There is no way to root android 6 yet that doesnt require custom recovery (which needs either root or unlocked bootloader to install) or an unlocked bootloader. You would be better asking for help in the forums for your device as its more likely news of a bootloader unlock or root would be posted there than in SuperSU.

Please refrain from posting unnecessarily, it clogs up the threads and makes it harder to find what you need from the thread.
Hello I've been searching through the forum to find out how to unlock the bootloader for the Moto X 2nd gen , I'm in the UK and most of the threads are US related , can I unlock the bootloader through Motorola website I've tried to search but it comes up as only pure edition can be done or att Verizon ones
So is it possible to do as I want to install lineage os
Cheers

Follow my instructions here:

Some carrier branded variants cannot be unlocked. Region doesn't matter.

Thanks very much for help ,all unlocked and running mokee , which is an excellent all rounder .
I now have an officially unlocked LG V40 thinq even though it is NOT on their official list of supported devices. I bought a LMV405EBW, (Australian version) naively thinking it was a supported device. To me, if it had the same model number it should be treated as unlockable. When i asked LG why NONE of their phones sold here could be officially unlocked but their 'European' versions could they couldn't provide an answer except say that my version wasn't supported. Nor could they provide any reason WHY it wasn't supported..
Eventually LG relented and provided me with an unlock code. Which raises the obvious question of if they can easily and quickly provide me with an unlock code why can't they do that across the board?
Licensing, corporate agreements, etc.

But doesn't the buying public have a right to know this information? Again, I ask why one version can be unlocked officially but not others?
Is there any unofficial methods to unlock boot loader of LG V40 THINQ LMV 405 Indian version since it is not officially supported to unlock bootloader

Okay, well here's what I'd suggest. If you run into problems wit that guide, post the problem in that guide. That way people who have done it can help. When you post you had an issue in some different thread, it's very possible that those that have had success doing it aren't going to read the other thread, and thus you end up with no help.
I can tell you I've done it, I know it works, but there are some hurdles you have to get over, like working with windows and qfil, getting windows and adb and fastboot to work, which means installing the right drivers for windows, which can be a pain...
but, the help you need is in that thread, not here.
I will try all those steps in thread & share to you soon
I could not find proper USB Drivers for LG V40 THINQ & I am unable to enter fast boot mode or EDL mode . Pls help me
What to be done to boot into android, I have unlocked bootloaders by using Qfil , V35 engine Sir.

All versions, except t-mobile, can be unlocked. I think one version, the UK ebw, could officially be unlocked, but not 100% certain. If you look in the 'Guides' thread, you'll find the guide to unlock the boot loader of any version but t-mo.
cheers

I don't understand your question, do u mean "can we' unlock etc? The security patch level has nothing to do with it (unlocking), so don't know why u even mention it? Can u unlock if it has 10? yes.
cheers
