The music player on my new P9 does not display foreign extended characters correctly. Even when I select the correct language - which should not be necessary - it displays a mix of all sorts of characters including Chinese.
Do other people experience this problem?
I have tried at least a dozen of other players and all of them could display song titles correctly.

Hi There,
In my TouchFlow3D Music Tab, I am getting a very weird bug where the Music Library can read and display some info, but not other info. For example, as you can see in the attached screen shots, I can see my Albums, Artists, Composers, and Genres, but any display that shows song titles and artists is completely lacking information and only displays "Title/Text".
Even weirder is that the main TF3D Tab Display (CoverFlow-Style) displays the info with no problem at all. In fact, even if I click on one of the Title/Text Songs to play from the Library, when it loads into the main player, the info is right there.
And, the library looks fine in Windows Media Player.
What is going on?
Same here but even worst, first some of my music files disapeared from TouchFlow3D Music Tab, now some playlist, others are doubled with one empty. Any comments?
Mine shows music but not album art.
Since a few days ago, when I sync music onto my Diamond (I use WMP since I convert my MP3s to WMA), the album tracks are always mixed up. My previous syncs kept the album listings intact, but now they're random.
Does anyone know what causes this problem and if there's any solutions? Thanks.
EDIT: Does the TF3D Music Tab follow music tags? I'm assuming it isn't for some of my music since I have it properly tagged for track listings.
Track order...
I use WMA as I've always used Media Player when ripping my CD's to my PC. You're right, the tracks do get mixed up with HTC's music player (it may be the tags, I don't know... perhaps they assume we're all MP3 users!).
The best way to sync them (in my opinion), is to first create a new playlist within Windows Media Player (name it the same as the album), drag whichever album it is you want on your device into the playlist (the right hand pane in media player), then drag the playlist you've just created into the sync window (rather than the album itself). This will keep your tracks in the order they're meant to be in.
You may also need to rename the album art on your device because Windows Media Player sometimes calls the art Album_Art{blah, blah, blah...}, which admitedly seems a very descriptive file name for what it is, but HTC's Music Player won't recognise it, so the album art needs to be renamed 'Folder'.
Sorry for the long-winded answer. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the tip. Seems to help.
I still wonder what causes this to happen, gets annoying.
I had the same problem with my albums. I found out that TF3D sorts the music files by their track number tag.
So check your track tag, and number the tracks the way you want them to be sorted.
Hi, does anyone know how to resolve this issue properly? I mean, How to list and play WMA album tracks on Diamond correctly by track number? Because for MP3 it works fine, why for WMA not? File names and Tags are ok and works perfect in WMP, thanx for infos...
a quick question, how do you change the background wallpaper in the music and videos hub? My hd7 has picked an album art as the background but I can't find anyway to change it!?
Thanks
It displays an image of the last played artist. You can't change it manually.
Hiya
I have the same issue. The Music and Videos hub picked a picture of Michael Jackson when I first synced music onto the phone and has not changed since. I have listened to several different artists since but no change.
I like Michael Jackson's early albums and have Thriller, Bad and Off the Wall on my phone. All good. But, the photo on my background is one of his post post post op images where he looks like a strange hybrid of himself. Bad.
Oh well, I may do a hard reset and then listen to Sheryl Crow right away so that I have someone nicer to look at when browsing my music ;-)
try streaming a common artist over Zune Pass, and that may change it
I've noticed that the last Artist played over Zune Marketplace, like previewing a song shows up in the image. I've played my Zune's collection plenty of times but only the last artist played via Market shows up.
Play an artist, whether it be from your personal collection or from the Marketplace. Once the song starts playing, and you see the artist's background image appear, hit the Start button to get back to the Start screen and the music+videos panel should change to reflect that artist.
It seems that the music+videos panel's background photo only updates when you exit the music+videos hub. So if you exit the player while playing a song with no background image, the hub panel will not update and will continue to reflect whatever artist you played last that had an image when you last exited the player.
Otherwise the change is automatic and you cannot customize what background image it displays. Unless you manually play your artist and then immediately exit.
How come mine do not show the current song album cover as background, both at live tile and on the music+video hub? I already downloaded zune SW to my pc and was able to sync (thru USB) my personal music collection to phone. I currently do not have subcription to zune pass but I already activated my zune profile that's linked to windows live ID. Any suggestion how to activate the album cover on both live tile and hub?
Thanks!
Good Day to all,
I have recently purchase a Galaxy Note.
Model: GT-N7000
Andriod: 2.3.5
My problem is that I have a few songs where the file names and id3 tags are in Chinese.
When I playback them, the phone displays gibberish. The audio is fine, but it makes looking for the song which I want a pain.
Is there any adjustments in settings or apps I should install?
Thank you in advance.
Please change your MP3 id3 tags to utf-8 encode, this is common problem of many downloaded mp3s
Thanks for the information.
Any recommendations on how to change the encoding?
foobar2000
use that software to batch convert mp3 tags to UTF-8 or w/e your choice is.
MUSIC PLAYER is an app of the stock ICS system, which plays by default when you use a headset.
There's a LYRIC button, but i don't know how to get it working, however and wherever i put the lyrics file.
Anyone have a guide? pls...
no native support for embedded lyrics
The problem is that Android 4.0/4.1 does not yet natively read the ID3 lyrics tag. I put in a new feature request that would give Android the ability to read the ULT and USLT ( lyrics ) ID3 tags. This will allow the native and 3rd party music players to display lyrics, like the iOS and Windows Phone players currently can.
If you want this feature in Android, please let Google know by star'ing the request below:
