Hi, I'm new here and I have some questions since here on Brazil we do not have a deticated "blog" like XDA.
I have a Z3 Compact on MM 23.5.A.1.291, and I want to change de ROM, Root it, recovery, maybe change the kernel.... I really need a good camera, keep the DRM key if possible, but i can't keep it on CyanogenMod 12.
The question is, How can I put on my device the best ROM (CM12), the Best Camera, he Best Baterry, the best UI, etc, since I have a Stock Sony Device? Step by step if possible. Thanks.
Mr. Bruno Stangarlin.
Hi, I'm also from Brazil. CM just isn't stable enough for daily use. Take a look at Paranoid Android, but camera is broken there too.
I would recommend installing Concept rom. It's built by Sony, is almost like Nexus (apart from the camera interface), and is the most clean and stable rom we have. You can find it in the general section of our device and install it with flashtool. Feel free to PM me or ask here for details.

Would you mind to show me a link to this Concept ROM? And, how can I root this ROM? Thanks.

The Concept rom is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706/page1
To root it you must unlock your bootloader, which I would not recommend. But you can find the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3291722

Is AOSP ROM the same as Concept ROM?
No, but Concept has a similar look and feel.

There is no "best ROM". These questions are generally frowned upon as well. What works best for me, may not work at all for you. As @simms22 said previously, there are a wide variety to choose from. I suggest reading the OP of any ROM you choose, and seeing if it has the features you need, then flash that ROM and try it for yourself. Also, read the users comments within the ROM thread to see what their experiences are. The only way to find the best ROM for you, is to try several and decide for yourself.
Good luck!

Stock rooted hard coded without Xposed and GravityBox. LMAO
My personal two favorites are Euphoria OS and Benzo Rom (which is based off Euphoria) mainly because it contains Cyanogenmod features while keeping an AOSP base. Also I love how Viper4Android is built in to Benzo Rom. However it comes down to you on what you want to install.
Nice ROM to try
I have installed a Rom called "pure nexus " with modular gapps who have nice preinstalled support of layers and is very stable fast and battery saving and i have personalized with someone layers to remenber playstation.
Euphoria I just try but is very instable, app crash and home crash..
I tryed chroma but isn't a nice ROM for me because have low costumization but is good and fast.. All ROM I tryed have a support for not encrypted I hate it
Gravity and framework i have installed on my all phone but i don't like the release alpha for LP because when i need to install a next release for ROM with bug fix framework need to re installation and all app in the ROM need to optimized..

If flashing a zip is so hard, don't use xposed.
TWRP will flash up to 10 zips at once.
Dear All,
I'm just wondering what is the best stable updatable ROM for Sony Xperia Z1?. Also, if there is Stable Kernel with suggested ROM will be great.

There is a rom in the making which is exactly that. Even though it is still in beta right now, it is silky smooth. It might hit XDA sooner or later, so keep an eye out for it on the development sections.

Do you prefer stock based (better camera and stability)? AOSP (5.1) based (fast and responsive, average camera and fewer bugs than 6.0 ROMs)?

Always updated, really stable, fast, secure and packed with features.
But you need an unlocked bootloader (if you have not unlocked yet please remember to backup your DRM keys).

Thanks buddy, I'll look into this ROM. Do you think that I need to look for custom Kernel to work with this ROM or no need.
I can suggest the combination from my signature. It is very stable. Another very stable and good ROM is DStrikerZ1.

I just flashed Nightlies CM 13 frankly because it's the only one with a youtube video I can follow because THESE GUIDES assume that everyone reading them has EXP in flashing.
Anyways so I found a youtube video on how to flash from stock to CM Nightlies and so I was able to flash it yay! I find it very nice except for the damm keyboard which sometimes doesnt work until u refresh many times and it sometimes go on landscape mode even though the phone's on portrait (btw if u know a solution for this lemme know). Otherwise it's great, I have no issues with fingerprint and ...other stuff. Frankly im kind of a ressurected android because last android i had which i also flashed was Galaxy Y before switching to iOS jailbreaking.
But I saw Nuclear and I read it's the best blabalabla. So What I would like to ask is what am I missing from Nuclear?
~Stability? so far not encountering any stability issues with nightlies.
~Built in features? Nightlies seems to have the stuff I need.
Please tell me.
I apologize for the long post im just a babbler and im very new here.
You won't find any difference in stability really, between CM nigbtlies and Nuclear, or Bliss, or Dirty Unicorn ...
Is pretty much the same base, the difference will be in additional features and some tweaks
I can't say which is the best for you, by I advise you look on YouTube/google. You should be able to find videos or description.
Or if your feeling adventurous now that you know how to flsah, try them!

