Hi all , I have the tab s2 813 model , I keep getting the notification of " connected to WiFi " on the screen whilst watching streams on my tablet then it cuts the stream off and I have to reconnect , its like it's dropped wifi and reconnected , anyone else have this problem , many thanks .
I have a 8 inch variant with marshmallow amd particular in airplane mode the wifi connection is flickering like you described. In radio mode the wifi is stable. Model no is SM-T719
When you say Radio mode do you mean just wifi

I mean the opposite to airplane mode, you know like normal phone mode (LTE /4G).
Ah right , mines wifi version only , I've actually got it on air plane mode now so I'll see how it goes , thanks
Currently no big issues anymore. Looks like Wifi on airplane far more stable. Dont know why..
Same with me , turned off air plane mode and got " connected to WiFi " notification flashing up regularly , put back in air plane mode and seems way better , weird eh
Thanks for the heads up about putting it in air plane mode , didn't even think about doing that , cheers , you're a star
Keep your hands out of the SM-T719 Galaxy tab S2 variant.
I bought one for Christmas, 2 days later I replace it in the store, and then I replaced it again by a third one. BUT... the third one is no better.
All start in the setting up phase, for the first time, since the device has difficulties to connect to google and Samsung servers. Then comes the first firmware update where the download process stops without reason countless times. I have to turn WiFi off and on to be able to proceed. Finally using Playstore and mainly the "Galaxy Apps" application I get too many errors about java.net.... address unreached, no route, server fail, no internet connection make sure WiFi or cellular data is on.
The problem seems not to be in the WiFi losing connection, the WiFi is always at maximum or medium, but somehow the internet access is lost, and when lost is not recoverable by the app, unless I completely close the app, turn WiFi off and on... sometimes I need also to restart the device. Unacceptable behavior.
Now, by Samsung advice, I'm going to leave it in a Samsung repair center, and since I'm not convinced that they will solve the problem at all, because the problem is random and even if they change the board the problem is in the guts/design or whatever... of the device, I'm going to return it to the store and get the money back.
Since i put mine in airplane mode the wi-fi notifications have stopped and never had any other issues with it , mines an sm-t813 , think it's just that it's the 9.7 rather than 8 inch

I have the same issue with my two SM-T813.
The wifi keep disconnecting and reconnecting randomly on 2.4ghz wifi connection. When this happen, a toast notification appears saying you're connected on your wifi. This happen to me on every router i'v tried with many firmwares.
No issue on 5ghz, see this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3414419
Wow , thanks for the link , i couldn't find that link when i first posted , mines been fine with airplane mode on , no drop outs or " WiFi connected " notifications so I'll leave it alone unless Samsung update it but can't see it happening tbh

OK, but that behavior of your device is unacceptable... having to keep your device forever in airplane mode....
As far as I can tell about mine SM-T719, WiFi is never lost, there is NO notifications about the the system loosing WiFi or reconnect to WiFi, and I can see that WiFi is always on maximum. However, the internet access drops randomly and the application accessing internet cannot recovery from it without turn WiFi off and on again. But the WiFi signal keeps on and well during the occurrence. How odd is that?
My WiFi signal was always showing strong but when watching a stream on my tablet the notification would pop up and the stream would go off then I'd have to reconnect
Wifi dropout

I have a new tab S2 SM-T713. I've had it for about a month now and when I'm downloading apps the Wi-Fi drops to zero and won't pick back up without restarting the Wi-Fi. Does it constantly no matter what network I'm on. At first it started with the Wi-Fi switch not staying on so I flashed a permissive kernel and that gave me the Wi-Fi but it has done that ever since no matter which kernel I use or which ROM I use even stock ROM.
Try putting it in airplane mode and turn WiFi back on , see if that helps

