[Guide] MIUI Mods, Update- Timescape, ES, Reboot etc

Hello,
There are various MIUI roms ported to the Arc but haven't seen any Mods for them yet so just sharing these. I did not make these and am just sharing them and all credit goes to the makers:

The first, and most popular mod is the Extended Settings Mod by Andy Thomson. It gives you the:
Option to Hide/Unhide Status Bar Clock
Option to Hide/Unhide Alarm Icon
Option to select a custom colour for the clock
Option to Hide/Unhide Battery Icon
Option to select a custom colour for the top-bar battery
Option to select a custom colour for the carrier
Option to Hide/Unhide Carrier
Option to specify your own custom carrier text
Option to replace carrier text with a logo.
Option to specify pull-down date/time format. (see below for examples)
Option to specify lockscreen date/time format. (see below for examples)
Option to change Overscrolling.
Option to Enable/Disable an App Drawer.
Option to choose a solid wallpaper in the colour of your choice.
Option to choose a colour and adjust the transparency of the statusbar
As well as the above. If you go to Launcher Settings you will have the following options..
Option to enable/disable Wallpaper scrolling
Option to enable/disable Auto close folders.
Option to show/hide icon labels.
There are the reboot mods by roenano which allow you to reboot:
1. Normally
2. Hot Reboot (Restarts the OS)
3. Reboot directly to the bootloader (Fastboot)
4. Reboot directly to recovery
The third mod allows you to skip tracks via the volume buttons and is also by Andy Thomas:
While the phone's screen is off and Music is playing, long pressing the Volume Buttons will skip tracks either forward or backwards. While the phone's screen is off and No Music is playing. Short presses will adjust the Volume.
When the screen is on (even if the phone is locked) the volume buttons control the volume as normal.
How to Install:
1. Reboot into recovery.
2. Go to mounts and storage and mount /system
3. choose "install zip from sdcard"
4. choose "choose zip from sdcard"
5. locate your file
6. confirm "YES - install "
7. wait for script to finish
8. reboot phone

Thank you for sharing these tips. Just FYI, the ICSsettings (Extended settings for ICS) are not working with the MIUI version SaOSsinx released last Tuesday. I'm anxiously waiting for a fix.

And I appreciate your help. It's a good thing you started the thread because the information is really hard to find.
I'm using MIUI 4.0 as my dairy driver. It has some bugs, but not enough to make my phone unusable. But I definitely miss the extended settings for GB.

Oh okay, well 3G isn't working yet which wipes out the whole factor of being a 'smart'phone for me.

No.. There's a ROM that you can actually download, I'm doing that now and I'll try flashing it soon

so i try to translate it via Google translate and i when i understand it right, than its only a cm9 bootanimation! and the second point wehre you can see that this rom is not cm9 is the kernel. you can see that the rom use the htc kernel

Just downloaded it, from initial inspection its the WRE rom... I think.... but from the way the translation reads, they've managed to make it worse lol

dont u think its slow

Review to 1 day of usage
Hey, thanks for another great rom. Here is the review :
1. The rom is a bit laggy. Lags appear every now and then which becomes a bit irritating.
2. The air command window can be opened but it freezes there itself if attempted to close and the device then needs to be restarted to solve the issue.
3. Multiple sound engines always cause some issues. So i suggest to keep only Viper in the rom. Viper works flawlessly.
4. The S note and sketchbook apps are very much slow.

No its not slow.....yesterday late night i downloaded and flashed...and what i observe are below.....
Its is smooth like stock
works well...both sim's, network etc
All samsung goodies and lot more...
What is not good...
When i open camera and take picture camera closed...but picture is taken i tried for both front and back camera and this issue happened.
When i clicked on Font in setting system UI crashed
It seems some more work is required towards this rom to be a great rom
overall good work by devs and thanks @nrupesh2912 for porting this great rom for our turbo

Smart features not working
Features in this ROM like smart stay,smart scroll and air gestures are not working
air command does comes up but I am not able to use any of its function
only smart pause in the video player works accurately
I wish you to file update .zip for following features to work especial smart scroll by tilting head
hoping a good reply from xda team

In call screen is distorted
Is any body facing distorted call receiving screen with this ROM? What is the fix?

i have sucessfully flashed your rom by port with my stock rom....
but the problem is with resolution...
the icons and apps are very small in my mobile...how to increase the resolution are resize the apps....?
please help me there is no manifacters for this rom so i tried to port rom....

