Ringke Fusion Review - OnePlus 3 Accessories

Hi guys, this is my first review for something then if it's not perfect please don't be rude (and english is not my mother tongue ), however here we go.
I received my early and i was surprised because the expected release date was for 21th August. In the past I had a good experience with Ringke and its Fusion Bumper for the Nexus 5, i also had a little negative thing that i will explain later.
The cover comes with Ringke's classic package (you can see from the photos in the amazon review link) that packs the cover (well of course ) and a DIY paper to give to the cover a personal style. Personally i never used the DIY because i like the clear back that mantains the design of the phone.
The grip of the cover is perfect, is not slippery and you can take the phone in your hand in the best way, i can compare it with the Orzly Fusion and the Orzly Flexicase (also if this one is more a cover a not a bumper).
The Ringke Fusion is thinner than the Orzly Fusion and I feel it similar to the Orzly Flexicase, i think that this is pretty amazing for a bumper that of course offers a better protection respect a simple cover like the Orzly Flexicase. Besides this, the cover fits perfectly the phone and i haven't any sign of dust (the Orzly Flexicase was having this problem). I can't compare the "dust problem" with the Orzly Fusion because i didn't test it enough.
The volume buttons and the power button are perfectly covered and when you use them they aren't hard (and this is something that i noticed in every Ringke product) and the alert slider is accessible and not hard to reach, in this aspect the cover totally beats the Orzly Fusion, in the Orzly Fusion in fact the alert slider is hard to reach and you need "to fight" with the cover to use it .
The cover has the classic tapered lip that allows you to put your phone facing down without touching it, and the same thing is also for the back camera (and this is pretty good for our phone that has a big camera bump).
The unique "negative thing" (that doesn't touch my final thoughts however) is that the cover doesn't have the "dust cap" for the headphones jack or for the type c...however is not a problem for me because on my old Fusion for the Nexus 5 i hadn't this, but i saw that for other smartphones Ringke used it...then probably it would be useful also for OP3.
In the end i'm pretty happy with the cover, now i will wait a bit because the Crystal Clear that I owned for my Nexus 5 suffered with a yellow tint in the TPU part (the back is in hard plastic), until now this problem is not on my Fusion for OP3, in every case there is also a smoke black version that should solve this problem (if it will be also on the Fusion for OnePlus 3).
If you have some questions i'm here...there are also a lot of photos (in the amazon review linked...i will put the photo on the post in the next days) to show the cover (well i don't know if they are good).
I don't use any screen protector on my phone (except for the stock one) and with my old Nexus 5 the Fusion saved my life a lot of times...then in the end i'm pretty happy with Ringke and their covers!
PS Here on OnePlus 3 i tried also Orzly Fusion and Flexicase, i explained yet the differences but if you have some questions you can ask
Thanks for all and sorry for the mistakes

Hi mate...the durability is amazing (i'm still using this cover and it doesn't have any problem) the unique thing that can be bad is that in my clear version the TPU became yellow (not too much like my previous experience) then maybe you can dislike it....i think that the clear version is better for soft gold...but also the black should be fine...i think that you need to find out what is the version that you like better

I can't deny.. It saves my phone a lot of times

Nice review buddy, i actually got the Ringke Fusion Smoke Black two months ago, when i bought my OP3, i prefer the dark borders because the front of the phone is black, so they fit better together
Also, i can confirm that you can use the official oneplus curved tempered glass with this case, because that's what i'm using

The yellow is a problem for the clear color...but honestly things were worse with cover for other phone (the one for my nexus 5 was horrible)...pick the smoke black and you will be sure of no yellow...after some months however mine hasn't any scratches..

LUVVITT® CLEARVIEW HTC One M8 Case Clear View | Scratch-Resistant Hybrid Slim Transparent Case/Cover
$5.95 - Amazon (Less Shipping)
Overall the case is what it is. Fit is good except for the top and bottom lips on the screen side but it's not that bad. There are manufacturing seams on the sides but you can't really feel them. The charging port cutout was a little off but I fixed it with a xacto knife. Before the fix I'd have to move the case a little to get the connector to plug completely in. There is what I'm calling a manufacturing defect on the bottom near the charging port. Not sure if this would be present on all of these cases or it's just on mine. No big deal, I'm not looking to win a beauty contest.
The IR blaster works. I've not notice the "flash flare" some have reported with other clear cases. It say scratch resistant but I've not used it enough to tell it that is true or not. The case feels "grippy" in your hand but not enough to snag in your pocket. The back of the case seems like a little harder material than the sides. It goes on and off easily. There is no cutout for the SIM or SD slots so the case will have to be removed to change those. The volume rocker is completely covered so there is minor protection there. I will report back on scratching and yellowing seen in many of these clear cases
If you are looking for a minimal case for $6 you can't go wrong. I'm just using it at work and when I'm out and about as I like the naked feel of this phone and take it off when I'm at home.
My brother bought a Spigen® clear case. It seems to offer a little more protection at the price of bulk. They are comparable but I prefer this one as it feels a little less bulky. Hope this helps.