Have you guys have the same problem?tryed all the radios on the market..they stream perfectly on wifi ,but when i lock the screen it just stops streaming. If i turn the screen back starts as normal.Any idea how to get over this?
No problem for me with lastFM.
This should work ... but it doesn't
Just in case you haven't tried - in the settings menu, Wireless and Networks, Wi-Fi settings, then press menu again and find 'Advanced'. Here lives 'Wi Fi sleep policy'. It looks promising, the obvious move is to set this to 'Never'.
But it doesn't solve the problem. Like you I'm finding that it is a problem with all radio streamers, some worse than others. If I turn wireless off and use 3G its fine.
Thanks for posting the issue. I thought I was the only one.
No problems with TuneWiki over WiFi and 3G...
i find that even if you set the wifi never to sleep it still does. i frequently use aftp to transfer movies and stuff to my phone over my lan, so ill set it to transfer like 3 gigs of stuff and go to bed, even though its set never to sleep the socket still gets closed at some point at night. so id say your problem lies with wifi sleeping.
also some online radios stop automatically after a certain amount of time incase you arent listening anymore to save bandwithd
Maybe its in the app settings. You didnt specify which app it was also...
This might help
When you connect Wi-Fi make sure to turn off your cellular network. N1 has this weird problem where in as soon as screen is off, it drops the wi-fi connection and goes on to cellular network.
So if you switch off ur cellular network it maintains its Wi-Fi connection even when the screen is off.

i use mainly "AOnline radio" but i have tryed pretty much all from the market and all do the same. trying with the settings now..post if any change.
edit:yea still stops...strange try with gsm off and still same thing...is it there any solution to get over this thing?i just liten now with the screen on) eats the battery..it's ok but why not better?
The Nexus one activates some kind of energy saving mode as soon as you turn off the screen. This makes the WiFi connection very laggy, though stable for me. This is independent of the WiFi sleep policy. There's a bug report because of this for Sipdroid and I've also seen this issue while being connected to the phone via SSH. The connection is just fine as long as the screen is on, but if it's off, there's about 1 second delay.
However, I never had the problem you describe. Droidlive, for example, works just fine.

i will check droidlive myself right now...thank you for explinations..is there a way to talk with cyan and maybe he could overpass that wifi sleepy thing.
edit: also noticed if you ahve a download or something and turn the screen off goes very slow..so this problem i think really have a priority to be solved.
edit2:still stops...what would be the thing?wifi priority changed.do you have any type of settings?full app?
I'm listening to a ShoutCast stream with AOnline right now, using WiFi, screen is off. Works perfectly. Do you see this problem with other access points, too?
SLightworkaround....
If you can keep it plugged in...set the SCREEEN TO NEVER SLEEP...under settings>>>applications>>>DEVELOPMENT>>>STAY AWAKE... hope that helps!

This is the problem yes... Just try to ping your N1 while turning the screen off/on... Ping jumps up as soon as the screen is turned off...
For me Streams stop when I have a weak signal to begin with, which does not get better when turning the screen off
"KeepScreen" might help...

What is the rom that you use? Did you do clean flash? Did you flash any kernel? Did you try to forget the network and reconnect again? More information is needed.

i'm using the stock ROM but i did unlock and root. i am using a asus RT-N56U with WPA2 personal AES encryption for security. Phone set for best wifi performance, wi-fi band on auto, keep wi-fi on during sleep.
I can connect and it will work usually especially if i turn off wifi then turn it back on. However, the problem exists that the length of time the connection will remain with the ability for loading webpages/video is unknown. It could be 2-5 minutes, but i've also tested it and its been able to hold a connection while constantly streaming a netflix movie.
I'm wondering if it could be resolved by setting my phone to connect to my home network via a static ip? seen things related to that elsewhere. It is very annoying and troublesome to have to constantly turn on/off the wifi when im sitting in the same place. I could be reading a webpage then click a link on it and then it will fail to load even though showing i am connected. Then i have to switch on and off. This has happened plenty of times within 30 minutes i've had to turn it on and off 3-4 times. To me that is not "functional".
is it something with my phone or router? or both?

you definitely shouldnt have to connect with a static. it may help but what about when u r in public do you still have the problem?? if not then maybe u should try a new home networking device or play around with the security setting on ur router.
my wifi seems to work fine other than my speedtest results are only 3mbps up. i should be getting as much as 55, i used to get up to 40 on my gs3. i am totally stock, with the same settings.

Do you have sleep mode turned on, in settings, power? Or power saver?

Maybe try unplugging both your modem and router for 10 seconds and then plug them back in.

