Guys i am facing a problem that after fresh install of any Rom, my N920I works very fast on data connection but as I install my routine software's I see that data becomes very slow.
I have installed speed meter and I can see that no app is using data but even then the performance of browsing is much slow. I have come to this observation after a long time. I had Note 3 as well which had same issue.
It this a known thing for Samsung devices. What can be done to fix this.

Loaded Scoot CyanogenMod 7 Alpha RLS1 on Vogue. The text and phone work but I can's get the data to work. Does anyone know why this would be? Thanks
Has anyone had this working on the Sprint network?
I didn't have a problem with it. Wasn't stable enough for me though.

Data works fine on the Sprint network, from what I understand there is a bug in GB that effects 3G data. You have to toggle the data connection after a phone calls (made, recieved, and missed) to restore the data connection. Personally, I automated this process using tasker to toggle the data connection based on phone idle.
I did not have to do that when running it. The only issues I had were stability (it crashed fairly often, especially if you tried to use the camera).
If anything, the data felt faster than Froyo. The market was especially fast.
Thanks guys. Has anyone been able to install this rom to a sd card? I have had success with all the other rom's I just can't get this one to take.
Dude this is sick. I just flashed on my Vogue,I am loving it. I can not believe the dev work being done on this platform. It is right there with what is being done on my D2 and my nook. Thanks again, you're making this fin to own again.

Hey thanks for posting that! I didn't realize that's what was causing my problems with data.
I've got the same issue but only for my browser. All other apps get data just fine but in the browser all I can get to is Google

I have recently s-off my Incredible S and everything has gone good, I managed to flash Cyanogen Mod 7.1 and also MIUI 2.4.6 both downloaded from the Chinese and the German websites and MIUI ICS port. And they all share a common problem where they do connect to Wi-Fi but the speed at which pages load and downloads take place is slow. I have tried different versions of Tiamat Kernel and LorD ClockaN (lordmodUEv8.5-CFS-VIVO-2.0) and the problem still persists. I flashed back to default ROM and the problem also was there but in the Wi-Fi settings under advanced there is an option "best wi-fi performance" after selecting it the pages loaded quickly. Is there any known solution that could help, thanks in advance.
also when I perform Speed Test using the app, it shows that I have 5 mb/s speed that i should be having, and the router is 2 to 3 meters away.
I'm sure you already know but if the browsing is fast then the problem's with download can be that its the server problem!!

I will try some sense ROM's let's see how that goes.
Hello everyone, I'm having a weird problem which has been happening for quite a while now, basically stock ROM using speed-test app 20-30Mb/s download speed AWESOME
Now when using custom ROMS (So far Cyanogenmod and Viperone) my download speed is limited to 2Mb/s youtube stutters, pages load slow etc pretty much a pain since its a smart phone that uses a lot of internet, now it gets weirder, no matter what my download is locked to my upload speed always stays a nice healthy 10Mb/s, even weirder still is if I reboot the phone for the first 3-4 minutes of being back on download speed is back to normal (20-30Mb/s)
Even weirder still is when using Android Revolution HD (ARHD) my WiFi still works perfectly, so what ever ARHD and the stock from have in common my WiFi must agree with it! As far as troubleshooting I've done clean installs, I've even made my router run only in 2.4GHz
Someone please help I don't wanna be stuck on one custom ROM when there is so many to try
please provide some more details
which Android?
have you tried updating your firmware?
I always make sure I have the newest, happened with 4.2/4.3/4.4 base firmwares
have you tried unchecking "WiFi Optimization" in WiFi?

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I am experiencing similar issues, albeit with a different device (OnePlus 3).
Only the stock Oxygen Rom gives good Wifi tethering performance, but trying Cyanogenmod, Bliss, etc. all give the same 1-2Mbps speeds like you described.
Did you ever figure out the issue?
Are (were) you on T-Mobile US by chance?
TIA.
I upgraded from 5.0.1 to 5.1 and immediately starting noticing WiFi and data issues and also performance issues I gave it a day and tryed multiple things to fix. So I'm the end I went back down to 5.0.1.. I was getting benchmarks of over 53000 on 5.0.1 and when I went to 5.1 it was less than my opo around 44000. I know benchmarks don't mean much but it is a big difference. Was wondering if anyone was having these problems?
I also noticed that there was two different 5.1 images. Is there a difference in the two?
Yes, I'm facing issues with WiFi after upgrading to 5.1. WiFi seems to freeze and Internet connection stops working. Turning WiFi off and on again solves the problem, but is very annoying.

Yeah same thing got very annoying and then even that didn't work where I would have to do what u did plus reset my router
But after going back down phones fast as hell again and no issues
I just bought a second hand Tmobile Note 4.
- I have problems with mobile data, including browsing, play store... actually everything. It's kinda slow and stuck to load the contents and the 4G/3G signals itself is not stable
- Wifi connection is very fast.
- I Downgrade to Kitkat, the problem is the same.
Then I try CMRemix Rom and everything turns out to be fast as it should.
Anyone knows what caused slow mobile data , I believe there something to do with modem or software conflict.
I don't wanna use custom rom because I can not use spen with it.
Please let me know if you have same problem and how to solve it.
Thanks
