Verizon has a Developer Edition Note 3 available with an unlocked bootloader. Is there another Note 3 variant available with unlocked bootloader that will work with AT&T (including LTE)?
Please look up the T-Mobile version of the phone. Works 100% with AT&T and is easy to unlock for use on AT&T. It has been posted about here dozens of times, should have all the info.

Unlocked bootloader, not carrier unlocked.
I have both T-Mobile and AT&T. I bought the T-Mobile full price, got a $10.00 SIM Card to activate, then paid 34.00 to have it unlocked. All less than 6 hours. Or you can wait 40 days and have it unlocked for free. I was in a hurry, so I paid. This was so that I can connect to my Gear watch. Now with SafeStrap, I loaded x-note7 and have Bluetooth tethering natively. So now I have a T-Mobile I plan to sell off.
Once again for clarity: I'm looking for a phone with a factory-unlocked BOOTLOADER, not unlocked carrier. Like the Verizon Developer Edition phone, except not for Verizon.

There is a big thread in the general section. A search should have found it.
[Guide] Tmobile N3 on AT&T's Network the Unofficial Developer Edition, CM11/KitKat
OMG... does no-one know the difference between an unlocked carrier and an unlocked BOOTLOADER?

The T-Mobile variant has an unlocked bootloader. It is however carrier locked. So you will have to carrier unlock it in order to use it on an AT&T network. So you will have to get it and pay to get it unlocked from the T-mobile network. It is supposed to have an unlocked bootloader and I am pretty sure that is what everyone is trying to tell you, but not in such a clear way.
From what I understand it is only AT&T that had Samsung lock the bootloader because their plan was/is with using KNOX to create a secure network for business customers and make it so the phones could not be easily compromised.
There is not a developer version or unlocked bootloader AT&T phone. If you want to use a phone that is bootloader unlocked on the AT&T network, buy a TMobile phone.

Do we have confirmation anywhere if the bootloader is unlocked on the T-Mobile Note 4?

Haven't seen anything yet, but if T-Mobile's history is any consolation, it should come unlocked. Almost all their phones are.
We can confidently say "yes" according to the past records.

AT&T yes, see my sig.
Verizon?? Well, VZW is CDMA and TMO is GSM. So it won't work on VZW unless the phone is dual GSM and CDMA.
Non locked bootloader
I called samsung today and spoke with a lady and she said that T-mobile has no plans of locking the bootloaders nor does samsung, and that locking bootloaders is solely on the carrier. So, I assume, we can have free reign over our bad a$$ note 4 on T-Mobile... I made the switch to them today from ATT...
I hope the BL is unlocked....I got the z1s and its been damn near depressing to see a device with so much potential be crippled by a locked BL....And its the only reason I'm making the jump to the N4...If the BL is locked on the N4 then I'm opting for the Nexus 6

now that some people have the actual note 4 in hand has it been confirmed that the boot loader is unlocked?

I would love to know the answer to this as well.
I see there is a root guide over in TMOB Android Development for root. Doesn't that mean that the boot loader mst be unlocked? I have not tried it yet myself as I was waiting for a SIM unlock and TWRP or CWM first.

no it does not, att and verizon note 3 got root and both had locked bootloaders
We can confirm that Bootloader is unlocked. People have rooted using Chainfire's auto root. Since that method requires an unlocked bootloader, it is 100% confirmed that the bootloader is unlocked.
YAY!!!!

Of course, we all are. Just do a little search. There are threads in all the ATT S3, S4, S5, Note 2 forums including a 700+ post thread in the Note 3 forum.

Okay good. I know it has in the past I am using a T-Mobile G3 with great lte on AT&T but wanted to know for sure
What is the model number of the T Mobile Note 4 that fits this description? Also curious if the Verizon Developer Edition fits this description despite my not being able to find one anywhere.
Does a comprehensive list exist anywhere that shows what USA Carrier branded phones, by make and model, that can and cannot be made to work on carriers which they were not originally branded?

Here in the US only two carriers lock the Sim it just depends on your carrier.
Not all Nexus devices are sold SIM-unlocked. When the phones were released, some carriers were selling the Nexus One, the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus SIM-locked. I haven't heard of any N6's sold SIM-locked yet, but it could always be a possibility.

In the US, N6 devices purchased from T-Mo, Sprint, Motorola and Google Play are unlocked. N6 from Verizon should be unlocked for use with GSM carriers, but I don't know for certain.
(I have no idea about the N6 sold outside of the US)
Thank You for all your answers.
And what about the US CELLULAR one, is it unlocked ?

Afaik - At&t is the only one we've seen locked.
Considering getting a pixel 5 but it's locked to ee UK network. I know in the past pixels from EE were impossible to sim unlock, privately away from EE. Is that still the case as I am hoping to sim unlock abs use my 02 sim card. Also if I was to unlock it from EE to 02, will I be able to use the esim feature?
