I accidentally deleted the socialhub ap with TBU. Now, facebook won't link to my phone contacts. Is there any other way to link Facebook pictures / info to phone contacts? If not, is there any way I can restore it / reinstall it (if someone could provide an APK?). I do not want to flash a ROM as I'm new to the Android scene and am now confident enough to do it yet. I have the phone rooted, however. Thanks for any advice in advance.

I believe I do. I've been able to install .apks downloaded from elsewhere than the Market, that means sideloading is enabled, correct?
Someone else may have a better way but the link below is for a flashable version of the jh7 ota. Dl it to your pc. Unzip it. Look in system apps. Find social hub. Copy it to your desktop. Move it to your phone. Install

Thanks for the link. What exactly is the JH7 OTA? I'll give this a shot.
Jh7 ota is the update at&t sent out a ways back. This is a flashable package of the update. I gave you the link because it should have the apk you need in it

I would not flash the package. But the app should be ok

Take a look at that and try rooting using flashrec. I'm not 100% sure but theoretically it should be okay. Where it tells you to download the recovery grab this version HERE

So you don't have market with version 1.0? To be honest never used it personally so no idea. If it has no market then simply upgrade (or as the guides tell you downgrade) to cupcake v1.5. Maybe I'm missing something but not sure what the hassle is?

It's the Google Services Framework application. Should I reflash the Google Apps image or something? Or is this something I can fix by doing something..? I think it's because I renamed the zip file gapps.zip. Can I just leave the original file name the way it is and flash it?

It doesn't matter what you call it, it will flash.
It's just a bad flash by the sounds of things, go here and download a new copy and re-flash.

it is supposed to be the stock firmware for the revolution which would allow you to flash your system back to stock.
I have scanned the file and there are 3 files contained inside. I have not been able to extract them however. There are 3 img files inside which tally some 700+ meg.

I have not found a way to extract the embedded files either. This is used with a Verizon only tool that is readily available. I wouldn't recommend flashing this unless you brick or destroy your phone (as a last result).

It's a program called: LGNPST. You can Google it and you will find a few download locations.
I looked everywhere to find out how to load this, can somebody with lg experience point me in the right direction. im coming from a droid x, i would just sbf to restore a phone; that was easy
LGPNST does not support this device yet that I know of.
Verizon has a tool as well but I don't think it works with TOT files.

Yeah, you have to have the proper DLL, and we haven't found it yet. Cubed said he'd have a stock ROM out here shortly.
After that, he plans to deodex and release a cleaned version of stock (debinged)

Hi,
this is the factory soft provided by LG to update VS910.
[LGDP2V42]only_VS910_20110430_download
but this soft need a protection dongle (need to be attached to PC) to run. LG Service Centers have this. It will be intersting if someone can find something useful from it.
I don't know if it works or not but...
http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/showthread.php/1384-How-load-TOT-file-with-LGNPST-LAB.1.2
So i guess in LGNPST, you just click browse, then put *.* in file name, hit enter, then select your .tot.
The problem isnt getting the software its the fact that unlike motorola the lg program requires a device specific .dll file so without that file the flash software and firmware are really of no use

I was trying to do the multiwindow mod on my Nexus 6 and found this flashable zip file. Once I flashed it it didnt work and my phone wont connect to data services. My carrier is Sprint. Id appreciate if anyone can upload a stock build.prop. Also will factory reset work? or anything through adb shell restore it? Could it have messed with my radio? Even though all it did was modify my build.prop
Not sure if this will work, I'm on AT&T.
You might have to remove the OEM stuff at the top of the file (Notepad++ will do that).
If I could figure out how, I'd extract the stock 5.1.1 system.img and give you the one from there.
This is from AT&T rooted, stock 5.1.1

I've followed the instructions on how to pull the OTA files for my S5 Active on AT&T (G870A). I have the file as a .zip and it seems to have the right things for an update in the archive. Size is 929MB.
TL;DR - See reply #7 for download link.
My AndroidFileHost account is not for a developer, so I can't upload yet. I've requested access to upload. I'm currently uploading to Google Drive, but it will about an hour until that is completed. I'll follow up tomorrow, but the end is in sight. I'm running 6.0.1 on my S5 Active and it seems to be doing alright. Definitely less bloatware than the 5.1.1 build.
I will post updates to this thread as I have them.
Edit: same bloatware
My ISP keeps taking me offline about 200MB into the upload to Google Drive. Maybe they think I'm torrenting Mr. Robot S2E9 or something. I'll try dropbox next or wait for AndroidFileHost to give me upload rights.
You can split file using WinRAR.
Right click on your file and select "Add files to archive"
In the opened window, give a new name to your to-be-split file (e.g. G870A_6.rar). Under "Compression Method", select "Store".
Input your desired value inside "Split to volumes, bytes" box, about 100-200Mb
Click OK and you're done.

I wouldn't split the files, considering it's a file that needs to be flashed, too many opportunities for corruption.
With that said, I think Dropbox is your best choice. You could also give zippyshare a shot, it's a fairly popular hosting site with straight forward downloads (ie. No misdirection on download buttons, pop-ups, etc).
Edit
Also, thanks a ton for this, I've been waiting and waiting for someone to upload a zip of the Ota for the Active.
I was able to use the desktop Google Drive sync and I believe the file is intact. Uploading via HTTP is not very reliable.
I'm checking the link now before posting it. Should be ready in an hour or so.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, or if you'd be willing, but it'd be nice to get a checksum created from your original capture. Then we could download the uploaded capture and checksum to verify it's intact.
Here you go
I downloaded on my Mac and unzipped. The archive seems intact. For your flashing pleasure...

Now that I finally have the option, I'm really debating whether I'm ready to lose root or not. Another thing, since I'm on of3, I'm not even certain I can use this to update, as you have to be on pa2, 3, or 6?
I no longer have AT&T, nor have those updates been released as flashable zips, so maybe I don't have an option after all. Lol

I was in the same boat. I had to plug in an AT&T SIM to let it get the update. It was on PB5, so it had to go to PB6 and then PH2. I didn't think to try to recover the PB6 update. Sorry.

You guys can try, my guess is it will fail, I'm in the same boat, think we need to be on pb* for it to flash.
Give it a shot and report back, quite a few people are curious, myself included. Worst case, it'll fail and you have to reboot.
Edit
I should add, I would try, but I'm still on of3 and not certain I want to lose root, but you guys already have. If it works, I'll definitely contemplate updating. Good luck!
How would you actually flash this? adb sideload? Put on device and install via recovery? I'm in the same boat and currently stuck on OC5 in Germany without ATT service.

I was on PB5 originally and it wouldn't update. I took an AT&T SIM out of another phone and let it run through the update path. The first thing it went to was PB6 which was 200MB+. The AT&T site mentions that it has to be one of those three to get the update to PH2. After that, the big download started.

I tried that already, filename doesn't really matter. I looked into the files itself and this update is mostly patches from a previous version so unless you're on one of the approved previous versions this probably won't work unfortunately.
Does anyone have any pointers towards the other OTA updates? If I knew I could just order an AT&T Sim card and proceed through them I would extract every single one of them myself and post them here. Unfortunately I don't even know if an AT&T card will do anything useful here in Germany.

I have scoured every corner of the internet looking for those files, to no avail. And unfortunately, you are correct, I don't believe that it would do any good in Germany.
I'm glad I at least have root, for those stuck on oj3, I'd be pretty upset. Anybody able to get us a required pb* Ota capture, please do, you'd be a hero!
