installed all the samsung note 7 games. and for the most part most work fine. however a few complain about overlay and redirect you to disable it. upon disabling it and going back to the game it has reenabled itself and you can't play the game because of the overlay problem. has anyone run into this yet and if so did you solve it and how?

Whoa you upgraded too huh? When I disable the culprit and the apps/game finally open launches then I don't get the issue anymore even after enabling the culprit. Mine was swipepad and LMT

Yesterday I got my Nexus and began installing play store apps. After I got many of my apps installed I noticed that some apps were coming up with "Your device isn't compatible with this version" and I wasn't able to download them. I went back and looked at some apps I had already installed such as Facebook for android and even that shows the same message now even though I was able to install it previously. I am disallowed in both the play store app as well as the web site from installing these apps so it is clearly something stored on play about my device. Is anyone else seeing this? Try the following apps
Facebook for Android
Firefox
My Tracks
Evernote
This list could go on.

I guess I should add that I am rooted and I made the following change to my build.prop file in order to get the tablet view.
- ro.sf.lcd_density=213
+ ro.sf.lcd_density=175
I guess I will try switching the density back and see if that makes a difference.
This is a common issue after you changed the LCD density, and unfortunately, there is no real solution (that I know of).
To get around this, revert back to the native density of 213. Clear cache of Play store. All apps should be compatible as stock. You can try to go back the lower the density again. Without clearing cache of the Play store this time, you may get lucky that the Play store may *think* it is still under the default LCD density.

Changing his density back should do it, with the clearing the cache of the play store

Many of my GSII apps show as incompatible. No root or anything done to N7 yet. I did get FB to work though.
Thank you all for the replies. When I made the dpi changes the Play Store did operate as normal for some time. I have now switched my dpi back and cleared cache and data for Play Store. Still not working properly at this point, but I will keep you posted. Thanks for the heads up!
For future reference I found this post that talks about Tablet UI and the aforementioned Play Store issue.

Yes, I have no problem launching those apps. It sounds like its just a Play Store incompatibility. Some others have reported using a dpi of 160 and not having Play Store issues, but like I said, my issue showed up a couple hours after the fact. And having changed it back to the default, my Play Store issues have not yet gone away.
After changing the settings back, force stopping play store, clearing cache and data, then rebooting, I was able to get the play store behaving properly again. But I HATE the phone UI. So I am tempted to change it back once I get the apps I want. I may give 160 a shot rather than 175.

Glad to hear that it worked.
I have been using DPI of 160 since yesterday. Play store is still behaving normally so far. Fingers crossed.
Let us know how it turned out for you at 160.
Since I've had my device rooted I have had a lot of apps on the plays store which says incompatible with your device, can someone e please help, thank you.
Why not just follow the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780970
And skip changing the DPI.
Ain't there another way without patching it, that is long a and I don't want to mess up my nexus 7

Hi,
To change your LCD density but avoid apps incompatibility, set your density back to 213.
Now, create a file in /data/local.prop and type in it :
qemu.sf.lcd_density=160
You can change the density to whatever you want, save and reboot
Please press thanks if I helped you

Ok this is driving me crazy, randomly the app watch on will pop up in my notification bar. I disable it and it will just pop up again at a random time. Does anyone know how to permanently remove? besides freezing it of course

This just started happening to me the other day. I don't understand why because it hasn't done it before. I too disabled the notification and it automatically turns itself back on. I cleared the data and started over but that did not help. I froze the app with tbu a little bit ago because I rarely use it. It is frustrating because that is one of the only Samsung apps that I like. I too would like to know of a fix for it.

holllly cow. I have been battling this for 3 days now. I thought it was just my phone being supper glitchy. I have gone as far as to uninstall the app... witch will stop it from comming up in the notification bar. Then i re download it from play store. After about 4 reboots it comes back. I will set it in the setting to not come on in notification pannel. Boom its back. No way to stop it..... same with a few other apps. Its like they do not close the correct way and do not save the settings. My swannview dvr app is one more that wont save settings because it won't close correctly.
I don't know if this narrows it down but I noticed when I had wifi turned off I never got it but the second I turned it back on it started popping up again.
I have the same problem. This morning, while trying to disable the notification bar setting again, I got nag popup about allowing Watchon to use mobile data or only wifi. I selected the allow mobile data option and do not ask me again. Now, I can't find the setting to change it back to see if that would affect the notification bar problem. I don't want to test all of the settings because I would lose the devices that I have setup. I assume the problem is caused by an update to Watchon. The only thing I have changed recently us switching to Nova Launcher. Could this be related?

