Can Gear 2 NEO be updated to android ware?

Is it possible that Samsung could update the galaxy gear 2 neo to android ware?

Samsung Gear and Samsung s3 mini

Hi guys! I have Samsung galaxy s3 mini and i want to buy samsung gear. Can i pair this with my s3 mini? On s3 mini i have android 4.1.2 (i can flash/root it) and i haven't got nfc. On this phone i have Gear Manager. Can i pair this devices or i must buy smarwatch 2?

You should already be at least on Android 4.3. And without Nfc you can forget it.
