So tired of waiting for Marshmallow through AT&T for my Galaxy S5. Is there a reliable, safe, way to download Marshmallow without screwing everything up?
Thank you in advance

The title says it all. I'm trying to go for a Galaxy S6 look for lolipop since our update doesn't seem to be around the corner.
Send me a pm.

That's the stock AOSP lollipop boot animation, what I want is the international samsung boot animation not in QMG format.

Anyone have cm12 running? Any feedback if performance and battery? Any features you miss?

No one has cm12. You can tell just by going into android development and original development. There are no non-TW roms there.

I hear Samsung released sources for the galaxy s6. So maybe that'll all change sooner then later?

Won't change without first having an unlocked bootloader and root for everybody.

Holy ****. You're not serious are you? The only S6 variants with a locked bootloader are ATT and Verizon. And the only people that don't have root are the ones running 5.1.1. Stop spreading false information!
Hey, I have been out of the rooting game for some time, but I was wondering if this phone can be unlocked and flashed with something like cyanogenmod? I have done research but can't find anything conclusive. Thanks!

I presume you are referring to the Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T)?
If so then yes you can flash SU and TWRP via Odin and install a compatible ROM through recovery.
That's because the bootloader is not locked. Or at least at the moment with 5.1.1

Is this in regard to the T-Mobile model?

Yes. The T-Mobile S6 variant (SM-G920T) does NOT have a locked a bootloader at present.
The S7 however does and the suspicion (though unfounded at the moment) is that once T-mobile releases the Marshmallow update for the S6 it may lock the bootloader. Thus, it is probably going to be a good idea to wait on taking the Marshmallow update as soon as it is available (if root is desirable).
So will any normal Roms available for the standard GSM s7 work with the T-Mobile model? Also, is installing twrp as simple as something like a Nexus? I haven't been in the ROM game for a while, thanks for the help guys

There won't be any ROMs available for the S7 so long as the bootloader remains locked.
If you want to root your T-Mobile S6 > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7W-3yo89UI
Sorry, I meant the s6, will I be able to install things such as cyanogenmod?

For the umpteenth time yes. You just need to make sure that whatever ROM you want to flash is compatible with the T-Mobile S6 variant (SM-G920T).
There is a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Android Development forum here at XDA which will have a number of different ROMs to choose from as well as information and support for said ROMs.
Thanks man

Good suspicion. ..I thought of that right away myself thus why I returned my s7... The s6 with few tweaks is as nice in many aspects not all but suits my needs .

Yep. Really like my 64g S6 flat. And you are right, with a few tweaks it is a great device.
So simple question:
At the moment, can I install a custom ROM on an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 G920A running Android version 6.0.1?

I see the one for 5.1 but not MM
Then you would need to downgrade Android versions to use the tethered root because there isn't one for marshmallow. Last time I checked there was no way to downgrade after moving to mm. Just out of luck unless this device gets cracked. Which since it has not happened yet it looking doubtful for the future.

Is that the Oreo zip? No of course not. Don't post random links if they cannot help me.
The link you and the other guy posted just states someone might have Oreo on exynos. Does not help my post whatsoever.

I think it will be out very soon, Samsung have really been pushing latest updates and security patches for note 8 since January for all models both unlocked/unbranded and carrier versions and it would be a strange thing to release the S9 with Oreo without the Note 8 getting it either before or at the same time

Indeed...
In other words: there's NO LEAK of Oreo yet for Exynos (otherwise it would have been posted already!)...
