Sorry abouto this. I'm new here. Looked and looked but couldn't find anything. I installed tekxodus rom and can't get the wifi working.....any ideas?
Are you on n910t....and are you on 5.1.1 DOK2.....and what kernel are you using?
I'm on epe3 firmware I believe and running beast mode kernel.
Also, yes n910t
Could just be your router sucks, i upgraded to an AC 1600 wifi router and no probs here.

I have the same issue now that I'm on MM. I was connected to my 5G, 200Mbs connection and was not even getting 1Mb. I connected to my 2.5ghz connection and it it quite a bit quicker, but still not a fraction of what I was getting on Lollipop.
WiFi not working? Kernel issue.
It's almost definitely a kernel issue. It always is.
So flash a different kernel for your phone, suchas Emotion kernel or BeastMode

My N1 used to be able to get a decent signal everywhere in the house but of late it's struggling to even detect and maintain a solid connection with the wireless in the next room to the router.
I've got a laptop and iPhone in here and all of them have full bars except the N1, which keeps switching from data to wireless and back and can't maintain the connection consistently.
Any ideas on why?
Does it have to do anything with the radio/kernel?
Anyone?
I'm thinking of changing the kernel, would that help?

Try this first.
Tell the phone to forget the network, restart your router and see if reconnecting takes care of it. My notebook used to have this issue so it's worth a shot.
If that doesn't help, then you might look into a different ROM/Kernel or make sure that it's not a hardware fault with the N1 itself.
Could it be due to an OTA update that changed the radio?
The same happens to me, And it gets to a stage that it totally disconnects from wifi. It's really getting ln my nerves as we even got a booster and it doesn't help :?

same weak wifi signal on HTC Desire.

i second that. though i don't own N1, my Desire was getting full signal last year, recently i am getting very low signal as well. other devices get full signal as usual. so probably there was some update messing up.
i'll keep on searching if someone has better info to resolve.
Radio doesn't have anything to do with WiFi. Kernel does.
i'm having the same problem...has anyone found a fix?
The problem's extended significantly. Bluetooth headset usage stutters profusely, even when I'm right next to the device.
I'm pretty sure the Wi-Fi issue has nothing to do with my router, since my Desire has full signal in the same place my N1 has one bar and is struggling to get a connection.
Changed kernels, ROMs, radios, flashed engineering SPL (I know that doesn't help, however) and even a stock EPE54B ROM. No results.

Makes no difference, I even tried flashing back to stock EPE54B (fastboot).
you may also give intersectRaven's kernel a try. the one with the wifi boost.

2.6.38.6_CAVS-CM7_CFS_20110517_2251 is the one I'm trying.
Nope, Wi-Fi range still the same, Bluetooth still stuttering on the new kernel.
I installed texas ICE p12 version a few days ago and found that wifi was working even on the 5GHz channels. Does anyone know of any wifi driver/kernel that would add this functionality in stock gingerbread?
(Currently wifi n works on nexus one only on 2.4 GHz channels.)
thats very interesting. i didn't noticed that and already been back to cm7.2 but i think it's more a hardware limitation and it has nothing to do with drivers or kernels. am i right?

I have the same rom albeit i have the latest one (2.20a1), I also have a router with 5ghz I can double check once i get home, i also have the latest tiamat kernel
So for about a week now, I've been having horrendous wifi issues on my device running CM 10.1 nightlies. My problem being that my phone will remain connected to wifi but no actual connection is present. It's very sporadic and highly annoying. After the problem occcurs, it still says i am connected but i can't actually access the internet.. Temporarily disabling wifi and re enabling fixes it for a couple minutes then it happens again. I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue as i can use my school wifi for an entire day without disconnects or anything but i can't get mine to work. I've tried carbon rom, diff nightlies, clear data+ cache but nothing works. This also happened on an xperia running CM (my dads). Any solution??

