Well done, Samsung. They said in the beginning of June that the Update will be available within June. It is now the 19th. Of July and it's not here yet. They better be updating directly to 4.4.4 soon or at least a fast Android L update when it is available.. This is the only bad side of Android: for non-Nexus users it takes literally half a year to receive a MINOR update... Am I the only one that is angry about this problem?

But what's new. Samsung has newer been fast or early with updates.
They would have binned the 4.4.3 update and gone straight to 4.4.4 which makes sense really.
It shouldn't be too long now that we start seeing it roll out to the S5, but as always it's luck of the draw which region gets it first, & how long others have to wait until it reaches them which could be months.
No one really has a good track record when it comes to updates... sure sometimes some are better than others but if you want to go a non nexus device you have to deal with it
They are taking their time for sure... Sony, HTC already beat them to the punch (dunno about LG).
I only can remember the supposed document that didn't seem so real to be honest, when did Samsung publish an update schedule?
As said before in this thread, they most likely cancelled 4.4.3 to go all the way to 4.4.4 but even Sony has released that now.
i hope they will jump directly to android L

Reason for that being that both HTC & Sony software's isn't as bloated as Touchwiz is, tbh i think this generation of Touchwiz is actually worst performance wise & looks than the last gen on the Note 3 & S4.

Both Sony and HTC have a lot of code to add as well, but they are executing much better.
I suspect the delays are due to Samsung pushing a lot of devices at the same time and having limited engineering resources.
Most likely they are working on the Note 4 at the moment... and the 16 new devices they keep pushing every month.

Yes, you're the only one. Do you even know what .3 and .4 updates are? They're mostly security fixes that OEMs probably fixed in their builds before Google's own Nexus factory Android.

A; we weren't promised the update at all. there was a rumour started because of a heavily cropped image
B,the minor security fixs were possibly put in the NG update we all just got
C you start the thread with a promise of discussion but the op is typical OEM slamming that ive come to expect.
D there is no D because the first 3 were so good

As has been suggested , not much "Discussion" going on...

Dear all , i bought my lg flex with a jb everythin . Was awesome after i upgraded to kitkat im experiencing heat problems and battery drains issues before on jb in the end of the day i used to have 60 % now like 10% i need ur help in those 2 questions
1- should i downgrade to 4.2.2 and if i do that can i have the kitkat camera .apk cz its better
2- rooting will help that much and how to on 3.4.0 kernel
IM holding a D955 version
Thank you everyone in advance
This.
This is why I don't understand why everyone always wants software updates.
Even now, people are talking about wanting android l on their note 4
Guess what people, all updates bring is pain, and the wish to roll back, until next year when you buy a new phone, that was intended to be running the newer software... but even then, they want the update!
Then, the people who want updates are told to buy a nexus, because they are always first for updates. I bought the nexus 5 on day one, sure, I could run the Dev preview of android L if I wanted. .. but it's not complete, it's not the true version of Android L, and in all fairness, it's been almost a whole year now, and in all fairness, The only real appreciable update I will have had all year, is when I get android L on a nexus 6.
Even almighty apple can't do updates without having it break their older phones. Bottom line is, you want an update, you buy a new phone.
You are absolutely right with what you said .. i think the same way but before updating it they said it improves the battery life like 3 hrs ... it was a mistake anyway im on 4.2.2 again from the early morning till the moment im 47%...

It's the birth of another sweet treat going to come to Android One in a matter of weeks. I'm sure all of you readers are excited.
Just a few heads up before you get too much enthused though...
1) Know that Google has been working to provide regular security updates over the past few months. This means there should not be a huge delay in the update schedule, unlike last year. Now Google has to serve its new customers in Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan,Turkey,Nigeria,UK, Spain and Portugal instead of just India and Bangladesh, so its obvious that it will look after its babies.
2) Know that in order to get the Android 6 update, you have to have a free storage space of at least 10% of the system memory otherwise it won't download. Further, if you're rooted, install back the stock ROM and stock Bootloader otherwise the installation will result in an error.
Lastly, don't forget to share it when you have received the OTA.
The expected release is in mid October

I waiting for this update since first developer preview!
But I'm a little sceptical....
You are 100% sure that first generation will get official update to 6.0?
Or we have to wait for a custom rom based on marshmallow?
Im pretty sure that the 1st gen will get 6.0 update.
coz If I'm not mistaken google says that they will support the 1st gen android one devices for 2 years.

I know that but on some sites says that Google will support them just 18 months. That is my mainly concern
I hope initial release M not too buggy.
On the official Android.com they say it's for 2 years, till august 2016

Earlier post from Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, Android mentioned in the blog post "Starting next week, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will begin rolling out to supported Nexus devices around the world, including Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Android One"
http://android-developers.blogspot.in/2015/09/android-marshmallow-ready-for-devices.html
Now, they have updated and mentioned only for Nexus devices. Not sure when we will receive it now.

By 'UK', are you referring to the Karbonn Sparkle V that is available through Amazon UK and 7DayShop? BQ deliver their 2GB RAM M.5 to the UK but it is not an Android One device - the 1GB RAM A4.5, which is based on the M4.5 but with a five-year guarantee taking the place of the extra gigabyte of RAM - only delivers to Spain and Portugal.
Congratulations guys!!
Android One has started receiving marshmallow....

