tasked marshmallow issues, non-rooted device - Tasker Tips & Tricks

Hi there,
I'm having the well documented issues with my profiles not firing until my screen is on and unlocked.
Device = wileyfox swift
OS = Cyanogen OS (Not Mod) 13
Tasker version = 4.8u5m
I have the app white listed for Doze, reliable alarms on and the workarounds ticked (as per link below) but it still won't work with the screen off.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

[Guide] Fix for blue screen tint

In my opinion, the screen on the Moto G4 Play is pretty decent for a budget device -- aside from the bluish/cool hue of the color reproduction. This is due to the white point of the display being set to 8653K, far from the ideal of 6500K (Velasco, 2016). It could possibly be fixed with a software-based recalibration from Moto/Lenovo (I'm not holding my breath), but there are a couple of things that we can do to make it a little better.
If you are using CyanogenMod you have the ability to adjust the colors under display settings to take some of the blue and green out. This is probably the easiest method.
If you are running a stock ROM the options are more limited, especially for anybody with a variant that does not support unlocking the bootloader and rooting. You might be out of luck. The following steps are for anybody running the stock ROM with root. If you have not rooted or modified your phone yet please read the warnings on the respective threads.
1. The Kernel
You will need a custom kernel that supports color correction, specifically what you want to look for is KCAL MDP5 color control. The squid2 kernel supports this feature, and there may be others as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4-play/development/kernel-squid-kernel-moto-g4-play-t3496641 Remember to make a nandroid backup of your boot partition before installing any kernel or superuser software.
2. The Apps
As far as I know you need root access to use any of the software that allows you to do color correction. To install SuperSu it currently needs to be told to use systemless root on our phone. This can be forced by creating a hidden file called .supersu in /data with contents "SYSTEMLESS=true" (SuperSU Beta, 2016). You can do this in TWRP / Advanced / Terminal by entering the command "echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu" There is also a flashable zip here in the forums that can do this. Just flash the SuperSU installer after this. There are many programs that can make the actual color corrections. An easy to use one is available from xda developer savoca here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/dev-kcal-advanced-color-control-t3032080 Kernel Adiutor available on the Play Store can also be used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en
3. The Settings
In Settings / Display / Color Mode I set the color profile to Standard. In the Color Control app from savoca I left all settings at their default values except for setting green to 248 and blue to 237. This results in a more natural white point in my opinion. If anybody else finds settings that work well please share them in this thread.

If using LiveDisplay change the day color temperature to 5800k, otherwise in color correction set R, G, B to 100, 98, and 90.

Moto display doesn't work: suggestions?

Hello,
as the title, I'm not able to see notifications using the Moto Display feature.
Even if the function is activated, no apps are excluded, the function is set to work in every hour and it is set to show all contents of various notification, I can't see.
I changed the screen of the phone (screen + digitizer) with a non original one: (sorry for the - maybe - silly question) could it be this the reason?

Android Auto Big Problem with Radio Screen Connection :(

Welcome,
I'm using AA many years with my cars.
Actually i have Skoda Superb 2021 with Amundsen (wireless ready).
After last AA 6.46 update and maybe new Magisk, screen on radio stay black and after a few minutes i see "triangle with an exclamation"
In this case (AA Updates) I always reverse settings in "AA-AIO-TWEAKER 4.0.2" and uninstall "Extrass for AA (dimension menu and one button).
I use "Fermata Auto" and "Screen2Auto" (uninstall too).
This time it doesn't help (black screen with triangle).
I change AA to default settings, configure again with no custom apps, one step was on a radio screen but after the same problem with triangle.
I uninstall AA, try older version but every time the black screen with triangle on radio.
What's happen that even normal AA didn't work?
I used Galaxy S7 with root.
On my second no root Samsung S9 connection with radio works perfectly.
Magis v23 is the reason or what?
I used AA everyday (~200km a day)
Ok. Nobody help I found the reason: Magisk v23.
After uninstall AA goes back.
Android Auto is working but only before root by magisk 22.1 or 23. After patching by AA AIO Tweaker (Fermata, screen2 auto) and change navbar by Extras for AA black screen with triangle is coming. All apps are in newest versions. It looks that AA v.6.4 blocks all 3rd party apps. I try patch AA Extras using Non Root Substratum Lite and Synergy *payied version but is not working (changing navbar dimension and one button left).
Could anyone tell me that AA v.6.4 working in his car?

Themes / Apps / Mods Notification LED workaround with Always on Display

Hi Friends,
Notification LED has always been a must have for me, since it allows a very quick / non intrusive / non disturbing / ... way to be notified.
But this kind of feature has became very rare, and actually almost absent from 99% of the recent phones.
The main workarounds around there are leveraging AMOLED, by displaying a kind of LED (icon, point, notch circle, ...) above the lockscreen.
This is very nice, but has major caveats : the phone is never allowed to go into deep sleep, leading to huge battery drain.
I've tested plenty of these, and they are all logically plagued with that very drawback.
Using AoD could be a solution, since native AoD is hardware optimized and doesn't cause huge battery drain.
But there is another drawback, at least on my Realme 8 with UI 11 : AoD displays at least the clock, and is always moving to prevent screen burn.
This is cool, but render very difficult to quickly see if there is any notification pending ...
So the best solution would be to only activate AoD when there is a pending notification.
There is many tuto available here and there to do that with any task automation app, but all are pointing "System.aod_mode" setting.
If you have tested this solution, you should have seen that this setting does nothing on Realme phones (at least 8).
After some digging, I've found the correct setting : Secure.Setting_AodSwitchEnable (1 = ON / 0 = OFF)
You may have to make some tweaking to grant your app the right permissions to write it, but it eventually works.
Is not there any free app that do that? mimics an blinking LED with some notification arrives?
that is very usefull even if we have the "allways on" option enabled..
Best Regards,
LPC

Question Missing "Dim Screen" feature of Android 12 in MIUI 13

Hi everyone,
Android 12 introduced a feature called "Dim Screen" which allows you to further reduce your brightness than lowest possible on brightness slider, but it is missing from MIUI 13.0.4.0 Global Update for RN10 plus. Is there a way to access this feature. I'm asking because apps like Night Screen or Night Owl, which I used to rely on before dont work on Android 12. You cannot interact with UI if any app is "displaying over other apps". I really need much lower brightness at night and its became a hassle.
Anyone knows the solution?
If you're rooted, you can use cf.Lumen on the A12 MIUI ROM. It doesn't seem to have any issues with displaying over other apps, and it's a great app, one of the best of this kind, because it doesn't just put an overlay on the screen, it directly affects color channels.
Without root, I think I remember Twilight causing no issues like that on A12.
I doubt the dimming feature is accessible in MIUI, given that MIUI handles brightness quite differently.

In ancient looks like this:
Same here. On the Xiaomi 12X the extra dim feature is not avaiable. Latest global 13.02
Download the apps called MIUI downloader from Playstore, there was a tab called hid. Features and you will find the extra dim feature there.
Just activate it and it will be shown in control center toggle also
