Called a bunch of stores within an hour of me before I found one that still had a brand new one in stock. Manufactured in April 2016 so hopefully no bootloop issues (fingers crossed). For the price... impossible to beat value wise. $4/mo more than one of the "mid level" offerings like the Galaxy J7 and annihilates those in all categories. Have a Diztronic TPU case and a PNY 128GB card arriving tomorrow for it, so far its been great. Was going to see about leaving it unrooted with all the bloat disabled/uninstalled but after having a rooted G2 for over 2 years and no ads... can't deal with the spam so I'll unlock/root it and go from there.
Also very cool to see so much support out there still for this thing. Hoping it lasts me as long as my G2 did. I did have a G3 briefly on VZW before I switched to T-Mo and that one was great too. Kind worried with the direction the G5 is going but anyway... Very happy.
Also the store that had this new G4 still had a new G3 as well... go figure. If they had a current price vs $400 not updated since 2015... I dunno lol. I paid $349 for this G4 which is a damn steal for what you get. I'll pass on the $700-$800 "flagships" because I don't need to render video for Pixar while playing Pokemon Go and telling someone they are wrong on facebook...

Glad you got one. It's a great phone. Next time, stop by swappa.com/buy/lg-g4-tmobile. You can get a like new device for a greatly cheaper price. And if you have the replacement insurance through T-Mo like I do, 3rd party sold phones like these are covered 100%. Been doing this for the past 3 years now.
Will def check that site out thanks. But... After having used phones I'll do the new thing when I can. I have half a mind to pick that new G3 up as a spare or a gift or something.
But this is easily the best phone I have had except for maybe my Vzw G2 before someone walked off with it... No idea but that phone FLEW...
Got the Tpu case in just now (Diztronic like always) and the PNY card. Time to root and load up the music etc... Also ordered a Qi charging sticker for charging. Really really really hoping this thing stays solid and does not suffer from bootloops...
Edit... Rofl they do indeed want $400 for that G3... I paid $349 for this G4...
Great phone
Love this phone, got it two months ago for $250 brand new after haggling with customer care. Came from the Samsung S5 and it's quite a step up, I'm rooted using latest version of Turbo's Enterprise rom and it's night and day from stock.
Congrats on the purchase.
Yeah I just rooted tonight without incident. Still deciding if I want to go with a rom or not. Phone is fast as hell as is, I've got ads blocked, bloat disabled/uninstalled and I get 7GB a month of tethering for free from T-Mo already... Mainly rooted to get rid of the ads.

Hi Are you talking about JUMP? Because I didn't know that you can apply it to third-party phones. If it is not can you let me know, Thank you.

This is completely false. I've sim unlocked easily while bootloader unlocked and rooted. Just be stock based, not cm, and you'll be fine. I used the tmo sim unlock app right after I met the requirements and sim unlocked easily. I restored to cm immediately afterwards.
I recommend making a backup and flashing micro's stock zip build and trying the sim unlock app. If you're still having issues, check if you meet tmo's sim unlock requirements. (device paid off, device on the account long enough, enough payments have been made if prepaid.)

I am on my 3rd phone with poor GPS aquisition, browser freezes, email being pushed when it is not supposed to and a really odd thing where hitting the "on" button causes my phone to jump back and forth between music and dialing my last call or received number--only when my headphones are plugged in. It does not look like the update has targeted any of those. They offered a razr as a swap out but am going to the darkside. Ipone on the way and I will be "clouding" with my new macbook.
Too bad really since the bionic concept seemed to be outstanding for me.
On another note VZ just moved my update up to get the iphone so I have to pay the regular upgrade price. No credit give for the $200 I already spent on the bionic. I asked them what do I do with a phone that will not work properly...she actually told me to sell it on ebay or craigslist.. A customer service rep actually telling me to sell one of their faulty products to some other poor sap.
Can't tell if your bragging or complaining.
I don't want to jump the gun, but I don't think you'll be missed by many? Judging from your rep count, I don't think you're a developer or anything.
But anyway, buh bye!
good luck on a i****
I had that problem with my t bolt. They kept telling me they'll give me an early upgrade, but what about the $250 I already spent? Does that not mean I get a working phone for spending $250 and signing a new 2 year contract? Nope, you can keep getting crappy phones or pay more. Finally after 6 thunderbolts I got upgraded to a bionic.

