I have some important messages on my SIM card and I am using a Nexus 6 device. Can anyone please tell me the procedure to copy those messages from the SIM card to phone?
Thanks & Regards,
Jeet Chowdhury
Since your 68 viewers haven't suggested anything...
You could try Carbonite's SMS Backup & Restore. I don't know if it will suit your purpose, but it's worth a try. There is also an add-on which automatically backs up to Google Drive and Dropbox. It worked perfectly for me, though I now don't use it because I have no texts that I want to keep.

Does anyone know of a way to read sms messges that are stored on sim card and also maybe write new messages onto sim?
I'm using a program called SIM messaging, it works.

Use this link.
Thanks for that. while brousing buzzev.net i also found an o2 sms manager this looks like it uses the sim card instead of the phone. this might also be useful
Hi everyone!
New to PDA phones! Im having trouble with adding contacts to my TyTN II, once added they don't show up in the contact list. It shows them in SIM manager and if i copy them to contacts from there they still dont show up! Also is there any way i can copy the contacts from my old N73 onto the TyTN II to save me hours of time???
Cheers guys!
Ok, so i have just bluetoothed all my contacts from the N73 to the TyTN II and saved them to my contact list but they still dont show up in the contacts!!! When i try to send the same contact again it asks to overwrite the contact already saved, same when i try to create a new one!! Its doing my head in!! Any ideas anyone?
sim
you need to go to your contacts in your sim and select all and then copy to contacts. that should help i think well thats what i did and all show up ok what rom are you using ie the origonal or have you flashed your rom with one like duty or alex ? as thire are a couple of cap files to fix bugs depending on which rom you use. i hope this helps as i know you have said you did that all ready.
I bluetoothed all the contacts straight to the phone, they are all there to copy to sim and when people call me it shows who is calling but when i go into the contacts list its blank. I have copied them to the sim card (they all show up in sim manager) and tried copying them back! No luck
I am running the original ROM
sim
sorry i cant help i know thire is an option to choose to use either sim for contacts or the phones contacts. but not sure where it is i think it might be in system then phone but dont take my word for it hope fully m8 some one on here who is more advanced than me might help you out. good luck
Cheers anyway buddy! I have had to put it down for now before i throw it on the floor! You cant get something good with no teething problems.

Not sure how to copy messages to the sim card, but those cards don't hold many messages anyway. Why don't you back up your messages to the computer, much easier and bigger storage. I think Jeyo Mobile Companion lets you do that from memory.
I don't think there is a way to save ur sms back into ur sim but there is a way to backup ur sms's on a regular basis using PIMBackup if u search this forum u'll get the file as it is quite popular....
Hi all
Got my topaz phone just yesterday, it is magnificent!
But I am upgrading from a Eten X500+ phone, after I tried to restore messages from my old phone to the new one, the new one now cannot record any new sent messages.
In my opinion, this can be the backup program... I used spb backup. I may doing something with the file attributes in order to make it record sent messages again. But which file?
My x500+ is already dead so I have no way going back and do the backup again, unfortunately
Please advice
Thanks
Unfortunately it looks like SPB Backup might be the problem. The eten was Windows Mobile 5 I believe? And the Diamond 2 is 6.1, so there may have been differences between folder locations / formats between the two. My understanding is that SPB Backup makes an exact copy of the database from the old phone and dumps it on the new phone. Perhaps thats where the problem lies.
I routinely use PIM Backup to save and restore text messages from one phone to another, or in the case of flashing a new ROM. I'd recommend using it in future as it extracts the individual messages in their particular folders and transplants them perfectly in the new phone. For now I think you'll just have to abandon the sent messages.
thanks for your reply.
another question, my phone showed only one of maybe 10 messages on the SIM card. Those messages where copied from my temporary cell phone last week and i would love to see my TD2 showing them. Any ideas?
try to sync your messages, contacts etc.. with microsoft's myphone. It worked fine for me
I am still new to this stuff but is there any way to recover deleted text messages without buying a SIM card reader? I am not even sure if my phone stores the messages on the SIM card or on the phone itself. It is stock except that I rooted it.
Text messages are stored in internal memory, in a database:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
I do not believe there would be any way to recover deleted texts. Use SMS Backup + to backup and store future text messages to your gmail account.
