Bricked OP3? - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi
I was going back to unrooted stock. I had rooted, unlocked stock 3.2.2 with twrp recovery. I followed a guide to get it back to stock. This is what I did: Loaded into fastboot to find the device, sure it was there. Flashed stock recovery, went ok. Locked the bootloader, ok. But when I am going into sideload to flash the stock rom, adb says "device not found"! It's found in fastboot, so what wrong?
Thx in advance

the easiest way is to download the official rom from oneplus downloads section (not the signed ones from forums) and flash it through twrp. it will reinstall stock and revert recovery back to stock. after that you can use fastboot oem lock to lock the bootloader.

Ok thx
Then I have to flash twrp again. I'm not getting into the phone, it's not starting up. Right now I'm not having any rom on my device so I can't get the rom to my device.
I should have done as you said in the first place.

After you reflash twrp (boot into twrp after reflashing) just connect your phone to your pc. It opens up in mtp mode so you can copy the rom to phone after that.

It takes som time to download the rom. The bootloader is now locked so I guess I'll have to unlock it before I can flash trwp, right?

i am in a quiet similar situation( i reflash the recovery because i wasn't able to restore a nandroid, but doesn't work), whit the request of a password when i start the phone. How do you solve it, please?
Edit: It's better go to sleep for me... However for who need a answer, the password is the one that unlock the screen

[Q] Please help, I cannot flash CWM.

I've rooted using D00MLord's method, fine. But no matter how I try, I cannot flash CWM. Can anybody talk me through it step by step please?
I've come from a GSII and it was so simple, and now this.

you need adb drivers, usb 2.0 port...uknown sources and usb debug must be enabled and you need to grant SU permissions when asked. After that you can enter CWM by pressing vol - button several times after you turn it on
I cannot get it on my phone, I've followed the instructions perfectly yet it won't flash in flash mode. Doesn't flash in fastboot like it suggests either. When I try to flash in fastboot it says I need to be rooted first. I am.

To install cwm you don't put phone-in flash mode.
You need phone switched on,connect phone to PC,run the bat file on PC,follow on screen prompts, grant root/su permission, reboot phone cwm installed.

You can either go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...recovery-twrp-2-8-2-0-touch-recovery-t2979149 or download it directly at http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/275. Choose the fastboot method at the bottom of the twrp website.
Thanks for your reply. I wanted to install cm12 to get a taste of lollipop. But i installed the ota that was captured for the xt1068 without root or unlocking my my bl. Ill wait for a while before trying this out. Maybe until the devs make cm12 more stable for our devices.

That would be my recommendation too, at least cm12 related. But you definitely should install twrp so you can make a full nandroid-backup of your device. Never underestimate the usefulness of a backup. You make a backup of stock-recovery and install twrp with Flashify. So you can go back to stock recovery if a new ota arrives.

No. It's a feature that has to be integrated into the kernel. You can read about it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57601888

You can try the app Helium from playstore or you can make a backup with ADB,code would be:
adb backup -all -system
To restore the backup, connect your device via ADB and:
Code:
adb restore <filename.ab>

The path where your fastboot.exe resides
i seem to be doing something wrong over here.
I placed the openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-titan in the folder where fastboot.exe and adb.exe reside.
my phone was in fastboot mode then i opened a cmd window in the folder where fastboot.exe is and typed "fastboot flash recovery" and i dragged openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-titan into the cmd window and hit enter. I got
getvar : partition-type:recovery
getvar : max-download-size
download : 00978000
flash : recovery
Then i scroll to recovery and all i get it bootloader unlocked warning and a blank screen. wonder what im missing.
also got a problem.
i got twrp flashed, but i can not make a backup. after that disappointment i checked the app and it says "it seems we cant write to sd card properly …"
they want to patch this. but i am afraid that i can not get ota after that. is there a disadvantage ?
i always thought flashing recovery through fastboot would make the job... so why can i not do a backup.
either to internal nor sd card
edit sorry .. i found the QA

Nexus 6 stuck on bootup

My nexus 6 is soft bricked I'm assuming, I can't get past the 6.0.1 boot up screen it just keeps on booting . The device is unlocked with TWRP recovery but not rooted as far as I know it's not rooted. The only way I can check MTP is through twrp but it's showing an exclmation point in device mgr. I'm in wugs toolkit now under Advanced Utilities, before I got the boot logo it had the you're device is corrupt. I fixed the corrupt message by putting my device in boot loader mode and in Advanced Utilities under fastboot flash then I clicked Boot [Kernel] I flashed the stock kernel and that got rid of the corrupt device warning screen. I'm gonna try flashing a modified boot img next but I'm having trouble. I just need someone to stick with me for awhile and help me fix this thing because I gotta return it and I don't have long.

If TWRP is installed there's no problem. Just a matter of the pc let recognize the device. Quit the toolkits though!
Do you have google drivers installed? Once they are installed your device should be recognized and you can copy any of the fine roms that can be found here.

the corrupt device message is only there because you have twrp and a stock kernel. flash a custom kernel.
It's fixed, everything is running as it should no boot loops or corrupt screen, now I gotta check to see if recovery is gone. I used wugs to flash stock 6.0.1

I used to have the corrupt message also, but it would go away and boot just fine. Started when I had TWRP. As someone mentioned, if this is a really annoyance, just flash a custom kernel . Though mine went away when I rooted with SuperSU (which patches the kernel I think)

I used wugs toolkit to flash back to complete stock it worked my device is running as normal, but when I power of the device and power it back on the corrupt message then disappears and boots right up. When I boot into boot loader mode and boot recovery it shows the green android robot laying down. After I flashed back to stock 6.0.1 it got rid of twrp and root but I'm still unlocked . The unlocked part I'm not worried about. In order to fix this do I have to 're root and flash twrp all over again or is there an easier way. I need step by step, on how to get rid of the corrupt message. Example, like when someone says flash img to me that's about as clear as mud.....

i believe that your bootloader is unlocked, thats why its showing up on a non rooted n6. you can lock your bootloader(i wouldnt, you can have problems later) or you can flash twrp recovery, then a custom kernel, and you dont need to root it for that.

a stock twrp flashable, then theres no zip version of it available. BUT twrp can also flash .img kernels as well. if you have the factory image available, you can unzip it and just flash the boot.img in twrp(or fastboot). but why the stock kernel?? if you just want stock, id recommend just fastboot flashing the boot.img from the factory image. boot.img is the kernel.

If you're rooted then you can use terminal commands in the phone to flash recovery.
For example, if the recovery .img file is on the root of the internal storage (/sdcard) and its the latest official TWRP the commands would be:
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-3.2.2-0-oneplus3.img of=/dev/block/sde21
Partition sde21 is the recovery partition.

If you can still boot your os which I assume, and if you are root, you can just download twrp app from play store, flash your old recovery file (bluspark).
It worked as a charm for me
I've had issues like this in the past. The *fix* was a bit troublesome because it wiped all my data and there was no way around it, fortunately I backup my stuff on a computer regularly so that wasn't a problem for me.
Anyway, if you're still having trouble here is what worked for me.
1. Download stock recovery for the OP3T (http://oxygenos.oneplus.net.s3.amazonaws.com/recovery_op3t.img)
2. Boot into fastboot
3. Flash the stock recovery img
4. reboot into recovery
5. Format your phone to factory
6. Download custom TWRP (This is what I use with Oreo and it works perfectly) - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657595792
7. reboot phone into fastboot again
8. Flash the custom TWRP recovery
9. Reboot into recovery
You should be back in business. Hope this helps.
The latest version of TWRP (3.2.3-0) seems to have fixed decryption problems: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3742894/post77270858
