Samsung galaxy nexus or Samsung galaxy s2

I know this is the samsung galaxy s2 section. But if you were offered a samsung galaxy nexus for your samsung galaxy s2 would you make the switch?
If no please explain
If yes please explain
Thanks
You will get bigger display and better updates. Depends on how long you got your s2, if you feel bored its not bad switch. Personally i would switch it.
Have a nice day!

Thanks for your input. But not having 8mega pixel, downgrade video quality, not having a expansion memory slot still tempting to switch?
I wouldn't switch... Like having an expansion card. Only positive of nexus over s2 is longer and faster updates of roms.

Personally, i like the design and i feel 32GB is enough memory. For the camera, you are right. Its just up to you, do you take pictures and videos often or no? You know the best for you here.
Obviously nexus have style, bigger display and higher pixel density, it's the google way.
But if you take in to consideration that:
- the usable screen it's almost the same becouse of the navigation bar in nexus case
- SGS2 has the better screen even at such lower res becouse Nexus use PenTile Matrix technology which it's a major downgrade (some colors have to be approximated by using adjacent pixels, and can cause colors that don’t read as true)
- you get 5MP insted of 8MP and you also pay more
- in SGS2 case you will get more fps in games and in User Interface becouse nexus gpu will have to process more information (720 x 1280 vs 480 x 800 in same amount of time; bouth gpu are similar at the same resolution), you must conclude that nexus looks nice and I9100 performe better.
For me performance, user experiece and image quality it's everything so I would take i9100.

Very good statement, i have to agree with alot of that. however, you forgot to mention Samsung nexus NFC chip, panoramic camera, face unlock and android beam. They are new features that makes me love my galaxy nexus, not to mention if your into a curve design, its pretty sleek.
for me it was really tough, i went with the nexus although, i wish had a better camera, but 5 mega pixel on nexus is surprisingly not that bad, of course the galaxy s2 camera is better.

It's also mention in that articol something about having android beam (althougth i do not know what that meens)
I don't have an s2 to compare GPS signal
I have to agree with you, if you are a person who love stylish things Nexus it's a good looking beast, in daily use you would not notice a big diffrence in performance (I didn't know that you had already bought nexus)
Sorry for my bad english

[Q] Slow Motion camera mode on Jelly Bean?

Is there a slow motion mode in the camera app in any of the JB roms, leaked official/custom? Is there any possibility that it will be present in the final version? Coming from a (now defunct) Dell Streak 5, I was pretty much determined to get the Note 1, because the low price nowadays and JB update (plus the added note 2 features) offset the Note 2's hardware advantages as far as I was concerned, but after recently seeing some slow motion videos taken with the Note 2, I just have to have that option.
Bump? Nobody opened the camera on the leaked JB ROMs to see if there's a slow motion mode?
i checked it but i don't see it anywhere in camera settings
Thanks! So the Note 2 it is, then
offcourse... loads of new features... but the sad part, galaxy s4 will launch with even more features :banghead:

[Q] Support for this phone...?

Stats wise this looks like a bang for the buck. I am considering buying this phone. I wanted to know whether the Chipset this phone has will continue to get support. Also wanted to know whether this phone can play Full HD videos. Other than that can this phone play HD Games? Is there any hope that this phone will get further version upgrades? Is it possible to install JellyBean oficially without having to root?
Thanks a lot!

There is a rumor that it will get 4.2, and stops there. We have official JB, no need to root. There is some lag on full HD, but do you need full HD on 4" screen really? I am not game player, about games you will need to wait for somebody else to answer you.

This phone is pretty good, but not good enough if compared with the more recent ones.. I mean if you want more Battery Life, Gaming Performance and more (future) Official updates or Dev support then you can opt for better, more popular Mid-Range phones (according to your budget)...
But still this phone is pretty good, better than Galaxy R and closely related to the all famous S2!
And yes two more things:
- I never tried playing 1080p videos, so I don't know whether it will work or not.. but I have a lot of 720p videos (and movies) - and they all have lag free playback on the stock video player... The only 720p video that lags for me is the default Samsung Sample Video :silly:
- You can play most of the games on this phones, but most high end games or too resource demanding 3D games won't play well on Highest settings...
I was an iPhone user before and this is my first Android phone.. but yeah this is still a pretty good phone, but there are better phones (maybe at same cost)..
Take a look at this thread too.. I gave my review on S3 Mini vs SGSA on that thread...

Some of those points are really foolish sorry...For example, the HSDPA speed is the same and it doesn't have HSPA+...our phone supports microSDHC too(someone tried microSDXC and it worked too...weird)...the original s3 mini hasn't NFC,there is a I8190N version with that.
Also,I don't think it will get Key Lime Pie if the Note,S2 and ours will not get it just because it is newer.Remember the S plus case(gigngerbread as the original S)
Not trying to flame, just correcting you.
In conclusion if solid multitasking isn't your thing,at my opinion S advance makes it because it has better front camera and an ambient light sensor. Also I like the design more...because it's smaller S3 mini doesn't look as good the S3.I saw them both.
You can't play 1080p videos with the stock video player. At heavy games the single core Mali says its word.
If you want a better phone just buy the S2.Better screen, ram and processor. Also the developement support is waay greater because of a biiiig user base.In my country, the difference is just like 25 euros.
I might switch to the S2 too...

well yeah of course, you're right... even I hate the shape both S3 and S3 mini has.. in my opinion, S2 and our phone has a better and solid look and feel...

Thanks a lot for your input guys! :good: I am considering some other phones like Galaxy Note N-7000 and Sony Xperia L.
The last thing I wanna know is whether the sound output is actually low as some reviewers are saying.
Thanks again!

Here to keep my tablet alive

Hello to all.
I mostly use the site to keep my old Samsung galaxy note 10.1 sm-p600 alive. It was sad seeing apps not being supported on it anymore, so it's fantastic out can be revived up to android 7. Just yesterday I found out someone managed to make a rom for android 10, so I'm quite happy with the site.
