I hold vol down and power button and enter bootloader menu. Now when i press rcovery, i get black screen then red triangle. I then press power on for a while and enter into main screen. How do i get into recovery mode? Help. I have enabled usb debugging and disabled fast boot.
That's the stock recovery, you need to flash CWM/TWRP first

Just flash it manually. I'm sure there's a guide in the first post of TWRP recovery thread. If you are already unlocked you can just do
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Whereas recovery.img is the name of the custom recovery you want to use (I rename mine to recovery.img for ease of use)

fastboot flash boot boot.img no recovery

Why can't I go into recovery whenever I do this step to install cm11/cm12 roms? I can boot into recovery fine in stock roms using either dual recovery or stock kernel flashed from zips. My fastboot command didn't return any error.

Installing TWRP, but after rebooting again open stock recovery

Any idea?
You are in fastboot mode when you flash recovery.img . Press volume down and choose recovery and press power . That's all what you need to do after flashing recovery in cmd . But if you want to try another way after flashing recovery write - fastboot -i 0x2b4c boot name_of_recovery.img

Stuck in TWRP

Hi everybody,
I have used the command fastboot boot TWRP.img on my macbook connected to the MI9 and now I cannot bypass the TWRP screen. 3.3.1-1siankatabg.
I can only have the fastboot mode or the TWRP screen.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I don't have windows.
Thanks for the help;
May be because it's recovery.img and not TWRP.img Try to reflash TWRP (you may try different versions) if you will be able to boot TWRP but not system, reflash your rom, if not just flash fastboot ROM, it can be flashed in fastboot mod.
And i'm just guessing.
Flash TWRP again.
Connect your phone in Fastboot mode and use fastboot commands in this order:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
And now before u put this command, hold "Volume +" button until vibration:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Then in TWRP if your memory is encrypted, put the password in, and reboot to system from TWRP Menu.
Hi,
I managed to start but I had to erase data
Thanks!

Stuck between TWRP, fastboot, Recovery

Hello,
I was trying to install a custom ROM after upgrading to Android Q beta. So I tried to install TWRP 3.4.0, I could flash with `fastboot flash recovery twrp.img` but the `fastboot boot twrp.img` never worked. Reboot to recovery was always leading to old recovery.
I always could have reboot into system until I enter the command. I guess that was a bad thing.
$ fastboot boot twrp.img
So right now I can access to fastboot, recovery and twrp boot but not android system anymore.
Here's where I boot when I chose to reboot into partition from twrp :
System -> TWRP
Recovery -> Old Recovery
Bootloader -> fastboot
How can I recover from all this mess ?