Wow very well put!
I was plagued by Bionic data problems. 901 Was the first rom that actually addressed it for me.
But now 902 Has fixed data100 percent! So love affair with my BIONIC is back.
He can take his $lowa$$ iphone and shove it up his brown i.
Does everyone have to tell us bye when they get a new phone? I've never been part of a.community that people feel the need to tell everyone bye when they get a new phone.
On a side note, I wouldn't care if Verizon offered me an early upgrade because I want what I already paid for to work, not spend more to get something that works. I would just keep returning the phone until they offered me a different phone, not an early upgrade that I have to spend more money on. After so many replacements, I would tell them I want something different because I have no confidence that they can send me one that works, and if they don't, I will buy out the contract and switch to sprint. Last thing they want is for you to buy out the contract and switch to the competition. You have to go through a few replacements first though for it to work. Verizon replaced my Droid Eris with a Droid 2 that way (I had.to buy the battery, back cover, and charger though because they don't send those out with replacement phones)

I'm okay with the Bionic for now. I spend too much money on it. Bought the extended bat, wireless charger, lapdock, bat dock.....
Bio's good. Only issue for me is the locked bootloader that delays rom creation.

Even if it had an unlocked bootloader, we're not guaranteed to have more roms. There are phones out there with unlocked bootloaders and still get very little development. I think that Verizon releasing better phones right afterwards has a lot to do with us not getting more.development, along with the bootloader being locked.
The LG revolution has been out since last may and has an unlocked bootloader, and we have just as many if not more roms than they do. If you want a solid development community, you have to go with an HTC phone or a nexus.

But I was referring to my hand at rom development.
I am going to try to port MIUI
All the best with your new phone
Since the phone is two years old at this point, I'm wondering it would not be prudent to get a used one. They're going for $100 on eBay, my concern is that the not exactly stellar battery life will have detoriated to an unusable point.
Can anyone chime in with their experiences? Insight?

i was just reading some of the feed back about it and it come in a non factory box but comes with warranty and look brand new, if you were to brake your screen it cost $120 to get it replaced, still looks like a good deal, its listed as new
iv had good luck buying used phones for ebay, just thoroughly test as soon as you get it, ebay has buyer protection if your not satisfied with it all you will be out is time and effort, you have 45 days to return it even used
I bought one of those phones from eBay for ~$100. The first one's camera worked occasionally. I'm now using the replacement and it's working. The battery is pretty good. It's gotten me through the day, and I've been downloading a lot of apps. I was able to root it this weekend, but it was tough. It reminded me of my Droid 2 days... Too bad the bootloader is locked.
So I understand that we have locked bootloader but it seems that these forums are dying. This is the first LG phone ive ever owned but it really feels dead even compared to my Galaxy note 3. It's like nobody is even trying to do anything with it and its made me quite sad. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to make this phone feel fun and different like I remember doing to my Galaxy s2 or s3? I miss the good old days when a new rom came out every week and new exploits came out almost instantly.
Since there is no official unlock method, it's very tough to develop. Even if there was a workaround to unlock, these money hungry CDMA carriers lock us out of fastboot and adb, so it wouldn't be possible either way. I really wish I would've waited for the new Nexus phones or the OnePlus Two.

The one plus 2 isn't for CDMA, but yeah, the nexus phone would have been great.

Wasn't saying it was. I'm saying I wish I would've waited for it. I didn't want a carrier phone to begin with, but the G4 made me want it. Big mistake

I know how you feel. I had mine since release and though I think its an all around great phone root for the most part has done me justice. I just think the general idea of bootloader locking is bull**** and should be illegal. I would love a nexus phone but I will not buy into googles push to cloud storage and their services. I can deal with no removable battery but non expandable memory is a no go. Honestly if/when we get android M on the G3 and we get a custom rom I will go back to it provided the bluetooth issues are ironed out. But thats just my 2 cents

