Getting rid of custom icon after unrooting Note 7? - T-Mobile Note 7 Questions & Answers

I just unrooted my Note 7 to return it but the custom icon is still on the boot screen. How do I get rid of it?

It doesn't matter at this point: they have to be returned and accepted by the carrier/retailer if in US.
Odin the TMO firmware if you are really upright about it. But there shouldn't be an issue otherwise.

Nope ^^ This lol

It may not matter now but will in the future lol....aint no one wanna keep that custom icon after they unroot lol

unrooting is not the answer to this, you will have to odin the stock tmo firmware to get rid of the icon..... only way right now.

I agree with galaxyuser88. I was rooted and I just flashed back to stock and all evidence of root is gone including the custom icon on startup.

odin stock firmware (PGC) and then do a hard reset

As long aa you flash stock let it fully boot then set up then reboot should be gone

Yes you will be wiping everything when you flash the new firmware. It basically formats and re writes then new firmware. There is no need to switch back to US version. I am still on UK aswell with no plans of redoing to usa version.

I tried to Odin back to the US ROM and all I get is stuck on the Samsung screen on the gear. I even tried to go back to stock UK and same result. Everything flashes fine just won't get off the Samsung screen. Only way I can get the gear to work again is to Odin the recovery and flash null. Am I missing something?

[Q] how to flash to a clean debloated 4.4.2 rom

Hi Guys,
I am fairly new to the Android system. I have unfortunately accepted the 4.4.2 update so I believe rooting is out of question for now. However, the phone seems to be loosing battery power too fast now after the update and there is a constant "message expired or not available" pop-up message in the lower section of the screen. The phone works well in the safe mode. So I assume there was something wrong with the update.
I feel like it would be good to update again to a clean version of rom, debloated of the ATT stuff, I just want the phone to work well and I do use the S-apps from samsung so I want those. How do I do it?
Thanks!
- P

[Q] Return to Fresh ouf of the Box!! aka stock!

I need to return my phone to out of the box fresh. I've been reading and searching and I'm finding info about Odin and MJ5, but I'm not sure which I need to do. The only thing I've done to my phone is root it (then unroot it) with Kingo. I unrooted it, so I could apply the stock 4.4.2 upgrade, but it fails. So now I want to return it to its original state so I can try the upgrade again. I want to keep it close to stock, because I need to use phone encryption so I can use it for work as well. I really need someone to point me in the right direction.

Thanks!! It's really involved, but I completed and it and now my phone is running 4.4. If anyone else tries it, makes sure you follow every step.
This my sound like a dumb question, but I am going to as any way. I bought a used note 3 and the previous owner had rooted it and installed saftystrap and installed a rom to the stock slot but made no back up. I searched but could not find stock 4.2.2 firmware. Any one know where I could find it. My phone is working great but would still like the option of having the stock files just incase. thanks in advance for the help.

[Q] Is it possible to flash a SM-N910T with a SM-N910F rom?

I came a across a used SM-N910T that I was going to purchase, but I checked out the software and it's running SM-N910F software.
Is this possible?
The IMEI under About Device matched the paper IMEI underneath the battery, but the SN didn't match and was 1234567890ABCDEF.
Everything else on the phone checks out to me a REAL Note 4, but there's so many FAKES/COUNTERFEIT out there, I wanted to double check.
Is it possible to revert this SM-N910T flashed with SM-N910F back to stock?
You can try Odin and the stock firmware from sammobile.

So IT IS possible that somebody flashed the SM-N910T with a SM-910F ROM? And I can just flash back a stock SM-N910T and get it back to factory?

Yes, I did just that messing around with a n910t. It was bricked when I got it so I was just seeing what I could do. It was already broke so I flashed with odin the f ver and it booted. Well then I really did not want to flash back because now I had a working note 4. Anyway, I did flash back and all is well. Note 4 rockin. Hope this helps.
Please what are the steps required to jump from N910T to N910F, I've tried and tried without success. I'm on 5.1.1. And i really want to jump to N910F. Pls help. Thanks.

Stable S6 ROM

I am new to rooting and flashing custom ROMS. I have an AT&T Galaxy S6 and I want to know what's the cleanest and most stable way I can root this device and install a custom ROM? I have been having issues since I received an over the air update from AT&T, and even when I reboot my phone to factory settings that update still gets pushed through. So my choice now is get a new phone or try a custom ROM and see if that helps.

If you're on a 6.x att rom (likely since you're talking about an update) you are out of luck for root.