So the issue is on the router side, do you have a dual band router? if so make sure 5ghz is up and running. If you have a single band router thats capable of 5ghz, make sure all you wireless devices are capable of 5ghz freqency and if so switch it over.
Also Ive fixed this/ or similar issues on networks by disabling QoS in the router settings, id recommend disabling it and see if it helps

The strange thing is I haven't changed any router settings at all and before last week I've had absolutely no issues with wifi. Now it seems I can't keep a connection for more than a couple minutes max. Also, sometimes (not always) I'll try connecting to a different router or access point and it'll connect and the next second it'll instantly disconnect. I'll try your suggestion and hope it works

Just restarting the device works for me, using eternity project kernel stock version, I don't know for CM though, try installing latest nightly and install a custom kernel, most of them are better than stock CM kernel

The problem went away after a week. Weird issue with the router or something.

Hello.
Noticed this morning when watching movie clips off facebook that the clips could just shut down randomly. WTH i thought and tried and tried and sometimes it played the clip longer and sometimes just shut them down.
Switched to 2.4ghz wifi instead and that seemed to work alot better. Even tried the same clips over 3g and that seemed to work aswell hence i belive it is some problem when using the 5ghz.
Signal strength is showing very good on both bands but still problem. Anyone else been having theese problems ?
Im running the .757 NCB firmware with the stock kernel from that firmware and rooted. Bootloader relocked with flashtool. Router im using is the Asus RT-N66U. Never had problems like this with the other phones.
EDIT: Done more testing when at work on pure 3g connection and it opens clips posted on facebook and plays for a little while and then closes them down back to facebook. So it doesent seem to be problems with wifi/3g.
What could cause this ? Dunno what player the facebook apps uses when opening videos.
I also have a problem with wifi... When I connect to 1 particular modem (sadly my houses) it messes up the modem. The modem behaves like hectic and kicks out all devices, or looses connection. Checked with the provider and they sent 3 technicians. They did not do anything. Please help, as it only happens with this device and it feels like my ZTE modem is allergic to it...
Sorry if it's off topic, but I thought maybe there are any similarities between cases.
I am also having a problem with 5ghz. My wifi keep disconnecting and switching between 5ghz and 2.4 ghz
even when I am in better coverage of 5ghz. Also usually net don't work properly on 5ghz.
Well I think my problem is gone, or hoping anyway I repaired the phone with Sony update. Unrooted now but it will remain like that until a stable and working software are available.

I experienced issues with the 5ghz and 2.4ghz, but nothing like what you guys have had. Are you using the same SSID for both 5ghz and 2.4ghz? if so try changing them slightly, sorted out my problems, and it also fixed problems that some of my customers were experiencing too.
Hi All, I've searched around and can't find threads that are exactly what I'm experience, so I'm hoping this is something the community can help with. I've been experiencing this problem since flashing CM11 a few months ago. My wifi has no problem searching and connecting, but intermittently while on wifi, I'll notice that I'll only send data and not receive it. Waiting 15-30 seconds will usually have it come back, or disabling/enabling will also fix it, but it's never consistent. I notice when the phone is plugged in, the wifi connection stays pretty good.
Just to clarify, I am not losing the wifi signal and the phone stays connected to the network. This happens in all kinds of wifi (whether home or work). Any help would be appreciated!

I dont know if its the same in CM11 but in stock rom you have some wifi options to reduce battery usage, maybe turning them off could help? If not you should make a nandroid baclup of your current setup and flash another rom temporarily to see if the issue persist. Btw are you using a stable build of CM11 or nightly builds? If you are using nightlty builds, you might want to try with a stable version.
Is this always happening when using routers of the same brand? I already had this kind of issue but it was with my One X not my M7. The only way I was able to use the wifi without making the routers hang (every d-link router) was to turn off the N band (5Ghz) and only use the 2.4 Ghz bands (a/b/g). Maybe it worth a try... but I never heard of this issue for the M7.

I tried the Wifi optimization option and it's the same performance. I'm using a stable build of CM11 and wanted to see if there's something I'm missing before flashing again.
I'ts a little bit difficult to tell which routers this happens with, as I can recall only having consistent wifi traffic once in the past 3-4 months. I've switched back and forth between 2.4ghz and 5ghz on my home router to the same issue as well.
Thanks for the suggestions...may just have to resort to a new ROM...
