Greetings,
I have unlocked my Moto X 2014 victara, and installed TWRP & a costume ROM, now I am able to boot the device, but it shows no service, SIM card was detected, but no service, I did the trouble shooting as the following:
1- I checked IMEI number, it is present
2- I dialed *#*#4636#*#*: tried to enable RADIO but I couldn't
3- Flashed modem and fsg.mdm from stock ROM by fastboot, but still not working
Now even if I want to go back to stock ROM by fastboot commands it pauses at startup, but when I flash a costume ROM it goes alright, except the SIM card no service issue
Any help please?
UPDATE: I fixed it.
I downloaded Kitkat and Lollipop from this website:
http://www.graffixnyc.com/motox.php
Then I flashed 4.4.4 using fastboot followed by 5.0 using fastboot too
There are a lot of article in the community explains how to flash stock ROMs
My problem was I was using the Brazilian firmware while I have the US version. Now everything is going great.

Hello,
Recently I have started flashing custom roms on my UB C6903. Every time I flash a custom rom, I end up having no IMEI on phone, and thus cant connect to cellular network. I follow the following procedure:
Flash to stock .1.534.
Root
Fastboot flash boot.img
Flash custom rom from recovery
Tried with Dirty Unicorns and CyanHackers 5.0.2, and Pac-Man 4.4.4. All three end up having 0 as IMEI, or no IMEI at all. WiFi works fine. Rom appears to work fine aswell. My stock roms are T-Mobile branded, but my phone is unbranded and sim-unlocked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe you have the same problem i had !
take a look here :

hope that will help you
To follow up on this, it was a problem with my flashing routine. I ended up flashing 757, then Doomkernel for official roms, and then the 5.0.x rom of my choice. Full cellular capabilities are functional now.
To reply on your fix, Im using the C6903 model so the C6902 modem would not have done anything. It was the only result I got when I tried solving my issue. Either way, problem solved! Thread can be closed.
Wp ! for me i used the method indicated above and that worked for me
Hi all, I need help.
I have an XT1053 developer edition, gsm. In the past I've unlocked bootloader just to use Xposed on Kitkat, I've never flashed custom roms. Only once an XT1052 stock rom to have italian as language, but since it had a bad radio behaviour I went back to XT1053 stock rom. I've had root but not for long. I have tried also to re-lock the bootloader, but I was never successful since (FAIL: Please run fastboot oem lock begin first!)
With the 5.1 OTA, now I have the right build but with VZW written at the end. In the boot animation, I have the Verizon logo. Thanks to Mark of Motorola Forum Manager, I've had the stock XT1053 5.1 DE software to flash through fastboot, but even if the procedure is successful I cannot get rid of the VERIZON thing. I would like to use RSD Lite but I can't since it doesn't recognize the phone as connected, even if Motorola Device Manager does recognize it and the drivers are installed.
How can I do? Is there a way to really clean completely the phone and install the right software more "deeply"?
Any help will be much appreciate.
Thanks,
Luca
I had bought used Moto X XT1049 on e-bay
I use it in Georgia (Caucasus) so, outside US
Story in short:
Phone (XT1049) was working on 4.4.2, flashed it to stock XT1053 Lollipop 5.1 with RTWP, still worked without issues, but got StageFright fix OTA notification, since there was TRWP I couldn't install it with OTA, found guide, followed it, installed new Lollipop, everything was OK, just it was not detecting SIM card, I blame the code from the guide, I might have flashed someto XT1049 hardware incompatible software, tried flashing XT1049 and XT1056 radio/modem from kitkat roms, "No sim card" still persists.
I don't think it is hardware problem, as I hadn't physically touched the sim card in between when it was working and wasn't, it might be that hardware "fried" due to software incompatibility, but I doubt it too, because the SIM card clearly survived if there was any cooking going on , it works in my old phone without problems right now. Tried other sim cards too, none of them detected by this device.
Full Story:
I don't remember exactly what firmware was it running when I got it, because when I turned it on and connected to WiFi OTA popped up and I installed update right away. Update quickly installed 4.4.2, I put sim card of local network and it worked all fine. It was not rooted, not Bootloader unlocked.
Two days later I found out that XT1049 was not getting any further OTA update and I wanted lollipop on my phone, having very little experience, I started searching for ways to manually flash lollipop to my device. As I was unable to find XT1049 lollipop rom (I knew already it didn't exist) and read somewhere that it was possible to flash XT1053 rom on XT1056 and XT1049, decided to give it a try.
So I unlocked the bootloader from moto site, installed TWRP recovery, downloaded XT1053 5.1 Lollipop rom from this thread and flashed it, IRRC (I'm 90% sure) I just flashed it and rebooted, without any of these code:
Code:
......
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
....
So XT1053 Lollipop 5.1 (222.21.15) was installed, everything worked fine, system, calling, wifi etc. The only thing was that I got OTA for StageFright fix. I tried to let OTA install itself but it didn't work, as after update rebooting RTWP was booting, preventing OTA update.
Than I found this thread and fallowed the first guide, under name: "Official Update Procedure", I did everything as was written there, new lollipop update was installed, but when the phone booted it was not detecting sim card, displaying error in the notification bar: "No SIM card - Emergency calls only". After that I tried everything, reflashed XT1053 Lollipop 5.1 (222.21.15), flashed CM12 without luck.
Then I found out it might have been caused by flashing wrong modem (I was following the guide blindly and didn't even know about existence of modem/radio roms then) with this code from the guide:
Code:
mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
So I started searching and flashing modems from XT1049 and XT1056 roms of original 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 images, still without luck. Tried wiping, unrooted, tried 2nd(restore) method from stagefright guide (which if I had used instead of the first one with codes, I think I'd save myself all these troubles) nothing worked. Now I have installed XT1053 Lollipop 5.1 (222.21.15), am still getting Stagefright OTA notification and everything works fine except I can't use the device as the phone, it does not detect sim card at all.
My nearest guess is still around those codes from the Stagefright guide, it should be modem or bootloader or some other files that got flashed by those codes and might have been incompatible with XT1049 hardware.
So is there anyone with any ideas I might try out?
Suggest what can I try to revive the sim please.
At some point I decided to give a try and flash Kitkat images, in hope that they might have worked, but then read lots of warnings about downgrading, so decided not to hurry.
Right now my XT1049 has:
Bootloader - version30.BE
Baseband version - MSM8960PRO_BP_2323.031.111.00R
System Version (XT1053 Lollipop 5.1) - 222.21.15.ghost_row.Retail.en.US ntelos
Additional info:
XT1056 and XT1049 have the same FFC ID, XT1053 has different, but it's the nearest unlocked version with lollipop, that's why people flash XT1053 Lollipop to XT1056/49, as I have written above, I did the same and it worked without issues, until I installed StageFright update.
Thanks for your time and help in advance.

