[Q] Corrupt Bootloader

Please help!
I am currently trying to root my TF701t on Jellybean but I appear to have corrupted my bootloader. I can boot into the bootloader and do a system wipe and boot Andoid, but when I select the RCK option I end up with the Android image on its back.
I have downloaded CWM 6.0.4.6 and tried to apply the recovery.img file via Minimal ADB and Fastboot command prompt only to be greeted with "cannot load "recovery.img" Result too large".
To be clear the system boots normally and fuctions perfectly - this is strictly a bootloader issue which has been unlocked successfully.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies in advance if either the solution to this has been posted elsewhere or I have not given you the information you require to help.

You need to fastboot recovery from the bootloader.
When you reboot into the bootloader do not select RCK. RCK is the recovery, I don't think the default one can do anything, you just get the android on it's back.
So it should be reboot into bootloader and then don't touch your tablet.
Then from your pc fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Make sure you are also on a 4.3 bootloader before you fastboot flash CWM 6.0.4.6.
The instructions above are correct
To flash a recovery you need to have the fastboot.exe file and cwm recovery.img file in the same folder.
Right click + shift on the folder they are in and choose open command prompt here
Boot into the Bootloader by either booting with the Power and Volume Down Buttons held down until you get the 3 icons or by typing the following into the command prompt.

Then type the following commands to flash the recovery image:

fastboot reboot-bootloader
Start the recovery by making sure the RCK icon is highlighted (use volume down to move) and push volume up to select.

In Windows 7 you can just navigate to the folder with explorer and in the address bar type cmd and hit enter
Opens a command prompt in the correct folder

Well.......this is very embarrassing.
I have rooted and installed custom roms on my last 3 phones including the my new Nexus 5 without any problems at all. I simply followed the instructions posted by the developers. At the same time I used to take the piss out of the other posters who raised queries because they hadn't followed the instructions. What do I do? Exactly that.
Please accept my apologies sbdags as it is your rom I am installing and thank you to You & Sleeepy2 for posting polite and prompt replys without having a go at me for not following your instructions.
Problem solved I am now rooted!

Unlock Bootloader for zenfone laser 5.5/5.5s/6 marshmallow

Additionally, you must have a windows PC.
Install USB drivers for your Asus Zenfone 2 Laser.
Goto Settings -> About and tap multiple times continuously on “Build number” to active “Developer options” and then goto Settings -> Developer options and enable “Usb debugging” option.

How to unlock Bootloader & Root Asus Zenfone 2 Laser :
1.Download all the above tools & transfer all the Apk files in your device.
2. Now Install Bootloaderunlocker.apk in Your Device.
3. open bootloaderunlocker and follow on screen instructions.
4. Extra ‘ADB Fastboot Tool.rar’
How to Install TWRP Recovery in Zenfone 2 Laser
1. On your pc install adb drivers and open the application, connect your zenfone to your pc, in adb driver it will show if the driver are installed or not, if not just click install and wait for it to finish installing.
2. Move twrp.img into extracted ‘ADB Fastboot Tool.rar’ folder.
3. Now in ADB Fastboot folder open command windows by Pressing Shift+Right click –> open command winnows here.
4. Now Enter the Following command in Command Window.
adb devices
It will return your device code which confirms you have installed all the files properly.
5. Now to reboot your device into Fastboot mode which allows flashing files, enter the below command in command prompt. or else you can Manually Reboot To Fastboot Mode By Switching off Your Phone And Press Volume Up + Power Key Together.
adb reboot bootloader
5. Now to flash the TWRP recovery, just enter the below command.
For ZOOL devices
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-4-Z00L.img
For ZOOT devices
Fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-4-Z00T.img
IF YOU WANT TO ROOT YOUR STOCK MARSHMALLOW JUST FLASH SUPERSU.ZIP PROVIDED ABOVE.
NOTE: If you want to flash cm13/cm14.1/rr or any customized rom do an advance wipe in twrp.(Reboot To Twrp Mode By Switching off Your Phone And Press Volume down + Power Key Together. on twrp choose wipe/advance and mark the following system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.

i didn't know that there is app unlocking bootloader for marshmallow

Not work for me.
I installed the bootloader unlock app and tried to unlock
but it failed and says 'an unknown error occurs which maybe a network connection issue'.But my wifi is working correctly. Please help me to unlock my bootloader. I really need to unlock my bootloader because I don't want to stay in stock rom anymore.

The problem with this suggestion, however well intentioned, is that the user said they were stuck at the boot logo - so they couldn't go to settings in the phone - cause it doesn't complete bootup in the first place.
I'm in the same situation (stuck at LeEco boot screen) and stumbled on this thread hoping there would be a solution...

I have unlocked my bootloader and when I try to install TWRP recovery and open a cmd write the commands 'adb devices' and "fastboot devices" to check whether connected or not it shows connected then reboot to to bootloader but when I put command "fastboot flash recovery recovery. img" I get " cannot load recovery. Img" . I also downloaded the latest TWRP victara and adb, fastboot aswell but can't get what problem is please Help guys!!!

So you got the latest ADB and Fastboot:

Extract ADB and Fastboot, and put the TWRP img file in the same folder, start command prompt as Admin and Change Directory to where the files are:
cd C:\Users\User\Downloads\platform-tools (this is just an example)
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-0-victara.img
Boot into recovery immediately.

Did you install the Motorola USB Drivers?

Did you type the full name of the img file, including .img

You must write fasstboot flash recovery (full name of the file ot rename it).img.
When is finished not take off the cable and run recovery from device bootloader.
Thats it.

This thread is intended to get a fully working twrp for our new device sooner than later by more of us participating.
This is a testing thread so YES ANYTHING CAN GO WRONG. But most likely will not go wrong..

Install guide:
Actually seems "fastboot boot twrp.img" is not working so we need to use another guide:
1. Install fastboot tools from google's sdk on your PC
2. Enter fastboot mode
3. Unlock your bootloader
4. Now you should check which slot are you using with this command "fastboot getvar current-slot"
5. Now you should change the slot in use with this command "fastboot --set-active=*" you should replace with the slot is not in use, for example if you are using slot a the command will be "fastboot --set-active=b"
6. Now you should flash the twrp in the boot partion using this command "fastboot flash boot twrp.img"
7. Now reboot the device with in recovery mode scrolling the menu with the volume button and selecting "Recovery Mode" with the power button
8. First thing go in reboot menu and restore the old active slot
9. Now you can flash the installer (Actually you can do it using sideload, start sideload server from twrp advanced menu and from pc use this command "adb sideload twrpinstaller.zip")
If you are already rooted, you can skip all and directly flash the installer like a magisk module. Always remember that after you flashed the installer you will be unrooted.
Tips:
If you alread have a twrp flashed you can only flash the new installer zip or the new installation method to update your TWRP (remember to flash again magisk or your system will not boot).
If you have some problems with backup, like 255 error or something similar please check this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/one...e-999-t3801632
For the Bacups use always "system_image" and "vendor_image" instead of "system" and "vendor".
I need the following logs in order to find issues.
start a terminal window and enter below commands to get the logs
When TWRP boots enter below commands in terminal:

adb pull /tmp/recovery.log
adb shell "dmesg" > dmesg.log
adb logcat > logcat.txt

Where are the logs. Please don't test and not provide logs. But thanks for informing test 0.3 doesn't work.