Apparently, BLU did promise last year to update the BLU-R1-HD to Android 7.0, during an interview to Android-Authority:
http://www.androidauthority.com/blu-...ounced-700951/
"US based, BLU Products, announced a new budget smartphone to its lineup for the US market. The BLU R1 HD is sold unlocked, backed by a 2500mAh battery and is currently one of the few devices yet, confirmed to run the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat when it arrives later this year."
I know that BLU does not have a very good track record with maintaining or updating their devices, but now that Android-8 "O" has been announced and is almost here, I would like to know if we are going to receive at least the Android 7.0 Nougat via OTA (from BLU, Google or Amazon), or would it be possible to manually install it on the BLU R1 HD cellphones when it is available?
from BLU i don't think so, you clearly can see this "confirmed to run the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat when it arrives later this year."(in 2016)... , u can try LineageOS ROM if you want to try nougat, the only thing you miss is the camera.
New update comes out today OTA (reteu). It's 8.0.0 with 07/2018 patch. Nothing else.
Damn.. I was expecting it to be Android 8.1 + June/July security patch just like Moto X4 ( non Android One version ) received few days ago. But well.. better than nothing.

Yes, that's funny for a 799€ business phone. But maybe we get android P first before all other moto phones it get.
Nothing on retin model , still 01/May/2018 patch.
Also i cant see Patch details under Security & Location. Is it normal for Z2 Force bcoz even my Moto Z shows it

Yes, this will roll out step by step. Please keep patiently. Can take few days or weeks until reached by everyone.

This is Lenovo (Moto) , it updates Mid range phones more than Flagships. if i see Android P coming to Moto G5/S/S+ or even Moto Z2 play is ahead in terms of updates (like it was already running June/July patch) its not a new thing for me
Sent from my Moto Z2 Force using XDA Labs
No no, Z serie get always 2 major releases. I think that's because we directly get android P (maybe first after Z3?) And an another reason is how many devices could sold in a time. Z2 Force maybe not so good as the cheap ones
Don't know the plans, but maybe Z2 Play get Android 8.1 as last update and the better Z2 Force Android 9.0, because it's the most expencive device. We will see

Hope so..but i am using moto since 2013 and always moto have done same thing eg. Only 1 major upgrade to G2,G3 but 2 major upgrade for Moto G4+ (Oreo for 2016 phone!);. Moto X Force (35K INR)got update till Android 7.0 , no VoLTE enabled but Moto X Play (17K INR) got Android 7.1.1 + VoLTE
The think is about their 2 major OS relases. Lets take our eg.(India) Moto Z2 Force was released in Feb2018 with Android O while it's been a available from 2017 with Android 7.1.
Now i cant understand will moto update this to P or Q .
Sent from my Moto Z2 Force using XDA Labs
Z2 Force will definitely get P. It would be a HUGE mistake and disrespect for the "high end consumers" if Lenovo don't update it.
Probably we're going to skip 8.1 and go straight to 9.0.
That way they keep their promise of 2 Android's version update.
But I doubt that we will get Android Q.

Still the same patch  . No update , CC reports this is the latest update. The Moto Software Experience is far better in cheaper phones like G5S+ , Z/Z2 play and all:angel: eben they have got updated system apps with new icons like Dialer , Contacts , File manager etc.. and we still have the same ones from 2017

So a good phone like this with better specs. But gets nothing new or exciting. But the lower end phones gets all the glory.. I think Moto is backwards in that aspect.. Were as other like Samsung, LG, HTC will give better upgrades to higher end phones, then they will the lower to mid range ones.. I would also like to see more rom options for this phone. But hey it is what it is.. This is why I have only rooted, and debloated my phone.. Nothing to see here LOL.

This phone isn't so expensive anymore. Costs at the moment around 280€, so it's cheaper than Moto G6 Plus. Maybe that's why we get no android 8.1 or anything new. But android P we will get for sure. Or we can see it so, that we have a most stable phone. And new features maybe just for phones with good sales figures. Z2 Force is maybe not a box-office hit
And yes, I have paid more for this phone, too. But that's not the point, right?

Are you on Tmobile? Im still stuck on the May 1st security patch
Taking system updates
I'm rooted and running magisk manager on my Z2 Force (December 2017 security patch), does anyone know the steps I have to take to accept an OTA update?
It's currently unsuccessful when I try and I assume it's because I'm rooted, so I uninstalled magisk manager but it still won't successfully update. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for anyone's response!

You need to go back to stock. There is a thread for it. I'm not at my computer now so I can't link to it but look and you'll find it very easy to find. Then you will have to reboot again. You do not need to relock the bootloader

It Dosent depend on the current value , after months the Moto G6plus will be more cheaper than this. Also the Box price of this is much higher than Moto G6Plus and considering its a high end phone.
In India its still at ₹34999 and Moto Z (2016) at ₹29990.
Moto only considers the sale of the phone not the price segment.