After some days using this rom I can say I love it <3 The performances are really good and the rom works really fast, with smooth animations and graphics The coolest thing for me is the status bar, and the only improvement I would really like to see is the possibility to make the status bar transparent. With the outcoming of KK and Lollipop 5.0,the transparent statusbar should be a possibility in every rom If it's not a big trouble, I'd like to demand to the rom developer (or porter) to add the transparent statusbar, maybe just with a flashable zip file thanks in advance and thank you for this awesome rom! Error Flashing Rom HELP!
I`m flashing your rom (FUSION SAGA) from stock and i can only do steps up to 5 "Flash EXT4 Formatter" once completed i get the error E:Can`t mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can`t open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can`t mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can`t open /cache/recovery/last_log
And when i complete the next few steps it says that it can`t "wipe" and or "mount" and when i flash the rom.zip it leads to a soft brick (unsurprising :silly. Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else is having this problem

first flash thunderkernel 2.2 then follow all the step......
it works fine for me...

it runs smoothly and fast...
but not i cant mount ext-4 partition.

You can connect your device to pc by usb or card reader then use minitool partion wizard delete only 2nd partion create the 2nd partion from unallocated one as primary ext4 apply changes disconnect usb or put memory card back
now You r able to mount your r partion if still there problem persist after these steps flash thunder kernel v2.2 it will definitely solve your problem @ piyush.patel8337 & potmilot

ext4 formatter link updated try new one those facing problem to convert to ext4 flash first stock rom though odin then go in cwm recovery mount everything & then flash multiformater....rest steps as same

is this necessory to have a ext4 partition......?
because i dont have any sec.partition....
i tried the method above,but phone stucks on samsung logo......

expanded internal storage and media option not working
in settings>Fusion saga settings>Application> use internal storage ..... option is not working...
so i cant link my apps to ext partition..

piyush.patel8337 thats not for moving the apps untill you use some internal memory increasing scripts better to leave that option instead of prefering script use link2sd or its pkus version

Hi,when I tried to flash script cronmod unofficial, the phone did not reboot constantly opening. whenever I returned to stock Rom.

1.Power off your galaxy ACe i.
2.After it vibrates boot it in the recovery mode by pressing the three button combination (volume up + home + power button)
3.Then go to apply update from sd card and then choose cwm recovery
4.Mount system, data and cache. Now format syatem ,data and cache.

6.Wait till the installation completes and then go to advanced and then select reboot recovery.

9.Choose SONY XPERIA E1.zip
10.Wait till the installation completes and then select reboot system.
11.The first boot will take time to complete
12.Finally you have SONY XPERIA UI on your Galaxy ACe i.

That is the one working ROM for my Galaxy Ace S5839i !!!!
And the one with the newest CM12.1 of the actual ROMs
But poor to see, that the /system size is smaller.
No way to get gapps working (even nano), because only 1 mb free space left.
Need to modify .pit file...

Things that need fix:
1)Ill response while Auto rotation
2)Youtube occassionaly has bugs not that serious but still would be better if you integrate another version in next built.
Btw hq videos seem to work fine while playing through mini apps.

-I rooted with the ROOT-S5830C-i-M.zip.
-I installed cm11kernel.zip (which claims ROOT is missing) ?
-I mount data to be able to enable USB debugging via adb but...
I cant get ADB to acces adb "/data/property/persist.sys.usb.config"

Flash stock rom via odin.
Install CM 11
Then upgrade it to this ROM it would be much hazzle free, also flash Y modem to get the mobile network and sim work.

Also for Odin I will need USB debugging enabled, or not ? Because Odin will "start", but not do anything then.
p.s.
After the 3rd time in continued after "Setup Connection..."
Then, after flashing, win7 x64 trys to re-detect the device :

The phone that was called dumb and crap.
The phone noone expected custom ROMs for.
Does now run smooth(!) in an Sony Xperia lollipopkat ROM... 5.1.1...this is amazing !

If I try to flash gapps, phone freezes at "Sony Xperia screen"