ADDED CONTENT:
FYI
Well I've only really used this case for 2 days (first two days back to work after receiving the case) and I just noticed a pretty good scratch on the back of the case. There are also some very small scratches that are hard to see unless you hold it at just the right angle.
I'm not concerned becasue this is why I bought a case. I'm reporting this as the marketing for this case says it's scratch resistant which it is clearly not. I'd expect more than 2 days of use before seeing any significant scratches. Oh well, for $6 I'm happy and it's almost a disposable item if it gets really bad.
Added Content:
Afer a few weeks of use I can say this case is working just fine. I've never had a clear case so I'm not sure how long it takes to discolor but this one is still as clear as the day I put it on. I like to go naked when I'm at home and this case is easy to take off and put back on. The big scratch pictured above is still the only big scratch it has. There are a bunch of small scratches that can only be seen if held at the right angle. So far I am very pleased with this case that I might not even get a Skinomi or other wrap at this time. I have yet to drop my phone with this on (don't hold your breath, I treat this thing like a baby) so Not sure how it would protect if it hit on concrete or another hard surface. I think it would help a little. This case has not scratched the phone and I've not noticed any dirt getting between it and the phone. Whenever I put the case on I use my microfiber cloth to clean the case and the phone before installation.

Looks like a case that resemble the case I got from my m8 box. Looks pretty glossy.

Great review.. I use this one: Ultra 0.5mm Slim Soft TPU Skin Clear new Case Transparent Cover But you need to buy a dozen or so, if you don't like scratches. This case will scratch up pretty bad.
Great review, that thing in the picture you don't know is probably a remnant of a tab gate. When the injection molding/extrusion happens the plastic goes through the gate, then they break it off of the runner when cured.

Have you guys tried the Baseus Ultra Thin Clear TPU Case? Best looks imo, at the expense of less protection

Any Spigen Ultra Hybrid owners? Fitment issues .

Ordered the clear and rose gold colors for my wife and I. Her rose gold fitment is off on the sides as in it fits loose and not snug. My clear initially fit good on the sides but is becoming more and more loose. Also both cases have a small hole defect on bottom right side. Will be contacting Spigen shortly. Any others with these issues?
I also ordered the neo hybrid cases (non-clear) and they seem solid. I just love a clear case tho to show off the gorgeous device. ?
Got the clear one and it fits nice and tight. Is stopped me feeling like the device will slip out my hand any moment and had even speed me performing "micro presses"on the screen with the side of my hand!
Just got the neo hybrid silver and put it on. For some reason it feels much more beastly compared to the ultra hybrid and I am not feeling it that much. Maybe because of the black edges covering the sides VS the see thru edges of the ultra hybrid hmmm. I like the ultra minus the minor issues but one thing is the ultra doesnt seem to have that much drop protection. I just ordered the neo hybrid Crystal case that may be the winner here.

Yes, however I was able to resolve the issues with a little bit of work. I saw someone point this out and I massaged the edges particularly around the buttons a bit more.

And here's tonight after a little bit of work. Overall the case fits snugly and feels sturdy in my hand.
I personally love this series from Spigen. The PC bumper could fit tighter but it's nowhere near enough for me to take it off.
In case anyone didn't realise the difference, Spigen do two ranges of Neo Hybrid. Standard range which has coloured rear/under layer and choice of coloured bumper. The second range titled "Crystal" has a transparent rear/under layer and choice of coloured bumper.
I bought the latter in Gunmetal purely because I prefer transparent cases that show off the phone below.
Have clear hybrid ultra. Pushes the screen protector off. Anyone know of a good protector that won't push off.
I've had my Spigen Ultra Hybrid crystal clear on my S7 Edge since March 5th and the case fits perfectly. I removed the case yesterday for the first time to install my Skinomi screen protector. I put my Spigen case back on this morning and it fits the same way as when I first got it. I bought my case from Amazon.
I'm hoping a screenknight will work with it.
Are the PC frames interchangable betweem the hybrid/hybrid cystal cases?
I bought the cheap Verizon 3 pack screen protectors and so far the edges have not peeled up yet with multiple removal of all these cases per day.
Mines just bleh. The case looks nice aside from the buttons being way too stiff for comfort. I've only used it a handful of times, so I can't vouch for its durability.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA Labs
Got the neo hybrid crystal and unfortunately fitment was very bad. The side buttons are pretty flush and the sides of the PC bumper are loose and raised. Bummer because the crystal hybrid looks awesome.
Looked up the spigen warrenty they offer free replacement but I need to ship items back. Probably $6 or so to ship it back I paid 15 so wonder if it is even worth the hassle to be honest. For those who have defective Spigen cases, are you going through the trouble of returning for warranty exchange?
I too have the Ultra Hybrid clear and it fits just right, it's tight and it doesn't seem to have gotten loose in the first couple days of use. Buttons work alright, makes the phone look pretty good imo. I have a similar Spigen case on my Nexus 5 (got it from day 1 both phone and case) and to this day I still have it and functional, I hope this Spigen case can live up to the rep and trust my last Spigen case gave me.
i bought the clear ultra hybrid also, I find that because of the solid back the edges aren't rounded and even have a sharp edge. This takes away all the comfort built into the phone. Can't wait to trash it and get something that keeps the phone as comfortable to hold as the phone was designed to be. Also the buttons on the cover have sharp edges. Overall fit seems to be fine.

