Hi,
I have galaxy note 5 with android version 6.0.1.
When someone calls me, the phone will display both the name & number of the caller. I'd like to hide the phone number when somebody calls me and display the name only. Just like the iPhone.
I've searched a lot but I couldn't find a solution. I'll really appreciate your solution on this.
Regards
Perhaps you need a custom phone app other than the native one.

No I'm not talking about the service provider. In the iPhone if someone calls you you will see only the name of the caller that you have saved, while in Android will show both the name and phone number! And want to hide the phone number.
I've attached 2 pictures to give you more understanding.

I think it must be phone app which determine whether to show only the name or both the name and phone number.
Anyone can advise which app may I use?
No is getting displayed on Call screen not in the dialer app, so I don't think so any app will be able to change it.
I boat the galaxy note 7 and also has the same limitations. Really disappointing.
I'll be really glad if someone can develop a specialized app and I'm willing to pay for this is favir.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading from a Tmobile Dash to a G1 but need to know if there is a program on the Android platform similar to the CallFirewall program on Windows where it will take an incoming call and sends it directly to voicemail if on the blacklist. It's actually a deal breaker for me as I love the flexible whitelist / blacklist options on CallFirewall.
Thanks!
How does that functionality built into the os tickle your fancy?
In every contact entry there's a checkbox that says "send calls to voicemail" it makes it so your phone doesn't ring or show the call, the missed call is in the log but no notification... and best yet to the person on the phone its as if you haven't done a thing... rings all the way to VM
there's a callblocker app on the market for free.

Yes, its by bratag =] requires root access, so root your phone before downloading.
What does that mean? Root your phone?
Also, could someone tell me how many contacts the phone will hold?
I'm leaning toward getting one.

Android is linux based and the super user account is called 'root', there is various ways to root android phones and you can even buy an ADP (Android Developer Phone) which comes by default with super user access enabled.

Android (not just G1) uses SQLite to store information and depending on ram etc it's for all intents and purpose limitless.
Cool, thanks about the contacts.
Still not sure what the root thing means, but with a built in call blocker I guess it doesn't really matter

Works amazingly.
I also can't find bratag's call blocker on the market anymore. Does anyone still have a copy of the app?

So I noticed today that there is a app for iPhone which actually work! to spoof the original caller's number to be shown as different number.
I don't want to do thhat myself,
What I would like to know is if there is a app which can find out the who the original caller is? in case i get a faked calls.
Thanks
There is no such thing.
It's called caller id fake on android. It was on my mytouch 3g when I bought it (was a used phone).

There is too! Do a search in Market for an app called SpoofApp. It works very well and you can change your voice in it as well. Kinda creepy but it works!

you guys didnt read the OP's question. he is NOT trying to spoof his number, but instead wants an app that can determine a spoofers REAL number (or something along those lines).
and as far as i know, its impossible. people want to be able to trace private calls all the time, but theres a reason the number is private or unlisted.

I see... I only know how to unmask blocked calls not spoofed calls.
Trapcall is a good service to use.
Is there any app just like phonelog+ at android which can summary the phone's calling time?
That would be really nice to have one, so we could have something proof againsr carriers overbilling.
eight+ months had passed!

Hi My mum just got herself the g note and asked the question why cant she put more than one number to a particular contact? comparing this to my s2 the rom feels the same and all but when you want to add more numbers to one contact it only gives prevision for name, last name, phone no. and email and that's it.. My s2 can input more than one number i was just wondering is there a way to do this off stock? or would i have to get a 3rd party app for this?
If its any help its the note n7000b.. (don't know why it has "b")..
Cheers.

Think that's because the contacts are saved to the sim and not the phone memory or sync with Google I have mine synchronized with Google so gives me all the options

Thanks. I haven't rooted yet. This may be a task for later. Was hoping someone might have had good experience with something from the play store.
Hiya is pretty good. It doesn't require root, has blocking capabilities (though not before it rings once, usually). I'm not sure how resource hungry it is.
I am also looking for some way to have Full or Half screen caller id pictures like I used to have on my Xperia XZ Premium!