Judging by this I would assume it is the location settings that is triggering this. Try to go to system settings > More > Location services > My places > Choose the places and click none. I can't confirm this works, but it seems that this is triggering for the problem. Also note this isn't a great solution; other location services may be affected with this change.
This is caused by the latest WatchOn update.
I use WatchOn since the day I get my S4 Active (2 months ago) and this NEVER HAPPENED before the update.
I had to disable WatchOn with TB.
Another example of Samsung messing up good stuff!

It has nothing to do with location services. All of mine were already set to none, and I have the same problem.

Sorry then, it must have been the WatchON lock screen location settings I was thinking of. No clue, honestly.
So did this ever get worked out? I just got the note 3 and am already seeing this behavior.
SOLUTION!..
Here is how i disabled remote control on notification panel and lock screen.
Its on Watchon Settings.
watch work done
This is what I did:
Settings
More
Application Manger
Samsung WatchOn
Remove the check for "Show Notifications"
This doesn't stop the program from starting on powerup, but it removes it from the notifications.
This is a thread that should be closed. The problem was fixed by an update. I can confirm that it did exist at one time, but the only people that still have thre problem either have not updated or they have not changed their settings.

If I have the framework installed, I'm unable to do anything in the Scrabble app except see it open. No selecting a game; no moving tiles; nothing.
It's as if none of my touches are registering.
Any idea what the problem is? And/or how to fix it?

Some apps check for changes in /system and won't run properly if modifications like xposed are installed. Puzzles and dragons and many square enix games are the same way.
Edit- there's no fix for it but you could try the root cloak module. It has mixed results for issues like this but it's worth a try.
Here's some info in the FAQ as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52289317&postcount=4

Do you mean the EA game from Play Store? I just downloaded it and it seemed to work just fine. I didn't start a real game, but I got to the screen where I could start one, see statistics etc.
Please also try without any active modules.
Yes, it's the EA one from the Play store. I tried it with no modules active but with no success. Scrabble only works again once I uninstall the framework.
I'll give the root cloak a go later today. Thanks y'all.

any idea what the problem could be? i've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling both and still get the same results. no problem with any other app either i'm stumped

Glad I could help out, was same for me, had layers installed for months and bam!
First issues with GHangouts fc then weeks later Photos fc. Photos took much longer to figure out. I tried clear data, reinstall etc.
Hopefully layers will be updated soon to accommodate apk.

Ok now I've never had issues using multi window with my slingbox app but I cannot get it to work properly! I used to always watch the game on slingbox app and look at my fantasy team without issues.... Now when I interact with second app other than slingbox app it stops and goes to connect screen! This also happens while I search for opponent in my clash of clans game! It always worked before but same thing if I interact with second app it resets the game! This is frustrating the f out me so if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

By the way it's not just my Note 8 my nephews does same thing.... His is Verizon and mine is at&t variant! I'm really hoping it's a setting I'm missing.... I've tried a few things in developer options and nothing!

I also have this issue. I'm on Verizon. I used to be able to play nfl mobile and waze at the same time on my note 5 but the nflmobile will stop if I touch anything on the waze app. Same thing applies with nfl mobile and any football fantasy app (nfl, espn). Would be a shame for such a powerhouse of phone to now be limited.

I'm currently having the same issues. Would be nice to know if its just on some device or every device. Do you have a different launcher installed other than the native Samsung? I currently have Nova Launcher installed, not sure if that is the problem but if I remeber correctly when I first obtained my Note 8 I didn't have this issue. I just realized it recently, not sure if its because of the Update or the Launcher.
I was running the stock Samsung experience and had the same issue. I can't say if it did prior to the update though.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Same issues unlocked N8. If i open a game (Dominations) and Notes...the game turns all pink and it times out.
@On another topic - does anyone know if we can work 2 apps in landscape? I'm quite surpised that the note with its unusual long shape cant do multi window on landscape
Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
I am also running Nova launcher but apparently that's not the issue! I have a feeling that the issue started when Android went to native multi window so its an Android issue! Apperently when Samsung provided the os with multi window everything worked! I could be wrong but it makes sense and I believe multi window came on nougat but it's just a hunch. Regardless it's really annoying and I hope someone knows about it and is working to resolve the issue!
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I was thinking the same thing, but then was wondering why I can't find anything on the web regarding this problem. As if it doesn't bother anyone else or it might just be my device that is having this issue.
Yeah did a search before even posting a question and came upon this thread. I guess only a few care about this lol. Hopefully a solution does comeby :/
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I have been running Waze and another traffic app next to each other in multi window mode (portrait and landscape mode works). Initially it was working more or less fine. It does happen that if the traffic app is the active screen, Waze would not show any updates on the map. Waze does show updates on directions as text on top of the screen. However after the last November update, only the active screen is working and the other screen does not update. I noticed if you have two apps that plays media, it cannot be played simultaneously. Using Whatsapp and something like Youtube doesn't freeze the media playing.
Anybody found the solution yet?
