Will my internal erase full when I unlock bootloader and flash ROM?
Yes internal storage will get erased while unlocking bootloader but not at the time of flashing rom via twrp if u untick the internal storage option in advanced wipe

This is my first phone that only has only internal storage. I need to double check before flashing any custom roms. Is there a partition on the phone that you guys save the custom roms to or does it not matter. I was thinking about saving it to the DCIM folder since its easy to find. My fear is that the rom will get erased when we clear the cache throught Teamwin recovery. Btw my phone is bootloader unlocked, rooted and has tw recovery installed. Tia.
Just copy it to the internal storage on the phone. TWRP does not erase internal storage when you factory reset.

Custom recovery do not wipe /data/media on factory reset, which is where "internal storage" is located. But you can wipe it with the "Format Data" option.

Even I had a similar issue. I've never had a device without a SD card.
So if I flash twrp and then a custom rom do I lose things like photos, media on my phone?

You only lose data if you unlock your bootloader. Or if you format the data partition. Flashing a rom and factory reset via TWRP does not erase your files.

I first time using the phone have no SD card. When I flash the custom ROM need to wipe the DATA, where I put the customer ROM for install.
Thanks
Hi
Just put your rom.zip in the root of your internal storage, wipe data is only wiping data partition not your fully internal storage, except you choice to formatting it..this will erase your internal storage.

Its also called external-sd, go into the menu then files and search for that folder. BTW what rom do you want to flash?
There is an akward situation, whenever i try to go into TWRP for flash any zip aur img file , TWRP does not show any such file. It is 100% sure that i transfer the flasheable zip file to the mido. But TWRP does not show. It shows 0mb internal storage. And i tried to wipe delvik cashe data system but it gives a message and error in red color that data not mount.
So for this i just formate the phone by twrp... It get easly formate by typing YES and delete all the internal storage, after that i can wipe all the stuff under advanced wipe by selecting all the options system data delvik cashe.... Etc.
After doing this i just power off the phone by twrp, and again boot the phone into twrp recovery by pressing volume up+ power button
And then twrp shows 52 gb aprx internal , so i transfer the custom rom zip file and gapps zip to the phone using computer.
After that i had flash the rom and reboot the phone into system..
The phone get started and work awsome.
Now after an hour latter , i had again reboot the device to recovery ... To flash magisk manager ... Guys i am shoked the internal storage shows 0 mb instead of actual memory.
Again does not shows any zip file, img file.
So i have to follow all the steps that i performed before formate the phone and reboot to recovery then transfer magisk and then flash it.
The problem is why twrp again and again shows 0mb error ...
So i also flash the miui using fastboot method (clear all) clean flash, then flash the twrp after that flash the custom rom.
After flashing rom , Now again reboot to recovery it shows 0 mb internal and data unable to mount.
Twrp fix temporary not permanent.
Please tell me if you find any solution for this for permanant fix twrp 0 mb error....

Hi! actually i had similar issue after restoring all partitions (not just boot data and system, but all the 10 or more partitons) on my redmi 4x. i couldnt mount the data partition it got corrupted somehow. I couldnt format it in twrp too. Reflashing everything in my flash solved the problem, just dont forget to NOT choose the option with RELOCK, or you will lock the bootloader.
I have rooted and install the custom rom but failed and then i again install my stock firmware but now the issue is my internal storage is missing now i have only 2.40GB of internal storage available can any one help me how to format the internal storage and take my 16GB memory back

Flash twrp, full wipe, format data, install stock b638, factory reset with stock recovery, install twrp sgsin, full wipe than install persona's mod. That's it.
Hello everybody,
I flashed some rom from other forum which changed my vendor(i guess by twrp messages) and I forgot to flash disable force encryption zip, so now i have encrypted storage, no system and some different vendor which wasn't on my device by default. I have access on twrp and fastboot and all but how can I install system on encrypted device without losing my data(factory reset to decrypt storage) phone?
Edit: by data I mean internal storage not app and rom data. I already wiped them.
copy data to pc or in pendrive using otg then proceed