Hello everyone! I just got my G watch R and unpacked it. The first thing I wanted to try is to update the system. But it wouldn't let me do that. Keeps saying that there's an error without even trying. I have done some research on the network and I have found that this doesn't work with wi-fi turned on. I have turned it off but I have a really slow 2G connection with speed at about 10 KB/s. I will let it download for the night but it doesn't look like solving the issue. Besides that apps and watch faces that I install don't sync with my phone with wi-fi turned on or off. My phone is Xiaomi Mi3W and the firmware is MIUI 4.4 (developer rom)
Wi-Fi is not enable in the watch. But should work find with Wi-Fi turned on the phone. The watch uses Bluetooth to connect to the phone.
Apparently there is Wi-Fi connection support in the next update. But we shall see.
But like I said as long as your watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth , having Wi-Fi on/off shouldn't matter.

I have seen other topics about watch disconnecting. And the problem was Wi-Fi being turned on. And for me that worked. The Watch didn't update via Wi-Fi but it does update via 2G. But the apps still won't sync. Any ideas on that?
Have you tried to manually sync yet?
Hi, I'm new here so forgive me if I do something wrong^^
First of all, I have a Moto G 2014, Dual Sim which is running on 5.1.1, to be more specific, this ROM. I was using this ROM for about 4 months already so that shouldn't be the issue. My problem is that after my phone connects to the internet, usually using H+. The connection to the internet is working perfectly fine, but after a while of not using the phone it loses the connection. It still tells me that it got a strong H+ connection, but nothing (browser, apps, anything) is able to connect to the internet. Enabling & disabling airplane mode usually fixes the problem. From time to time it also happens, usually when I lost some sort of wifi connection (regardless if I disabled wifi or I got out of range) it happens that it shows full connectivity but with an exclamation mark. This only goes away if I reboot or enable & disable airplane mode again.
Is this issue known/is there any solution to
I have been experiencing the exact same thing as of lately. I thought it was a byproduct of downgrading from (Stock) Marshmallow to (Stock) Lollipop (yes! it's happening even on stock ROM) where at times the WiFi losses connectivity when the phone had been sleeping for awhile...even though I have the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option on under WiFi's advanced settings. I had no idea that it also happens with data connections ! ...as I don't use it (too expensive for me), now I'm uncertain what could be the cause. I can see how this would be an inconvenience if you use a lot of social media apps as I sometimes do not get my WhatsApp messages when this happens and sometimes I don't even receive my Hangouts messages until I open the app manually.
It's strange, at times when my phone sleeps for awhile and it losses connectivity and I wake it, it will reconnect just fine and other times it just goes into this state where it reconnects with full signal strength but with an exclamation mark next to the WiFi icon in the notification bar. When this happens, no matter what I try it stays in this state, I tried turning off WiFi and turning it back on, also forgetting the network and entering the info and reconnecting to it but none of that works. I didn't know that turning on and off airplane mode can help....I'll have to try that one, rebooting the phone was the only solution I found which is just inconvenient and somewhat annoying.
I too, am interested in a proper solution. I don't know why the phone ignores the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option or why at times it connects but have not internet access! It should be noted that it's not a problem with the network, It's not due to an incorrect password or anything like that as I am the one that administers those things and when it happens other WiFi devices such as my Tablet PC, Laptop etc can connect and access the internet just fine and it only happens sometimes on the phone (Moto G 2014). This doesn't seem to happen in Marshmallow...but I hate Marshmallow and I can't remember having this issue on Lollipop post Marshmallow update (how I wish I had never tried out Marshmallow!!!), which is why I thought it was related to downgrading, .......did you downgrade ?
Hay guys,
I am really at a loss, so I hope you can help me here.
WiFi on my phone works totally fine until I install the EMUI Update 10.0.0.185 (and later).
From that point on, I can't use my WiFi at all. The Phone is still showing me a list of all the available Networks, but If I want to connect to one of these, the phone's WiFi turns off by itself. Just du turn itself on again a few seconds later... and turning off again eventually.
This happens to all of the WiFi networks, I've tried. Also I can't setup a WiFi hotspot anymore or use wireless display feature.
If I reset my phone to the EMUI-Version it came with, everything works flawless.
Any idea, what could cause the problem?
