Group Messaging Option Gone - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried the following but I cannot get group Messaging Option (checkbox within stock messaging app) to stick: removing apps, reseting default, format cache, format data, flash back to stock, and odin. The best result occur immediately after flashing via odin but shortly after, the option disappears again.
Any ideas?
Any confirmation that this proble/option persist on custom roms?

Are you using stock kernel?

[Q] Flash with Repartition doesn't remove Force Close

Hi,
I installed the speedmode and tried to use the lagfix and root on gingerbread. It obviously didn't work. After that I couldn't boot. After flashing different Android versions (2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.3) using repartition and three files I still get Force Closes after booting (for examplfe immediatly after booting by the Setup Assistant).
Browser Works. I can phone people. Gmail and Google Maps Force Close. Adding a Google Account leads to force close.
What could I have damaged that can not be undone by flashing with repartition and three files?
try to format the sd intrernal
and wipe/data cache

I made a Soft- and Hardreset several times. When I click on settings -> sd -> Format there doesn't seem to happen much. Takes a few seconds. Even most Data on my SD remains.
try boot into recovery and wipe data/cache and factory reset.... has solved the most amazing problems for me...

[Q] How do you flash a new ROM over cm7 or fix cm7?

Okay so I was a little too hyper with this ROM and I ended up installing everything from titanium backup onto cm7 which messed up a lot of things. I got the "com.android.phone unexpectedly stopped working" error and a few others. I tried wiping the davlik cache, wiping cache, and even a factory reset along with reinstalling cm7, yet com.android.phone is still gone (I have no contacts or dialer available in apps). I'm lost in what to do next. I would like to flash a new rom or if I could, flash a completely-back-to-normal cm7.
Thanks,
Eric
Go back into recovery and flash cm7 again, if you want to flash another rom flash back to stock jf6 and install a different rom.
I've tried to flash cm7 in recovery, sometimes it gets rid of the apps like a memory wipe but it won't reinstall the apps that are supposed to come with cm7 like dialer and contacts. How can I flash it to jh6? Master reset only got me to a memory wiped cm7.
You should not be running cm 7 if you do not know how to flash stock using odin one click.
Secondly, reflashing rom will reinstall all system apps. Make sure you are formatting system and cache then flash rom

[Q] google framework error msg after odin

Hello,
I'm back with a new problem
I updated my Note to LPY tonight. After fully rooting it I wanted to flash Abyss kernel in order to do a full wipe and flash Rocketrom V5. After flashing Abyss kernel I restarted the note and it got stuck at boot logo. After a couple of tries I wanted to go back to GB.
I used Odin to reinstall KJ1 and start from scratch. The process ended normally but after entering my pincode I received all kind of error messages like:
google framwork, calendar and so on and couldn't get through the set up.
I tried to reinstall the rom...same problem. I tried to reinstall LPY but get the same kinda messages at setup and can't get through.
I didn't do any wipe
Please help
Thanks
BruXav
Just reinstall gb and make sure it installed fully then go to recovery and do a wipe data the same thing happens to me again make sure u r on gb not ics be carefull

Go back to stock GB. Boot up once. Switch off. Boot to stock recovery ( power volume up home). Wipe cache and factory reset. Reboot.
Should fix it..

[Q] nandroid backup problem

So I created a backup using the PhilZ bootloader. Then I restored the original firmware using odin because I needed to get the original gallery app. Now I'm trying to restore the backup, but I'm having problems. The first time I tried I got an error asking me to select a backup account or something. I did it again, this time doing a full wipe (with preload and everything) and then wiping cache and dalvik cache. I am still having problems however. Gmail doesn't stay open, trying to open the settings force closes touchwiz, and the phone and messaging apps have disappeared. Any ideas what's going on or how I can fix this? Anything I can do to give you guys more detail?
Philz is philz and odin is odin

So that's it then? Back to square one? If so, ok, but I'd rather not.

Google voice search making my phone unusable

I've tried flashing slim rom and paranoid Android and all do the same thing. As soon as Google apps are installed the Google voice search prompt pops up repeatedly. It disables calling and also all sounds. I have turned it off in Google settings best I could and it still keeps happening. It has essentially made my nexus 6 unusable. And since I need the Google app I don't know what to do. Anyone seen this problem before? I am guessing it is not rom specific as it happens on all I have tried. Help severely needed

When I flashed a different ROM there were always issues when I did not a wipe in TWRP recovery (factory reset).
I have cleared data and cache along with a system wipe. Any thing else I can try to wipe?

In TWRP there is a message about wiping.
When you did that it is OK.
Effect should be that after booting the new rom, you need to completely setup the device again (setup wizard).
When there are still issues it could be a corrupt download.
I'll try to be more clear here.
I have done a factory reset (system, data, cache, dalvik) from TWRP.
I install new rom (chroma, paranoid, slim, and a stock build)
Boot up phone, complete setup wizard.
"Listening" prompt from google voice search starts popping up repeatedly, over and over no matter what I am doing on the phone.
I disable google voice search, doesn't matter, continues to pop up.
In the meantime it disables all sounds on the phone and I cannot place a call/take a call.
Again, this is the same actions that happen regardless of what rom I have installed, even after doing the reset.
Try changing the GApps package you flash after your ROMs.
I'm guessing you've been using the same GApps with each ROM you listed. Download another GApps and use that instead in a clean flash of a given ROM.
Good luck!
(One more thought: You could try clean flashing a ROM with a built-in GApps and see if that works...)

There are two important options in TWRP.
WIPE and FORMAT.
You have installed several different roms. The memory could be messed up.
A format could help.
The last suggestion I can do is: back to stock.
Flash a factory image.
Leave bootloader unlocked.
Check if the issue is gone when the stock rom is set up.
Than choose a custom rom, start with Chroma.

What do I format? System? It doesn't seem to be a Google specific problem as even with Google not installed the phone just hangs up when I dial a number and sound doesn't work. It went away on its own about an hour after start up and I've been good for a week. Now just this morning it started doing it again. The volume turned itself up a notch and boom no sound on video can't call anyone. It's very strange, and must be a deep rooted issue as it is across all roms. The only difference with Google now installed is the listening prompt popping up constantly. Without its just what I listed above.

Revert back to stock (e.g. with Wug's nexus root Toolkit), leave bootloader unlocked. Then reflash your things and see if problem persists. If it does, try TK GApps and don't install Google App (per gapps-config.txt).
