see which ROMs are compatible - Tons of compatible ROMs over in International HTC One Forum
I'm not sure in regards to your question about porting so you'll need to wait for someone who will be able to answer that better

Before I get started with rooting and flashing, what should I avoid, and what works for out T-Mobile variant? Should I stick to TMO specific ROMs, or can I use something from the Note 4 Snapdragon Development Forum. coming form a HTC One M8 where changing the CID basically made it a generic international model. Do we have the same options with N4?

In the past when I had the note 3 I used N9005 roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development . General rule of thumb as long it says N9005 for the note 3 then its a 80/20 chance that roms will work. I had some run perfectly with a few steps, like compatible kernal and patch for wifi/bluetooth/nfc fixes to work. In my past experience with using these roms, i learned that some will work and some will give you problems no matter what you tried. For example a rom i used for like almost half a year worked just fine, then a update to a new version updates and nothing worked. Kernals, patches nothing worked, so i used another rom for a while and then i went back to it recently and everything was working again.
So my advice is read every single instruction the rom developer has provided and make sure you follow it to ensure success. Read other FAQS and use the search button and so on. Most questions you may have, may already been answered by other people who post regular in the forums.
So based on this information, i believe this model is equivalent to N9005 Roms: http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/ca552ee0
So look for roms that run N910s, from the link above it uses snapdragon processor, so hardware and it looks like the bands are close to US ones. So those are the roms that you need to look for.
One more thing I am not 100% sure if that is indeed the correct model to use, maybe im wrong and someone can correct me. Either way good luck and ask away if you have any other questions.
What i wana say is that we have lost developers of our htc desire510 64 bit version so i was wandering if any one could build a rom for us ... i will pay if needed
Most posts I am seeing about unlocking bootloader and custom roms are for XT1921-5. I cannot seem to find this phone anywhere. Is this the USA variant? The closest I have found is the XT1921-3 (Boost Mobile) variant here
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/boost-...mory-cell-phone-black/6221728.p?skuId=6221728
Would I able to bootloader unlock and install custom roms on this? I'm looking for a backup phone that has LTE 2,4,5,12,13,17,25,26,41,66 bands and this one is perfect but I need to know if I will be able to unlock bootloader and install custom rom.
I can't find any good information about the different variants and what models support what bands and which models can be rooted.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks

I'm just doing "get a free phone from MetroPCS" due diligence so I don't have the phone in hand, but it looks like the XT1921-3 is actually the T-Mobile/MetroPCS (USA) version, which has been problematic for ppl. Good news is that it now has a factory image available (see thread here, although no clear reports on that yet . . . one seems to imply there was a problem with it, but I'm not totally clear).
So I'm not by any means an expert on Motorola firmware, but I'd be surprised if Boost (CDMA, right?) had the same model # as T-Mobile (GSM)--and I'm a little overtired but didn't see any note of the Motorola model # on the Best Buy link you provide.
In any case, not sure about bands and such, but hope that tidbit helps a little, in case you do in fact need something for the T-Mobile variant (-3), or if it's the same as Boost and I'm just a moron.
