Hey There, My LCD went bad so I had to replace the screen, When I replaced the screen, LCD was working but touch screen was not responding. What can be done? I've checked all the cables inside the phone and everything is connected as it should be.

It's likely your device's touch digitizer is also bad. Recheck the cable for it and see if it's connected properly, otherwise that's another part to buy.

Hi, i'v got a problem. I tried change my digitizer and, when im done, now lcd doesn't work, because it is still white...:/ What can i do now? any solutions?
Thanks a lot
Check your connections. Pull apart and re-seat everything to ensure everything is hooked up good.
everything is fine :/ still white screen
Perhaps you zapped or damaged the LCD when you were working on it...
You could try replacing the LCD too -- but at this point I think I would send it to the professionals
HTC repair or someone like PPCTechs
Don't know if the screen set up is still the same. But when I replaced the screen on my Universal the wiring for the touchscreen was stuck down onto the lcd wiring, as they both shared common earths. Maybe worth a check before spending more cash?
i have the same problem, the screen was working fine before i replaced the new digitilizer and now its just white but i can hear the tablet playing so it must be the screen.i checked all the wiring 4 times now! any idear???
:crying:
Slide the phone open and apply some pressure near where the angle of the opening is (back of the LCD below the SIM, where there is a bar). I had the same issue and this fixed it.
I've just replaced the LCD display on my kaiser and it works fine as a display, but the touch function doesn't work at all. The part numbers are the same (60H00091-00M) and so is the type number (TD028TTEB3).
I don't think I have damaged anything in assembly or disassembly - using instructions from this forum. The screen was new and the old one worked before being dinkled with a key in my pocket.
Is there anything I may have missed, easy to damage or misalign etc which I can check before hunting for a new screen or phone?
Thanks,
You need a digitizer too. Most ebay shops only sell a replacement lcd screens without that part (if you got it from there). So if yours didnt say it had a digitizer on it/with it, you won't have any touch input. The part number might match a good copy from China or whatever, but might not be an original screen.
Thanks for the reply.
This screen was brand new and did have the digitiser, but I'm guessing it was second or reject stock.
The ribbon cable connection from the digitiser to the screen had been re-soldered badly and one leg was shorted to the frame. I've resoldered this and the screen is now working properly again.
Hello, I am a true noob so please forgive me if I sound dumb.
I had a broken screen so I bought a new one on Ebay. I changed it perfectly, it looks good but now when I touch the screen it acts like I touched the top left corner (in portrait)no matter where on the screen I touch (so it opens up the "Start" menu). In landscape it acts like I touched the top right so it opens up the drop down menu with all the running programs.
I would really appreciate some help. I try re-aligning the touch screen but it does not recognize any touches at all. I have to soft reset the phone to get out of the re-align program.
I don't want to hard reset because I have read many cases where the phone gets stuck in align program as it is trying to setup and they have to install remote access or something to get around it.
I would like advise on whether it is the new screen or the phone. Is there something I can check for inside or should I send the screen back for a replacement.
Thank you for your help.
Having replaced the touch screen in a Palm with success, I would say that...
You either have a problem with the connector for the screen, recheck the connection
Someone sold you a bad screen.
Something else is wrong with the device.
At this point I don't know that in your position I wouldn't do a hard reset. What is the worst thing that can happen? The device is already broken in it's current state.
Good luck.
Thank you
Thank you very much for your help. I will try the connector. if it does not look damaged then I will return the screen.
Did you replace just the screen itself, or the screen and the digitizer? More than likely your digitizer is broken aswell. If you replaced them as a set, request a new one from wherever you got it, and if you just replaced the LCD, then you need to buy a digitizer aswell.

Well, I only received the screen. I cant figure out where the digitizer is on the tilt so I don't know if I changed it or not. Does any body have any picture??
I think I read somewhere that it all comes as one piece(the screen and digitizer), but I can't confirm it.
Indeed they most of the time do come as one peice, so if your connection is good on the mobo, then I would say that the digitizer you recieved is bad. The digitzier is the super thin peice of glass that covers the LCD screen.
I had a black g1 that had a broken power button and sticky keys, but its digitizer and touchscreen were intact. I purchased a white shell, installed everything, making sure the ribbons were fine, and now, I have a working g1 with power and good keys, but the digitizer isn't functioning.
Any way to diagnose this prior to me getting a new digitizer?
Recheck the ribbons.. they can pull out when you stick the case back together.

Looks like it won't seat firmly, and in my attempt to, the little black flip switch broke off ; would I have to get a new display or replace the ribbon port somehow? I'm bidding on some ebay bids for broken G1's so maybe I can salvage some components such as that ribbon to get the g1 back up to snuff.
New digitizer and screen later, I'm not having much luck. Same issue, screen works, digitizer nada.
Is there any other thing to check besides the connection between the display and digitizer and the display to the long ribbon extending down to the phone's motherboard?

Indeed you may check for damaged components on your mainboard...
E.g. there's a level shifter for I2C interface with integrated ESD protection.
First check the output of your kernel with dmesg to make sure that the synaptics touchcontroller get's recognized during boot up.
If your kernel fails to register the driver for synaptics controller, there's something wrong with your hardware.
See the attachment for the location of the touch controller level shifter.

Hello guys, Yesterday i changed the battery on my phone. After putting everything back together my screen stopped working, with no image and no touch function. The cable on the right bottom is connected but perhaps i damaged it in some way..
The phone is working properly, if I connect it to an HDMI it works.
Any ideas on what I may have done wrong and the solution?
I took it to a shoo and they say I have to replace the whole screen (USD 100 approx) which seems too much..
Check this coil. If it's shorted it's ok, if not make jumper on it. Also check filter (small bricks) under the LCD flex connector and LCD flex itself if it's not teared. Those are common damages which can be done disassembling this phone.
Yup it's the LCD flex that is dammaged.. Is it possible to repair? I'm guessing that on a shop they will want to change the whole LCD screen..
Unfortunately there is no way to change flex only. If it's damaged You have to change whole screen.
Ok, oh well that's life... thanks for the help though!