Orzly Fusion Bumper Case for OnePlus 3 Pictures

I received the Fusion Bumper Case today and I gotta say after a days use I am delighted with it, I've got it on with the 2.5D Screen Protector and it works no problem. I actually like this more than the Grip-Pro I got the other day, purely because it allows me to show off my phone whilst keeping it protected! Here are some pictures:

It's definitely thicker,, but not by a huge margin. I actually prefer the feel of the Fusion to the normal TPU Orzly FlexiCase. Here are some pictures for comparison:

The case looks nice. Is the TPU or silicone around the volume buttons stiff or soft? Stiffer material makes it feel like it is more protective.

Will the thick TPU sides of the fusion bumper turn yellow over time? Because it's already hazy and murky in brand new condition. and you can easily notice the difference in clarity between the TPU sides and Polycarbonate back.

Hi, I have a silicon case and my past experience has been that such cases eventually form a yellow tint.
So will that yellow tint be visible on this case as well?
Or are Orzly cases immune to that? Would be disappointed if after paying a premium amount, I get the same quality.
No Orzly users here? :l
Need to buy a case ASAP, bump.

I have an Orzly flexi case and no, they're not immune to the yellowing effect. In fact, if you turn on the torchlight, the whole case would illuminate in a golden yellow colour.
If you want a transparent case, I'd recommend a hybrid case like the Ringke Fusion. The polycarbonate back would be immune to yellowing and you can choose tinted TPU on the sides, since clear TPU yellows gradually.

Ah, thank you. I'll find a Ringke through aliexpress, since they officially aren't available in India, yet.
Moreover had a Ringke fusion for my OPO long back, still transparent as the first day, no yellow tint there indeed. :good:

thin cover

hi guys, I have a problem to use covers, as I have small hands the normal covers increase the width in the phone, so it is more difficult to use it with one hand, there is a cover with very thin edges that is reliable and compatible with the film whitstone?
I like very much pitaka cover but can't see carbon design, l'm loooking for some similar cover.

Here's mine... I have black and blue versions. Bought many different low cost cases, and some more expensive ones like spiegen for example, but keep coming back to this one as it adds minimum bulk and keeps the original feel of the phone. Plus the stand is magnetic and comes really handy.

I can totally understand u need...
I have few of them...
Spigen is thin but not thin enough...
The best I found is Samsung thin case... It's the thinned u will get... But very slippery
Baseus makes something very similar.. Nice colors and slippery again...
What I have done now is I have put a clear slickwrap back of device on the cases to make it Less slippery...
Here are some pics if the Baseus case...
I can post links /pics of the other ones when I get home.

I remain of the idea that pitaka is the most serious and the most subtle but also the ugliest with that carbon frame, I do not know, I'm really confused.

The Samsung silver case is from my pre order credit and came from Samsung.com.
My initial response, you kinda get what you pay for.
My favorite among all them is the UAG case and that is what I am using as my daily case.
I chose this because it was smaller than any of the other cases which gave what I consider 'great' protection both on the sides and front and back.
The Ringke comes in second as the best value.
The Poetic is just too large, you will see in the photos it is the largest of them all, but it is the only one that comes with a screen protector which was kinda nice.
The Armadillotek is a great option, but since the phone is already so large in my hand - the UAG was a tad smaller and felt more comfortable.
The Samsung case lacks the raised edges I would like to see in drop protection on the front.
The Anemat also lacked raised edges for safety.
Lined them up on edge to show heigh of all units, the Poetic and Armidillo are the tallest.
Side grips are nice, the phone is large and anything to keep in settled in my hand was a bonus.
I guess for a 1300 phone I had to bite the bullet and get a 50 dollar case, vs the 10 and 20 dollar options.
I did like the ArmidilloTek for the few days I used it, but the UAG just ended up being more comfortable for me personally.
Not sure this will help anyone, but it does, I hope I saved you having to return stuff back to Amazon
I plan to put on the gel UV glass screen protector sometime next week, I just left the stock protector on for the time being.
Love the phone though and the promo with TMO really made it a no brainer.
I also settled for the UAG Monarch, it's a premium but it's better than the imitators.
I choose ArmadilloTek because of the front cover.
I like the paint on Monarch tho
Nice, thanks for this review.
the orange case looks neat
I'm currently switching between UAG Monarch (same color as OP) and Samsung's Black Leather Cover, and I'm glad about my choices. Sometimes if I want that my S21U should feel more bulky I go with UAG, other time if I want to have more elegant and slick cover I'm using the leather one.

too pricy here in TX
I just ordered a UAG Monarch tonight as I've just gotten my phone today. Verizon wants $70,so I got it directly from UAG for under $35. Tried it and it feels really good in the hand. Bought the S21U with a techarmor case and there is barely any protection for rear camera. Pelican also feels really good in the hand but also no real camera protection