Bootloader unlock, illegal... Really? Please don't be that guy. We bought the phone, we should be able to do what we want to it. That's like buying a car and it being illegal to change your own oil.
You might want to read that again. Where did I state that UN locking it should be illegal. I said the whole boot loader locking thing is bs ie we should not be locked out from it.
I called LG and talk to a tech who told me if I send my phone to them they would unlock my bootloader but it would void my warranty and of course I already knew that but I was just shocked that they said yes instead of telling me no.
I'm running poprocks 16 and it's great, but the itch to upgrade something in my mobile world is getting strong and in lieu of a better device existing I guess the latest software will suffice. Anyone on DOK2 think I'll miss much from poprocks?
Plus... The 2 year dropbox promotion from my note 3 is about to expire. If I rollback to stock and sign into the preinstalled dropbox for the first time will it start my two years of extra dropbox space that would have come with my note 4? I know they won't stack, but a continuation would be sweet too
What I've found with those Dropbox promos is that it's for new accounts. That means you'll have to use a different email to set up a new account. Whether they're still honoring it after all this time is anyone guess.
Isn't Poprocks for the N4? Anyway, I'm in the N4 and I've stayed on FireKat. I didn't see any grand reason to upgrade. Many understanding is that once you go to 5.1.1 your bootloader will be stuck on lollipop, so you don't N4 able to get back to a clean Kit Kat.

Dropbox promos changed after 2014 from a universal deal to new accounts only, luckily I got my N4 in early December 2014 so according to M$ and Samsung I should get the promo, but each company is saying I need to check with the other one and they refuse to participate in a 3 way call. Samsung also said it might work if I tried logging into dropbox from a completely stock fresh install after my N3 promotion runs out(three days from now), so it would look like I was setting up the phone for the first time. They always blame roms and rooting though so I'm hoping to hear if that's worked for anyone else since they made the charming choice to lock the bootloader.
When I asked them about replacing my battery a few months ago because my phone would lose the last 25% in a few seconds and die they tried to blame that on the custom rom too, had to make a whole new phone call with way less honesty
For $15 you can get a new Anker Battery. I wouldn't waste my time trying to get that replaced as it is probably not covered by warranty anyway. Good luck!

I've had at least 4 Ankers for various devices that all swelled within a few months, cheapo bogus. Batteries are covered by both tmobile(no insurance) and Samsung for a year. My Tmobile store handed me a new battery and asked me to dispose of the old one properly, then samsung asked for the battery to be shipped back so it was easy to end up with a spare. My point was that I don't trust Samsung when they suggest that rooting or a rom could be the reason I'm not getting the dropbox promo, case and point is that they'll blame a dying battery on rooting.
There's gotta be other people on a Christmas upgrade cycle that's hitting the dropbox renew time right about now...
If I buy a N6P out of the Play Store will my AT&T N6 sim just drop in and work provided I setup the phone to work with AT&T in whatever ways I need to?
I owe like $280 dollars still on my AT&T Next for the N6 and it's given me issues. No matter WHAT ROM or Kernel I used, it restarts a lot. Also Google Voice to Text gives me fits that are driving me crazy. I assume those are unrelated but I just kinda want a new phone due to all these issues.
I bet I reboot like 7 or 8 times a day randomly. Even stock-nonrooted.
I called AT&T and they were pretty much no help. They said they would knock $100 off my Next payment and let me turn in the phone now if I paid off the rest AND bought a new phone from them using Next. I want the N6P and last I knew they dont offer it though.
I really can't afford to pay off my N6 AND buy an N6P right now so I'm hoping I can buy an N6P and just swap the sims for now and continue paying off the N6.
Any info would be great.
It will work just fine, just pop your sim in and you are good to go.
AT&T would block the IMEI of the 6 for non-payment, not the SIM. So, what you're planning on doing will work. Just keep up on the payments.
Yes unfortunately I have to keep up the payments, there are three other lines attached to this account. I'm trying to see what I can get AT&T to do for me , they basically told me if I pay off a reduced price for the phone will let me get a new phone on the next program but they only let me have the reduced price if I agree to take another phone on next and frankly I want the 6p.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
As far as Next is concerned as long as you don't use the Next program to upgrade your phone then you're fine though you'll probably wanna return the N6 after the upgrade date comes around so you don't get charged the 6 remaining months of installments. And unless something major has changed then a sim swap is all thats needed to get the 6p working on AT&T (assuming the 6P is a nano-sim, probably is but might double check on that one.)
Grab the 6p, and maybe you can use your next upgrade on a phone coming out in the next 6 months.
I feel your pain in the N6 reboots. With mmb29v installed on my N6, it was rebooting ALL the freaking time. Are you rooted? Tweaking the kernel? I found that my kernel tweaks were the cause of my problem. Once I turned off the apply on boot, my N6 stabilized nicely.
Running mmb29x now, not rooted, no issues.
