Is it still on? I mean, if it's off, can you still turn it on? If so, when you turn it on, hold the Volume Up button right after you hit Power, so you end up in Recovery. Then factory reset from there.
My kindle fire is stuck on the initial screen with all grey letters and it wont go away, im trying all the utilities i can but nothing is working because it says device not found but i have it plugged in . Please help
Hello,
I'm working on a friends kindle fire, but can't seem to pinpoint which one this is. It only has a power buton on the bottom with Micro USB port. Says Kindle on the back horizontally, and has model # D01400 on the back.
Can anyone help identify exactly which kindle this is? I think its 1st Gen
Sounds like a first or second gen.

Kindle Fire 7" HD 2nd Gen stuck in Red screen and not getting discovered in Dev Mngr
Hi All,
My kindle fire 7" HD 2nd gen is showing red screen instantly after the kindle logo appears. It's also not getting detected in Device manager. But the kindle does seem to recognize the computer as when I connect it switched off to the computer, it switches itself on. I haven't tried to root it or install any CFW
How can I solve this, I want the kindle fire to be detected by the PC and want to be able to go to fastboot mode without the factory cable to recover the device.
I searched a lot in the forums here, But not able to proceed with any of them, as the device is not getting detected and I do not a factory cable and being in India, I would have to import it from outside.
I have a Amazon Kindle X43Z60 .. My problem is, The tablet is very very slow, I cannot swipe down from the top to enter settings and the launcher always crashes even after a restart.
I already tried holding the power button for 20-25 seconds but that didn't work.
