So, I just installed the unit in my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland to replace the horrible UConnect 730n RER. I was messing around in settings and accidentally changed the rear camera on setting to ground and now I can't reset it or even get into settings or any other screen. It powers on and goes directly to rear view mode. I've done all the trouble shooting, unplugged for 48 hours even. Pushed the reset button, etc, nothing works. I don't even get the screen to select a language on startup.
Pioneer has yet to return calls/emails for support going on 2 days. Audio shops in the area are clueless...
The only piece of advice I've found on Google is to touch the green camera wire to a 12v source to temporarily disable the screen and reset it, but before I go and fry this thing, I'd like some advice, lol.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: So here's what I did, and I will add a picture of the wire in a minute from my phone just to make it clear.
I figured out a solution for anyone looking:
-disconnect the "purple/white" aka "violet/white" (if you left the labels on, it's the one that says "reverse gear signal input) from where you tied/taped or soldered it.
-leave disconnected
-connect the harness to your vehicle
-connect the harness to your radio
-turn on accessory power or start your car
-hold the "mute" button until the radio takes you to the main screen or language selection screen
-change setting back to "battery" from "ground"
-go back to the manual and setup your camera properly!

Today I've been trying to update my Trinity's Radio ROM to v1.50 or v1.56 and my phone doesn't seem to be accepting ROM upgrades anymore?!
When I try to flash the ROM, my phone's screen goes into the bootloader (the red, green and blue screen.. correct?) and I hear my PC make the USB device disonnected sound and then it reconnects, making the reconnection sound and it says "USB" in the white part at the bottom of the phone's coloured display.
So I get this screen but it gets stuck on 0%:

}
Then after about 30 seconds this comes up:
My phone stays in bootloader mode until I turn it off then back on again (soft reset).
The phone turns back on and I can use it like normal.. but it is still the old ROM obviously because it didn't update.
I've upgraded the ROM many times before.. so why would ROM upgrading suddenly not work anymore?
Suggestions anyone?
Before you get techy!!
Hi there - I had the same problem this eve - reflashed tonnes of time sno worries then all of a sudden nothing.
Before, like me you scour the forum for the techy solution (reinstall activesync, muck with SPL, copy things to SD card) go dig out some USB cables.
I've found that it was a dodgy cable that works for everything else.
So if you get this error and your white strip in bootloader says serial - go get another USB cable first!!!!
Cheers
Hi
I don't know if people realise this but you can modify a generic car charger to automaticlly activate the Navi Panel mode so you don't need to buy the SU400 kit.
You will need a car charger that is capable of suppying 1 amp, to enable fast charging. ( Use an app called Spoon Charge to check) or disassemble the USB Micro A plug and ensure Data- and Data + are soldered together. DO NOT solder Data - and Data + togehter if not already done so this means the device is not capable of supplying 1amp.
If so you should have a unused pin ( this is called the ID pin) solder this along with Data + and Data - to OV.
When the charger is connected it will launch Navi Panle if enabled and turn on bluetooth and pair to a set device.
I will take a pic of the modded plug and post it up. In theory I would assume the same mechanism is used on more than this device.

OMG LEGEND bro. lol. Finally someone figured out HOW to do this so you don't have to buy that overpriced HD2 carkit. Thanks. Mod's this should be a sticky.
mods seriously this should be front page news
Are you sure, that this will work? Did you tried it yourself? Cause my CU-S400 is also activaiting the Navipanel even if i don't have plugged in the Charger! So I think that it hasn't anything to do with the mAh-size of the charging unit....
You're right.

Source.
Every once in a while, I see a tiny steering wheel pop up in the upper left
of the taskbar. At time, it also appears that the dock mode screen will pop up.
I've frozen out the talk apps, voice talk app. Once in a while it will still flash on
the task bar. If you run task manager, there are no talk/voice apps running.
The only thing done to this Note is root. 2.3.6 KL7
Strange...any ideas?
I'll usually shut it down, take out the battery for a few minutes and it's gone.
My phone stays on 24/7, and it usually pops up about a week or two after
booting.

You've not got the driving mode option ticked in text to speech settings have you? (see attached pic)

Nope, here's how it is set up.
If I keep the talk apps frozen, even though they were not running, it appears to stay
fixed. When I flashed just after I got the phone, I probably should have done a clear/reset,
but didn't. It appears a newer rom will be available soon (I prefer the stock roms for now).
When that happens, I'll blow everything out and start fresh, see if it is a glitch in the talk
app, after it was flashed last month.
Stop double tapping the home button

Not double tapping...just sitting on the desk it might do it.
I just looked at my phone under a bright light, noticed the home button had
a little shine to it. Took an Xacto knife to the edge and guess what....
I didn't realize that had a bit of protective plastic over the #*%$&@ home button.
I just wonder if that plastic was keeping the button depressed at times?
So my girlfriend also has an HTC M8 but from Verizon. She left it on the roof of her car while going to get gas before going for a long drive. at the gas station she noticed she did not have her phone and remembered she had put it on the roof of her car. we drive back and forth with no luck so she started to walk (1 mile total to station) (Took her 30 min to find it).
Apparently it lasted 3 turns and fell off the 4th turn that is a 50MPH Road. (it had a $5 plastic case on it from ebay)
We found the phone in the grass between the sidewalk and the curb.
From the looks of it it fell off of her car and got ran over by another car/truck that made the phone fly into the grass.
The phone's screen is completely cracked!!
Here are some pictures:

Screen On
Side
We got the phone home and could see minor colors on the screen, Sliding to the right gave me a green screen (Blink Feed)
So the Touch Part of the screen works perfectly!!!, I plugged in my MHL adapter and found out why we could not access the phone, the SIM card had be dislodged.
I took it out and put it back in and phone works at 100% with the exception of the screen showing just minor colors.
I am impressed!! I would have though a car/truck driving 50+MPH would have done more damage to it.
Wow... Tough phone for sure.
Here we go guys! the moment youve all been waiting for!

Looking good, is there a big difference between using dac and headphones out ? I'm doing the same thing for my car but with main functionality sat nav and reverse camera (easycap + analog camera)
And in the dark
I haven't played any music through it, just sound effects to make sure it works
Will test and compare
