Anyway to root from Boot (with Zip file)? - SuperSU

hi, this is my Tab: http://mercury-mobile.com/index.php/en/products/tablets/tablets-wifi/view/productdetails/virtuemart_product_id/9/virtuemart_category_id/4
ABOUT TABLET:
model num: M100
Android Version: 4.4.2
Kernal Version: 3.4.67
Build Number: M100_20140819
i want to root it via boot manu, with zip file. i rooted galaxy 2 with a file called "CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip" and i would like to do that on my tab.
anyone knows a way to do that?
i prefer rooting with a file rather then something like kingroot or such sofwares.
thank you.

If you are using a custom ROM, you can flash the SuperSU zip file and you'll get root.

[Q] HELP Cannot install or remove ROOT.

Hi
I'm using an at&t samsung galaxy s4 active I used
Model number" SAMSUNG-SGH-I537
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband Version: I537UCUCNH3
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-2638177
What I tried?
1) Tried to install superuser, after installing superuser, its asking for binary files, which I'm not able to find anywhere.
According to root checker the phone is rooted.
2) Then I tried downloading "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.16.zip" to my
external storage and tried fastboot, but that one also didnt work, the phone went into factory reset and the entire software got re installed.
Please can anyone Help??

This method is the only way to root NH3 (the firmware version your phone is on). Make sure to download the correct files

Canadian Users (G900W8) Discussion

Please use this thread to discuss our variant of the Galaxy S5.

Current Android version: 5.1.1
Current firmware version: G900W8VLU1COI4 (Download links available at The Android Soul or SamMobile)
Rootable? Yes (Requires patched 5.1.1 stock kernel and SuperSU beta. Details in post #2 of this thread.)
Xposed? Yes (Requires custom Xposed framework created by wanam. Details here.)
\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \
[HOWTO] Root your G900W8 stock 5.1.1 firmware :)
Prerequisites: this procedure requires TWRP or CWM recovery. If you have 100% pure stock installed - you need to flash it first using PC Odin (use *.tar(.md5) version). NOTE: Custom recovery and/or custom kernel will trip your KNOX flag!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rooting procedure:
1. Download patched kernel and the latest SuperSU (2.52+):
>> KERNEL_G900W8VLU1COI4_Stock_patched.zip <<
>> SuperSU BETA by @Chainfire <<
2. Copy both zip files to phone or extSdCard
3. Go to TWRP / CWM and flash both files one by one. Order does not matter
4. Reboot the phone.
5. Enjoy your rooted 5.1.1 firmware
Credits: @Chainfire for his awesome work, especially for SuperSU app/binaries and THIS method.
Please quote this post and attach new boot.img to your post if a new firmware will be released. I will path new kernel and update this post :good:
@_alexndr Done! I've pointed it to your post in this thread instead of the old link.
(Thanks for your info by the way, I'd be lost without root!)
any way to make zip flashable compatible with 900F? tried here... bootloop, hispian kernel/stock patched
Hello, I was wondering if its possible to downgrade to kitkat? Im in 5.0 right now...and will it trip knox when I downgrade?

If you haven't tripped Knox, it won't trip if you downgrade. Easiest way is downloading a stock KitKat ROM and flashing it via Odin. Lots of guides for that on xda and around the web. You can even do it through Kies.

Another question, for example I want to downgrade to 4.4.2 to use towelroot, is that possible? If yes, what firmware should I download? There is a june and april firmwares...
Any reason why knox should be kept 0. My warranty already expired and its not like the s5 can use Samsung pay without that mfe? chip.
Also can someone debloat deodexed root the latest fw intoma flashable zip...I'd likemtp keep itmas stock as possible. Thanks.

How did you install the recovery? If you're on a stock ROM, you can download a TWRP .tar version which you can then flash through Odin (google for instructions if you don't know how).
That's how I did it, then I followed the steps to root 5.1.1.

Nope didnt work just used odin no luck still. I even tried clearing the cache.
EDIT: Fixed the issue just rooted my phone
Here's how to instal the recovery(For those who are confused)
Noteut stuff on sd card from page 1 on how to root if you want root and follow its steps after this.(Cause you need recovery for rooting)
1.Download cf auto root but DONT use the rom thing it comes with.
2.Run odin that came with cf auto root
3.Dowload TWRP from here (Get newest tar version) https://dl.twrp.me/klte/
4.Click pda button and make sure its checked and select the twrp u downloaded. Also make sure auto reboot is not checked and make sure re-partition is not checked.
5.Plug phone into pc and make it go into download mode(Turn off phone Hold volume down, hold home and power)
6.Click start in odin
7.DONT turn off phone after odin says phone is done
8. Hold power, home and volume up next(May have to re-hold when screen changes)
9.DONE
Thanks to this thread. I've been searching the s5 forum for our Canadian model and I found this. I am currently running 5.1.1 by following the OP post. Aside from this upgrade, Do you guys know of any modded ROM that will run and compatible with 5.1.1 G900W8? Thanks a lot

Check post #2 of the official Xposed for Lollipop thread. Use the table to identify the correct Xposed version by yourself. Android 5.0.x is SDK21, whereas Android 5.1.x is SDK22. Android 6.0.x is SDK23.

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini G800F Android 5.1.1 Root - how to do it?

Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to root Samsung Galaxy S5 mini G800F Android 5.1.1. I only found options to perform a root with either G800H instead of G800F or on Android 4.2.2 instead of 5.1.1....
In other threads similiar questions occured but however remained unanswered. I hope someone can help me out.
Thank you
Best regards

yepp, above chainfire works like a charm with 5.1.1.
This time I flashed 5.1.1 without factory reset over 4.4.2 with odin. then chainfire, then twrp. no probs whatsoever. every app and setting seem to work without having to start from scratch
are you sure it's for android 5.1.1 bobbobagan ?

I already tried to installed the latest beta version of SuperSU installed it using TWRP but its not working
please anyone help me how to root this

Nico,
I came across your thread multiple times in search for how to root mine. I ended with going to the autroot chainfire site and following the instructions there. The package was listed for the SM-t350 on 5.0.2 but I can confirm it worked on 6.0.1 stock .
Cheers

You have to be extremely careful because there is a Lollipop and Marshmallow version of this device. I cannot give a link to the correct thread, but there is a thread on XDA that has a Marshmallow guide.
Basically you just flash with Odin, I used TWRP version twrp_3.0.2-1_sm-t350_mm_9816
Before you flash make sure you are in dev mode so Knox does not screw with you. have your SuperSU flash Zip on your SD card, I used UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323
Boot into recovery, select install and chose the file I said above. It will flash and Root your device as a system root.