I bricked my G7 Plus and finally got it restored with the wrong firmware image (T-Mobile Revvlry+). It no longer has an IMEI or radio. Fastboot getvar all does return the IMEI correctly and it also reports radio: TMO and ro.carrier: retla.
I would like to get it working again with a stock rom.
Is there one available?
Is there a way to get the radio working and IMEI restore with the T-Mobile rom?
Stock ROMs from Lolinet:
Moto G7plus roms
But you need to find out what folder to pick according to your 1965 model.
Learn about the EFS and how to make a EFS backup, this is essential. It seems to happen often to loose cell network or IMEI with the G7 plus.
My phone is the same and got many problems when i unlocked it and tried to install LineageOS, fortunately they all be solved and now it is ok.
how about the status of your phone now?
black - no display?
slot a/b error?
fall to an old bootloader?

Lineage OS 11242020 build installed. No WiFi, no IMEI (although the IMEI shows in getvar), no service.
first i install the newest version (Lineage OS 20210105), it is no service.
then back to 20201124, now it's ok.
i'm not sure if this problem is caused by LineageOS.
so may be change to another version is a solution.
otherwise, if you have a stock rom, you can reflash the BP/BL and try it again.
below is the Tinyfastboot, it's a useful tool can help you try it.
TinyFastbootScript - mirrors.lolinet.com > software > windows > TinyFastbootScript
Did you have any luck finding the ROM for the XT1965-T (Non-TMo, Moto)?
I have the same model, XT1965-T. In my attempts to flash Lineage (which included hard bricking it and then a bootloop) I did have to flash blankflash (to fix the hard brick) and then later a stock boot.img from the stock TMO ROM from lolinet, but I have not flashed any other parts of the stock TMO ROM.
My fastboot getvar all also identifies the device with radio: TMO and ro.carrier: retla.
From what I can tell, this is the same device that Moto licensed to T-Mobile as the "Revvelry+" and now Moto is selling it without a carrier lock. So it would not surprise me if some T-Mo remnants were there...
Would be interested to hear from someone who has a fresh unmodified device what their fastboot getvar output says.
For this phone, unlock and flash TMO rom didnot change the info of " radio: TMO and ro.carrier: retla. ", It was these at the beginning .
use twrp to make a nandroid backup especially the persist partition and do not wipe the persist partition that's were your imei is stored
PROBLEM SOLVED. See my post.

My main phone its a g8 plus but I bought this "T" unlocked version from amazon to my wife. She wants YT Vanced with her google acc so I decide to root this phone.
Fortunately I been use my G8+ for while until I brick and unbrick this... Then I learn what can and cannot do with this motorola phones. The first reason for do not touch the stock firmware in this phone its because Lenovo rescue software reconize this G7+ like XT1965-3 version, not XT1965-T version. I tried "rescue" with this (XT1965-3) firmware on the Lenovo software and do not work. So if you bricked it, its probably sure that software do not work.
(I tryed this before unlock bootloader)
The second warning its after you unlock the bootloader, if you proceed to install TWRP and choose flash the main partition your done. I guess this phones still recive security patchs (the last one was feb 21) So, even if your do not root but flash TWRP into the main partition you can not be able to "update" your phone again.
(What I do was temporally flash TWRP from cmd to install magisk).
This phone its a "master piece" very useful and cheaper but this version could be a pain in the As*. I still figured out how to get back into android 9 becuase this brought android 10 outted box. I guess we can got a little more battery with this version... So any suggestion are welcome : )
Just picked this phone up at best buy (119 new) and unlocked bootloader, and installed pixel exp rom and so far no problems( haven't tried rooting yet but will)

I saw a guy with a moto XT1965-2 device flashing android 9 stock rom in this video. But I'm a little afraid to do that because this its a single sim device.
Expert here, please help. I have moto g7 plus i got from Motorola directly as replacement variant (XT1965-T) but its going on boot loop. I tried to use Moto recover tool but it does read phone to do rom install. I tried manual also still not working. I tried to do install myself rom by using info and rom from another forum (https://motostockrom.com/motorola-moto-g7-plus-xt1965-t) but it fails to write using flasfile.bat. even though it says usb connected. in recovery mode it also shows OEM locked. is that's the reason ? I just want this phone to work with standard rom of it suppose to work as i got it unlocked version. Please help.