Yes, did not want to get into the details since he's just starting flashing.
But in the case of the available Rom for ZUK atm there is not a big difference in everyday use in terms of stability etc.. mainly feature wise.

When you use dual sim, on dirty unicorn(a great rom so far) you get some trouble

You really have to try them or read them up. I honestly can't say which is the best for you.
Clear example is the answer before that. I don't care about dual Sim and system profile but like better AOSP coz Im tweaking that branch so can adapt for myslef.

Im just not sure if I understand the descriptions for these mods even though Ive read all that's available... but I am curious about nuclear.
Since I just flashed Nightlies. Beforehand I flashed TWRP and Unlocked Bootloader but did not flash SuperSU as it said in the video I followed....
1.) ....Can I just go to fastboot and just restore factory settings and flash Nuclear directly?
2.) Will my files and apps stay? Have 10GB worth of music and 100 apps that I already set up and installed..not in the mood in doing them ALL over again.
Thanks!

1.) You have to go into TWRP and do factory reset. But do follow the instructions to install nuclearom in the rom thread!
2.) All files stored in INTERNAL STORAGE(see partitions within TWRP) will not be deleted.
Apps are stored in data and will be wiped and you have to install again unless you backup them eg with Titanium Backup(great tool for flashaholics).
Read carefully all necessary guides.

Which ROM should I install if I want the most amount of settings and ways to customize things?
Some additional thoughts...
Does one even need a custom ROM these days, or can most things be changed using "Xposed installer"?
Are there any drawbacks using a custom ROM?
1. RR is a good choice IMO.
2. More features to play with. Themes. More updates.
3. Xposed doesn't exist on Nougat.
4. Nope except not be able to use full stock features. Stability? It depends on the ROMs and the maturity of the Android version.

Oxygen OS apps (but you can get a port version for Camera and Gallery)
Dark UI (but you can flash a ROM supporting Substratum)
...
I don't remember OOS well and since I have a preference for custom ROMs over stock firmware I can't give you many reasons to stay on OOS. If you want to have the latest Android version, some day you will have flash a custom ROM.

I've spent ten minutes trying to figure out which one is the official (or best) version of Resurrection Remix. Can you point me in the right way?
The one in your signature says it has a pirate-icon if you install pirate stuff. And while I may not do that, I still don't like the idea of that.
So which RR would you recommend?

Both versions have this anti piracy measure I think.
I recommend the unofficial builds since I'm using them ?
It has extra features such as delta updates, signature spoofing support,... and the dev is always available to help and answer our questions.

You could have just flashed the ROM days ago, and have decided yourself; instead of waiting for others to dictate what you will or will not like. And just because someone recommends it, doesn't mean you will even like it.

Agreed nicesoni ash has the best build in my opinion and the dev is great and very supportive of the rom and it's users. And there are lots of unofficial builds for nicesonis rom but you only need to install the latest one.
Hi guys,
I'm quite a newbie, so I just wanted to ask you which Custom-ROM from those 3 Android 7.X-Roms I should get. Simply I cannot find any summery on those 3 big releases, in which those are being compared.
The one I found:
1. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/rom-lineageos-14-1-xperia-z-t3530011
2. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/lineageos-14-1-xperia-z-t3637730
3. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-0-xperia-z-t3463762
For which one should go? Which one is the most stable and newest release? Especially battery performance is very important for me since the XZ is'nt that great in this regard.
Thank's for answers!

Basically all those links that you've posted lead you to same LineageOS rom so I suggest you to download from here:
https://download.lineageos.org/yuga
In regards of battery life, nougat in generally on Z is okay-ish(it can hold up for a full day +/- based on usage). But if battery is really a must for you, then I suggest you to install some CM13 or CM13 based rom.
adding some answer and summary
like @unrealRage said, those links are the same LineageOS rom, but there is a few little difference between them.
Link #3 is an outdated rom, so I recommend you to go to the newest one.
Link #2 is official LineageOS developed by Daedroza, you can get the latest version on the website that @unrealRage mention before.
Link #1 is unofficial LineageOS developed by Chippa_a with some customization like OMS support and Sony app support, wich is not available on official LineageOS.
If you ask me, I use the Chippa_a's build for now because the OMS support so I can use substratum theme engine and install many sony apps with ease. Maybe I'll move to official LineageOS when the final version comes out.
Thank you very much, Zerikwan and unrealRage. That's what I wanted, just a short summary.
Theme's aren't that important for me, but the Sony album app is quite nice. But I guess the stock one shouldn't be that bad so I will go for the Official version most likely. One last question, can you just switch between Official and Unofficial version with flshing those ROMS or do I always need to delete any data on the phone and reconfigure it afterwards?
